Post some game mechanic suggestions you think Orks should have or be based around. To start it off here is an interesting ability from Borderlands 2 Mechromancer Gaige that I think would be an interesting ability for the premiere Ork shooting class in EC. The ability is called Anarchy in Borderlands 2, and it is a tradeoff ability that grants the character increased damage after everykill but reduces accuracy and stacks to give out great accuracy but insanely innacurate gunfire. For Orks it can be a pass buff aptly named "Dakka Dakka Dakka" that increases the orks damage and/or rate of fire for every kill they make but further reduces their accuracy. It would symbolize their love for Dakka and being overwhelmed by the sensation, getting lost in the gunfire and shells hitting the ground lol.
I personally rather liked that mechanic and I think that is very orky. But does that damage and inaccuracy increase as a constant passive while firing? Personally a "per kill" constant is a risky passive in any PvP centric game, it can become overpowered if players work out a way to abuse it or increase stats to compensate for the inaccuracy change, unless the developers design the inaccuracy to be globally effective of their stats, so increasing accuracy on items is pointless (or simply not having accuracy as a visible stat effected by gear etc, assuming this game has gear stats). I really do wish I could directly remember every one I've encountered in my time as a gamer in MoBAs and in MMOs/RPGs I have played. I may be wrong, but from memory these two come to the top of my thoughts, although there are more examples. I do know in GW2 there is a passive which increases critical based on kills, or was it damage dealt? One or the other it was abused by Warriors and was very OP till it got nerfed 2 weeks into the game's release. Another Passive which resulted in a champion being banned in draft for the better part of a year, Darius in League of Legends, his Ultimate did true damage reflective of percentage of health left on the opponent, in other words like Garen's Judgement except damage incremented on his blood stacks AND what made it broken and resulted in his ban was the fact it RESET HIS ULT COOLDOWN WITH EVERY KILL. This resulted in Darius players going into team fights and pentakilling whole teams, this not only broke the rarity and awesome accomplishment of a penta, but it also gimped teammates by denying them gold from kills, eg. 300g for a kill, 80g for an assist. This set back teams, due to these two reasons he was banned, he wasn't OP at all, unfortunately because of this association, people on forums and the community, being an unruly mob as the LoL community is just wrote it off as OP without understanding the two real reasons. As a result of this, that champion got nerfed to the point where he is no longer considered a strong top choice. when implementing game mechanics, you must consider the overall impact of them and if they go well and synergise with the rest of the game's mechanics and gameplay direction. Balance is always an issue in games, but people tend to get angry and upset where their favorite class, character, role etc gets nerfed to oblivion due to a poor design choice leading to community outrage which results in a nerf to appease the plebs.
Orks just need to be three things: extremely killy, very tough, and incredibly unreliable. I want to see them be like they are in TT, just as much a danger to themselves as they are to their opponents. Rokkits need to spiral wildly, gun recoil needs to be ridiculous, trukks and battle wagons need be ramshackle and swerve all over the place. I want the mayhem to be over the top, brutal, and hilarious- something so that when I drink and play I can just bask in the awesome hilarity of it all.
I think ork ranged weapons should reward firing for long times without stopping, to the warp with aiming! Who needs to aim when you can DROWN DA GITZ' WITH DA DAKKA
I fink ya gotsa reload at sum point... unless yous wantsa go krump 'em in da 'ead after all da dakka iz gone?
Ya git! When you's run outta da dakka in your shoota, you beat the grot next ta ya and grab 'is shoota! Specially if he spent lotsa' teef on a real flash gun! If ya got a nice flash shoota, whatchya doin' runnin outta da dakka!
Orky jetpacks need to have a mechanic that when you land with them, there's a small chance they either 1. Explode and kill the owner (it would be cool if you'd be able to activate this via a button too) 2. Detach from your back during flight. Also, I think orks should have more ammo than other races based on the fact that their accuracy isn't the greatest.
