Orks 'eavy weapons.

This may have be addressed already but I just got done working all night and honestly don't feel like skimming through all the forum to check, so I'll ask. It dawned on me while looking at the pic of the "free" weapons that the Ork heavy weapon unlike all the other factions heavy weapons is shoulder mounted ( as they are in TT). Now my question, will this give orks an unfair advantage when it comes to firing over things (railings, rocks...squats)? Also since their heavy weapons are shoulder mounted how will "brace" work..or will it even be something orks can do with their heavy weapons? Honestly lore wise the idea of bracing a weapon to be more accurate would not be something that enters the Ork mind in the heat of battle, or any other time for that matter. These are honest questions and thank you in advance for any and all honest non-troll type answers.

Depends on the heavy weapon. Like, the big shoota you can easily brace because it's just you slamming your fist down on top of it while balancing it on a wall. It will be slightly more accurate, but there's all sorts of lroe and fluff of orks

But for like, those big super heavy shoota things with two barrels that are shoulder mounted, I imagine those can't be braced but have precisly ridiculus rounds per minute.

There's lore that supports orks taking cover, and bracing their weapons. Their naturally good warriors so these things would occur to them like breathing.

Besides, didn't you know an entire space marine chapter was wiped out by ork snipers?

Orkz obviously must brace their gun on another Ork! Thus providing maximum accuracy by setting Da Deffgun on top another Orkz head! Actually Anvilgrin I've heard once that Brett says Ork Deffgunz (Heavy Bolters) will not need to brace, they just need to keep firing in order to become more accurate. Where a Heavy Bolter has that one second ramp up time, the Deffgun will just fire everywhere randomly before it's field of fire begins to focus.

But that was from a QnA post a long time ago, I can't even remember where I saw it, so take that information with a grain of salt. I'm quite interested though to see the array of Ork heavy weapons we'll get in game. If they give us our Rokkit Launchers, we'll be the only faction with such a weapon typw. Beamy Deffgunz are our Ork equivalent of Lascannons (hopefully though unlike Lascannons they'll actually be useful), and I may of seen a plasma cannon in the Rogue Trader store.. though unfortunately I don't remember and can't look it up because the RTS is down!

Who knows, perhaps we'll even see the rare Shok Attack Gun that fires literal squigz at our enemies! @BrentEllison hint hint..

Actually the idea of it starting out wit ha wide cone of fire that gets narrower is pretty fun to me, and fitting with the orky way of fighting.

You can actually check saved webpages of the Rogue Trader here, just to browse the weapons, enjoy greenskins.

Thanks for the responses. As far as the lore and what not, I'm pretty familiar (started playing TT back when rogue trader came out ...yea I'm that old). My concern though was, if it is even a concern that other factions will pitch a fit and cry "foul!" that Orks can fire over things due to us having shoulder mounted HW's rather than the slung from the hip/lower aim point HW's.

The bigger the ork the less they need to brace. If he is strong enough he'll just out muscle the recoil. And as far as others crying foul that will probably happen if orks do anything better then them. How dare orks and their fans think they should have a fair say in anything in 40k!!!

  9. So long as they follow a rule of thumb being 'Exchange Accuracy for Fire Rate & Clipsize'.
    Then I will be happy.

I think if the Ork heavy weapons will be given brace mechanic, it is probably going to be handled differently than other races, assuming they want to go for the assymetrical balance. So maybe they "brace" while near cover by putting foot on top of it. Or they kneel down to get lower and rest the gun on the cover in front of them. Or maybe it will work completly different. We will see when they are in game.
