I wouldn't mind having near instant respawns as long as it was seamless. I don't want to take 2 bolter rounds to the head and wait through that long drawn out bleedout process, then get stuck looking at the death screen, then having to look at the redeployment screen, then getting spawned back in. I'd rather just die, have a quick gloss over the redeployment screen and just drop right back into the action. The problem I see with low time to kill, the travel time it takes to get back in the fight. Even if we had trukks outside the combat zone it still takes time to get back into the fight. 40% of our entire playtime would be running back to the combat zone. And that's with instant respawn timers. Another thing would be tickets on the fortress map. It makes sense that the Eldar would get the same as the space marines because they trade durability for mobility. Orks are just an endless tide of green mean fighting machine but not all orks are decked out in 'eavy armor, it would not make any sense whatsoever to have the orks ticket count be identical to the space marine/eldar/chaos tickets.
Wargear that either. Takes away your armor or some hp, and your respawn timer, and some of your size. With the opposite possible, allowing size differences in the ork units, tweaked by wargear. OR Wargear that starts you off a pansie but you grow gaining HP and/or armor with each kill during the match as you get more angry. Not sure this would go down as well but it'd be cool, might well work on an elite class, or simulate a looter if he was just gaining armor not size. Yep. This is the main point I think we are stuck on talking about. Its why the f2 waaagh was a great idea, before the changes made it less viable. If orks just function the same then its going to be a bit meh, in simulating how they act in the game. Good points. Needs a closer spawn on that wargear or faction specific units. They might do closer spawns on a hero or elite unit for other factions, aka drop pods in planetside, so why not make that one or two of the orks basic unit abilities, eldar get the stealth for example the others get something flashy too (like the shield)
I support these Orkish Mechanics: Very limited armor (yellow Regen bar), but similar HP (the red bar) to that of a SM (non MoN) and a passive hp regen (2% max hp recovery every 4 seconds). That's about 4-5 shots from a bolter for a regular unarmored Ork. Instant or heavily reduced respawn counters. Population inbalance in each match in their favor. A lot more Orks vs everyone else. Lots of "Drop In" mechanics, like Roks, "paratrooping" via a looted Thunderhawk, coming out of the ground via those drills from SM, Orkish submersibles where it makes sense, ect. The Orks can certainly lay claim to being able to deep strike in a much bigger variety of ways than other races. I'm a OK with Orks having this be exclusive to them for awhile in terms of balancing the workload for the Devs and promoting asymmetrical balance. It could also be possible that Meks (assuming they're an elite class) can set up a node to node teleporter of some sort. Node A in spawn zone, node B near a point of interest, so once the Orks get into the action, they can set up the second half of the teleporter and just have a massive tide of players almost constantly streaming out of the thing. Break said thing, and the Orks will have to set up another one, in addition to all the "normal" ways of getting into battle, plus the above suggestions. No waiting, only fighting! No penalty for TKing. I fully intend on seeing some Ork matches just erupt into a bloody civil war and still somehow see Orks win. I want all of this because I fully expect the Orks to provide some of the most intense action to the to the other races. The xp points and scores fighting said Orks would be rightly hard earned, but likely some of the highest... ever seen. Add Tyranids to the scenario and all of a sudden it's just pandemonium
i dont really like the idea of orks being weaker but more numberous ya its the green tide but i dont like to be kannonfooda i want to be an epic ork
What if they implement a hidden point system. Everytime you respawn based on how well you do you get a new model that is bigger/faster. Balancing woupdnt be hard because if you die to much the points go down so your next spawn is smaller. The only real threat yo this is if the whole ork team falls behind they would stay behind probably. So maybe add in a warboss ability that can change the tide of battle by giving an active time ability that boosts teamates point aquisition in a certain radius around da boss. Also maybe we will get boss variants based on loadouts that give different play style bonuses. Like the dow2 hero selection. Each ork hero focused on a different style:warboss gave boosts to melee, mekboy had shooting and vehicle boosts, and kommando had some utility stuff i think (didnt play the multiplayer as much as i should have )
the continued existence of the orks is a sin against humanity then again thats all the xenos out there they see me as a sin after all
