Hi all. I've had a disscusion with my space marine friends that play the tabletop game and would love to see this game in full-action and I've asked them what they wanted to see from the ork nobz as they're supposed to be the shock troops of the orks so we come up with some abilites for them that would feel possible as an ability for the nobz as main focus of this thread. * = Info: # = Stats: * Toss: As nobz are the strong and big orks, towering over even the mighty space marines. What if they had a initiative ability which makes them do a grabbing movement and then toss the unfortunate player that's stands infront of the nob to the horde behind the nob as they tear the player in pieces. #: Apply Stun on contact for 0.7 seconds and tosses the target behind you for 1 to 5 meters (a random number). * Stikkbomb-Sticka: Nobz are bigger why not have a stick which have more greandes than needed on it. #: The nob tosses a pack of 6 grenades that have a 65% chance to splitt mid-air each going 6% of enemies total health value with a 1meter blast radius and a knockback of 1 to 2 meters. (don't know what the health cap is for any of the races in the game yet so I just give it a percentage.) * Melee Resistance (passive): Nobz are suppose to be tough and they execel in melee and when you see nobz you usally fire all your bullets at them but when get into close combat you're mostly done for and hope that the nob misses you so you can counter strike it. #: Nobz Recives 15% less melee damage. * Weirdboy Recharge Aura: (If there are any confirmation for weirdboyz at this time, tell me if there are) nobz presence to the weirdboy creates a stronger psky that buffs the "mana" regain for the weridboy. #: A nob increases the regain with 0.75 points if the weirdboy's energy regain is 20 per second per nob in a 55 meter radius while ork boys increases it with 0.o5 points (Or we use the Dawn of War 2 way of Mana/Energy regain for the weirdboy) * Rampage: Orks have their moments when they go in blaze and glory that would lead to their deaths. Even as a human would go berserk and attack until he dies but with this nob when they die they get a chance to still kill before they die (this was mostly a idea for a buff from a painboy but "we" don't know if they shall be in the game) #: A 40% Chance to regain 35% of their max hp for 8 seconds after death, when times out the nob dies. (This one has been comfirmed to be close to normal leveling execpt the regain damage part so you can ignore this one.) * Meaner an' Bigger: As times goes on everyone knows that ork grows in size and with new scars to show of the other orks and maybe be the ork nob leader of a nob squad. As the ork take damage and still being alive it gets bigger and gain stats bonuses. "The damage regain does only counts through enemy damage" #: all these bonuses are stackable execpt damage. 1: 300% of it's total health regained = 10% more health and size. 2: 600% of it's total health regained = 15% more health, size and melee damage. 3: 1000% of it's total health regained = 25% more health, size and a new aura buff that can also affect nobz in the same squad just once which it increases all stats with 20% (speed, Attack speed, armor, health, Knockback recovery andWaaagh! effectiveness.) giving the nob in total 50% health and size 15% damage increase if getting to the max That is all so far hope you like it.
Seems like you really put some thought into this. Maybe there can be Charging Ability where the said Nob goes berserk then charges . Also i hope that in game we will get not only "melee" Nobz but Nobz with shootas and deff gunz an burnaz an MOAR DAKKA. Even Meganobz as a hero class maybe.
I think they're fine, but there should be different kind of Nobz with different abilities. Like the ones you fight in Space Marine, you see: choppa Nobz, shoota Nobz, storm Nobz, kommando Nobz... I love that Toss ability by the way, but you should also be able to use it on a friendly player, to throw them into the fray!
Any Ork player who buys the game will be a Nob; the horizontal progression scheme that the game is based around will (probably) provide pretty much the exact examples you're talking about.
I like all your ideas! The only thing i can argue about concerns the last ability. More precisely, the increasing size. That would simply cause too much problems with the hitmarkers to properly be developed. Besides, i think nob leaders will already have bigger models than standard boys, so it shouldn't be necessary to further increase their size. I agree about the necessity of class exclusive abilities for each type of nobs. For example, for a storm boy nob, one special ability coud be called 'eavvy payloadd. While in the air, he can release his rokkit pak and launch it against a targeted area, causing AoE damage. On the other hand, though, he would have two cooldowns. One longer, before he can use again this ability. The other, shorter, will render the nob unable to jump again until he respawns an other rokkit pak. An alternative to this may be lootin stuff around the field, until you can fix a new rokkit pak.
I see your point in developing, it's a good one too. The idea was mostly just to make a nob squad leader "aka Uge' nob" if there ever gonna be nob squads and it needs a leader and give a visible representiv to the opposing races. I Like the StormNob idea. it's like a singel-use jet pack that the end of the fuel amount the nob realeses it and it propels to the "ground" or the surrounding area.
Well we sat for a good 2 hours coming up with all this we were gonna do more but the sudden lightout by lightning halted the progress.
