    Yet they can still think, and feel, like an intelligent being. How about the Eldar? They were created by the Old Ones too, and have everything in their genes as well ( I think, don't know a whole lot about Eldar lore, but I do know the old ones created them, along with orks, to protect the galaxy ). Are they not intelligent life forms? Besides, I never said orks were smart, I just said they weren't without intelligence. I suppose I could've chosen my words more carefully though.

    There are rare orks who actually appear to be smarter than others, however. Mostly Warlords though. Think about Wazdakka Gutsmek. He has a really great plan to conquer the galaxy, which you probably already know about. Is that something that's hardwired into the orks' genes? (honest question by the way, I have no idea if anything like that actually is part of there genetics.)

    I wouldn't say they aren't that much more clever, think of all the orks. Personal Teleporters, Gargants, and many of their other inventions weren't hard wired into their heads, but through strokes of genius such ideas were gained. They may not show it the same way humans do, but to say the cunning intellect (or intellectual cunning?) isn't there would be foolish.

  3. I'd say they are stupid enough to make weapons that have a chance to explode on themselves just because they can. If they build it, it will work. they don't have the common sense to think that firing grots out of a cannon which skims the warp is a bad choice.

    Images from the Ork codex ( or the 40k rulebook, can't remember which ), and an arm that comes from the Ork boyz kit.

    knowledge =/= intelligence

    yes orks have the knowledge hard wired into their genes much like a computer, unlike a computer however they have the intelligence to utilize said knowledge without external input and further more they have the ability increase the amount of knowledge they posses.
    It might not be the highest level of intelligence and in many ways very crude but orks are quite intelligent when you come down to it.

    That image is from the 6th Edition 40K rulebook. =)

  7. they aren't really intelligent, building for orks, is instinctual, the old ones gave them their ability to build.

    Yes orks do use chain swords but they are only counted as choppas. Either the blades dont spin from over use or orks are just so strong the blade spinning doesnt matter because of the clean slice the ork just made. Reguardless these should be ingame!

  9. The models come with chainchoppas, buzzsaws and assorted chain axes... What are you guys smoking to think otherwise? :p

    They use a crude form of chainswords. You only have to look at a basic squad of ork boys to see that. There are chainweapons on the sprue. Ork nobs also use massive chainaxe's as another form of "big choppa".
