Any ballistic and hand-to-hand equipment accesible through regular means and proportional to the enforced specialty stated (i.e. An Ork with a Looted Exitus Rifle cannot carry a melee weapon above a Grot knife). Who wins?
Orks would probably win because if we're talking a full squad of sniping orks, it's be around twenty of the little bastards. Plus the tau probably still have lower WS of an ork so the orks will outhit the tau when they get stuck in.
Orks being orks, they would probably shoot a volley, miss, get pissed and rush forward to melee or hit some Tau, get pissed and rush forward to melee.
As bad as Orkz are with precision weapons (their idea of "precision weapon" probably would be a hand-held Howitzer), they can't get worse than Tau in melee. I don't think that's physically possible. Even Guardsmen are better than Tau in melee.
Whether the Orks fired or not, I don't think the greenskins could be killed by Tau in melee. It'd be a no contest, Tau couldn't punch their way out of a wet paper bag.
Tau are basically worthless in melee. -They cant follow movement in close quarters. -Their bodies arent built for melee fights. -They have no real training or practice with melee weapons. Orks would win,zero doubt. Even if the Tau managed to close the gap,they would still get devastated in melee.
