Orks > Eldar in melee?

    I don't think you're approaching the issue wrong. I think since you've prob been playing longer than a lot of us, I think you do have a perspective many may not know. I've only been playing for 2 weeks or so, so I had no idea these eldar issues were existent before, and I'm sorry in my other post for putting you and your opinion on the spot (in the eldar forums)

    I know you've said in the eldar forum there yesterday that you think that playing against eldar is essentially pointless, win or lose, because either way you were doomed to lose/set to win from the start. I think what I don't understand (and maybe others) is why that is? I'm not asking to be rude, I'm just genuinely curious now as why you feel that way. You had mentioned serious latency issues caused from eldar animations being too quick, or something like that.

    If there are these issues, it's good to talk about them so devs can see and hopefully fix them. I want a well working balanced game in the end more than being game breaking in anyway.

    The game is in a weird state of, "RANGE RANGE RANGE!" For Ork, but we deeply want to stomp you other races with choppery and krump'n.

    @OP

    Range could be the issue. Remember orks are smaller than other races so their melee range will be smaller too. Also, most ork weapons are short range except the chain choppa as far as I know. Latency is also an issue against eldar as they move so fast.

    We also have like, 1 power weapon as far as I know. So we're outclassed by the SM power sword and power fist, and the eldar can dodge more because of their speed + latency.

    I still chop em up good though, whether it's a power choppa or an urty syringe I do fairly well. However we're not the OP melee the devs said we were gonna be.

    I keep a klaw handy at all times, throwing people over railings will never get old. I do use my big shoota/kannon more than any melee loadout though.

    Klaw deaths make me a satisfied ork every time. See some marine get tossed 15 feet off the balcony makes it worth the slow speed.

    It doesn't work that way, you can be a damn snotling and still lunge 100m forward. Weapons reach on the other hand is shorter due to weapons themselves being shorter.

    Choppas with clashing generator will outclang power swords, everything above that SEEM to outclange sm equivalents short of klaw, which swings too slow compared to fist.

    Prior to the change to Eldar DBash, this wasn't the case with DBashes definitely. In my experience the "dbash + back-up-and-shoot faster than anyone else" effect just simply did not exist, especially on Dire Avengers. It was much much slower than on any other race and was consistently from the moment Eldar were released in EA to the updated DBash recently.

    Not to mention the horrifically long recovery time from falling. That one's still there, too. Even as a bloody Hawk. -_- You should be rewarded for landing neatly by being able to immediately manoeuvre.
