Ork Waaaaagh Vs Tyranid Hive Fleet?

Discussion in 'Orks' started by Matobar, Oct 21, 2013.

  1. Although it will take long, I have no doubt the Nids will stand victorious in the end, with their constant adapting and superior hive mind intelligence.

Outside of the intervention of other races?
My money is on the Tyranids.

Tyranids CAN only win in Ork vs. Tyranid.... Just because of the reason that Orks cannot change enough and the Tyranids understand how races work..... on long-term it will take out the waaghboss.

Or it is smart enough to keep the waaghboss alive.... Just killing the hordes over and over, growing bigger and bigger and when the hive mind thinks it's strong enough to take on Terra itself it will easily kill off the Orks and move on with it's plan.

And I bet all my money + my future PS4 that the Tyranids know that Waaghbosses are the key. And to kill him off it just takes a deathleaper or drop a Bio Titan on his head ^^

"cough" Wazdakka "cough" I disagree. Being to two most numerous races it will just come down to numbers really. Or it will be a stalemate forever. Tyranid hive fleets would continue to swell and the orks would just keep getting bigger and stonger from the constant violence. it's anyones game IMO. Though im rootin for the orkz

    A lesson to ya...

A hive Fleet is often so huge it has its own gravitational pull. In its wake are often hundreds, if not thousands of meteorites, comets, and other debris that floats within the wake of a fleet and often plummet to the planets that Tyranids consume to barren rock and leave behind.
A lot of that debris strike those barren planets and moons, often housing spores from long defeated or isolated Ork populations. By default the spores will not turn into Orks because there is no other life, and will instead recreate an ecosystem even where one has not existed before. In fact, often a world would be recreated by such spores, and an Ork may never be created because there is a lack of other life forms present

The Orks were created by the Ancients to stop the incursion of the Necrons.

The Imperium has turned one of the Hive Fleets into an Ork held region of Space. The Orks are loosing because the Tyranid advance is constantly evolving. Meanwhile more and more Orks flock to that region of space for "A good fight". What will come out of it once the Orks are defeated? The Emperor only knows...

Lastly. It is a strong belief that the Ancients may have something to do with the Tyranids. As the Ancients had fled many centuries ago, even when the Eldar were young, they have since in some way moved on which would explain why the Tyranids are coming from 'out of system'.
A hive fleet clean slates everything. As it is of one mind it calms the warp. As it consumes everything on a planet of organic life it stills the minds of those it consumes. As a result the Warp becomes calm and it moves on. The above I for mentioned occurs in its wake. Meanwhile the Tyranids move on until there is nothing left to consume until it almost completely cannibalizes itself. Often a Hive fleet will go inert before a true death happens and will only awaken when a psychic phenomena or direct physical tampering occurs.

So in two aspects the Ancients could easily have devised this strategy. They calmed the Warp (to which is known they hate respectively) and they clean slate the galaxy so they can restart a population that would not influence the Warp and evolve as safely as possible. At least the theory goes...

this "orks getting bigger and bigger" it's starting to sound stupid
yes orks get bigger, they adapt to the violence, but how big can they get in the end? Gazkghull big?
being big and being numerous are things that need energy and biomatter
tyranids consume the second during every battle, and without it ork spores can't use sun energy to convert biomatter into a new ork

and for those who believe that the orks must simply believe they win for it to happen
they should be very very very very numerous
    very very very very organized
and the hive mind shouldn't make use of terror tactics
    thing that it does
    a lot
some lictors or some zoanthropes are enough to make a group of orks go crazy and then dead
    repeat the process
    ???
    profit

    no wait
the c'tan hate the warp for they don't know how to control it
for the old ones it was very important for their technology
that theory is something very improbable

Tyranids are able to adapt much faster then orks, when faced with a seemingly impossible situation, they will find ways to adapt, provided they have enough biomass. I think that if the tyranids cannot defeat the orks, they will simply create newer and more dangerous life forms that are specialised in killing orks. Pyrovores are capable of incinerating their foes, it's possible that the hive fleet might adapt the flamespurt canon (I think that's its name) to be found on other organisms, perhaps some carnifex variant, not to mention that the nids already have a plethora of acids which would do a damn good job of killing spores.

Nids also fill the air with their own spores and micro organisms, some of which cause rapid growth of plants, it's possible that these would cause feral orks to grow much faster than normal. Now this sounds like it would be harmful to the hive fleet, but consider who is more likely to win, a fresh young ork with no weapons, or an organism designed specifically to kill him. Hell why bother waiting for them to be ready to fight?

The hive fleet would likely devour the feral orks while they were still developing.
  9. see the problem with the above is that they ALWAYS believe they will win--they still lose a lot. the nids would win, because they are more adaptable, and once the orkz are outnumbered, they will slowly start to lose, wherease in the octarius war, the nids were DANGEROUSLY outnumbered, and now they are on top. They took out the leader with a brilliant plan, feinting until he got sick of it, warlord left his defenses, and was lured into a trap with venomthropes and lictors--and thats all without the use of deathleaper, who could have assassinated the warlord single-handedly...

Orks CAN be demoralized, CAN be forced to flee (As once the Flesh Tearers proven that), but they run only for short amount of time.
Find da bigges' boss dere iz an' WAAAGH!
Orks were made to fight. They won't miss such a opportunity.
