So far I haven't seen a lot of actual discussion on what sort of weapon abilities and variety of that will be available to Orks. From what I have seen in the Rogue Trader it seems that they will have a few weapons/ gear that have similar attacks of the SM and CSM. Plasma chompa; most likely be the equivalent to the Plasma Cannon Heart Stoppa: Lascannon? Needle of lif: Apothecaries' Narthecium Iron sight shoota: basic Boltgun? I know the rogue trader's item descriptions give them some sort of unique effect; most likely some visual or graphical effect. But will these special weapons have any actual dissimilarities from what has already been shown to us? Fortunately there is one example shown in the Orks rogue trader is the Big Toof Choppa has a description that differentiates it from the standard melee weapon: Not as sharp as a standard Ork choppa, less effective at breaching armour, but the weight of the weapon alone is disturbingly good at knocking a target off balance. Will this weapon have a stronger staggering ability tied to it? I really want to have a deep and thorough conversation on this
I think the Heart Stoppa is going to be the equivalant of a las cannon, since Orks don't have a las cannon item otherwise; they rely on the good old fashioned rokkit launcher.
@Bentusi16 Well, I already have that covered in the original post with the "Heart Stoppa = Lascannon." And we haven't seen anything relatable to the rokkit launcha in the game so far. Using other examples Space Marine and Dawn of War 2 would we want the rokkit launcha a burst fire weapon, firing multiple rokkits at once? Would we want it to be a straight path or have a serpentine, winding trajectory? @Swagmaw I don't think the developers would make a weapon just for PvE. Also going on the description, the weapon itself seems kind of weird, like some sort of reverse jaws of life; instead of it clamping down like a normal power klaw, it pries open the target? The placeholder artwork also seems a bit impractical in design. P.S. I love the Sig, Swagmaw
Personally I think the rokkit launcher would act as a rokkit launcher. Fun fact, the "twirling" in an RPG in real life is an optical illusion, the rocket actually flies straight, but because of how it flies and the air it appears to be twirling. Alterantivly, as a hand held mortar of sorts with an arc similar to the plasma gun.
Lets be civil here Grot-Stompa. Bentusi, Zzap Kannonz are a Ork laser weapon, but those are huge space ship weapon batteries. I don't know anything about real life RPGs but there are a number of different models underneath the general name of RPG. Lets not use real life military weaponry for a game conversation, though.
When you talk about "twirling trajectory", i was trying to point out that it's a myth. It would hit where you aim it but with a illusion of a twirling trajectory. That's how I think a rokkit might work. Alternatively, the hand mortar thing. Also with the twirling trajectory. That's just visual, not actually all over the place.
