ok so instead of being a nob i'm gonna see my character as progressing from a normal boy at the start up to being an 'ard boy when I have a load of flashy bitz, that is more akin to what we are playing as to compare us to space marines!
I have nothing to add on-topic but there these things for Elites, Heroes, and Nobs. So here! Snap into some knowledge! "a F2W Orc can only become a Boy (essentially he will only get the classes available for Boyz) a B2P Orc can be a Boy, a Nob and a Boss (where the Boss is equivalent of a Chaplain)" [Chaplain will be an LSM Hero Class] - said in "Nobz and their Role in EC" page 4 post #32 by PatrickBalthazar (former Lead Programmer) Squad leaders could just be an ork boy with some sort of pole as to represent the leader-ness and the buff he/she is giving off. Similar to the mekboy in Dawn of War 2 Retribution Elite Mod (shown here @0:41). Just smaller than that because it would give your position away being that tall. Nobs will be Elites & Heroes. Elites & Heroes are acquired in whatever ways then players spend personal in-game resources to spawn as them and a cooldown is activated when that player dies as them. Unknown if Elites & Heroes will share a cooldown to prevent simply hopping from one Elite to the other. Elites are essentially beefed up versions of basic classes (legion of the dammed marine is a tactical with bolter & cybork madboy is assault without a jump pack) though can have things outside those molds such as with TEQs (Terminator Equivalents) Heroes (Skarboy Commando) are the same thing but more powerful and can also give their team around them a buff. Some may sacrifice the buff to be more killy, I can see that being the case with the CSM Sorcerer Lord. They also are announced when they spawn and will very likely become high priority targets since they benefit their team AND they give greater rewards when killed. This was said before about veterans, 14. Patrick said that the P2P orks will be Nobz. But the Lootas are boyz. So the Lootas will be the only boy class for a P2P Ork, or Flash Gitz will replaced Lootas, or the devs will create something different? BRENT ELLISON: Orks are pretty freeform so we’re not sticking too closely to the names of the tabletop units – for example the heavy weapons character is just an ‘Eavy (name subject to change) which, depending on his loadout, COULD adhere pretty closely to the Loota identity. Also, Nobz are actually the elites – everyone plays as Boyz most of the time. It’s just that free ork accounts can ONLY play as Boyz. - found in the forum Q&A Answers Compilation Thread page 2 post #17. "Both Space Marine Veterans and Chosens are extensions of the base classes. You'll be able to identify yourself as a Veteran/Chosen that is a specialist in Tactical/Devastator/Assault once you have progressed far enough in each respective class. There will be something similar for both Eldar and Orks as well. For now, the idea is that as a veteran, you can create loadouts that go beyond the usual points buy limit. This can either give you a little extra power or diversity, but comes with an RP pricetag to spawn. We also want to make it clear for other players to visually identify someone who is a Veteran/Chosen." - MichaelChan (Game Designer) in Hey Michael! Tell Us About Progression and Economy! pg. 24 post #237. "The Veteran/Chosen isn't a separate class, but more like a checkpoint after reaching progressing enough in a particular class (e.g., becoming a Tactical veteran, Assault veteran or Devastator veteran). We are also thinking of having some accessories that let you break a few of the normal restrictions at a cost." - MichaelChan (game Designer) in Hey Michael! Tell Us About Progression and Economy! pg. 24 post #240.""Veterans" Somewhere during the progression of each class, you will have the option to make Veteran loadouts. This will allow you make a loadout with a higher points-buy limit, but each deployment will cost RP. This came about because we did not want Terminator-equivalents to be the only choice whenever an infantry-focused player had RP to spend." - MichaelChan (Game Designer) in Hey Michael! Tell Us About Progression and Economy! pg. 24 post #240. I don't know what could be Orks "veteran" other than a Nob since being "veteran" comes with a unique cosmetic appearance. EDIT: Note BrentEllison said during a livestream that RP (Requisition Points) aren't a thing anymore and the purpose RP served is being put to something else.
A orc is not as Orky as a Ork, but not a gretchin eiver, so's we laff at em tills they go away or we shoots da whelps. Some say is like a Ork an gretchin got tagether an made it somehows, but dats not how orky biolologee works at all so's they stoopid.
Well I would be fine with people being able to field a bit better loadout as their standard sort of like a slight vertical progression. Unless they build up another mechanic like RP, but seriously, if you have more than one or two "currencies" in the game it gets to be a management nightmare for the player and devs.
