I feel too often that this game is more focused on ranged and melee will become a last resort instead of a play style. Frequently I am downed by tacs or devs who still manage to aim, fire and hit me while being melee'd by me or other orks. This of course causes them to flinch and drop their weapon down. While its pointing at the ground its shooting me in the face and I die. As an ork I've experienced this on the other side and its complete BS. Im blasting away at a charging melee marine and his hit connects but I manage to down him with the next shot that fires into the ground or air, so his melee damage gets reversed and he sort of teleports backwards a few feet into the downed state. Definitly felt like a bug.
Tbh I think melee is supposed to be a close confines building clear specialist or a jpa style threat removal. It really shouldn't be a main stay option when a lot of battles happen on big open areas. I think teams should generally break down to a 70/30 split guns to melee ratio. I know a lot of people really want a melee heavy game but those only work in really tight quarter scenarios. I mean you don't take a plasma sword into the halo sidewinder map and actually expect to place first in the match do you?
Yes it's happened to me several times already. These kinds of issues NEED to be sorted out before launch.
I have to take a pause from the game until Eldar are fixed, it's impossible to melee a banshee... their strong attacks is so fucking broken it's beyond comprehension, our fast attacks are slower than their chargeup. Which naturally Eldar fucktards abuse to no end and just spam strong att.
I think orks just need to take away from this game. Well, if balance is impossible it is better to let them not at all.
