Ork Mekboyz How Are They Going To Work

    Mekboyz are confirmed and we know what mekboyz do the fix things and build things. How are they going to build vehicles or fortifications? Will said fortifications have a number limit or will they have a material limit . Or will they cost personal requisition. And looting something meld do a lot how will that be included. Now DISCUSS!!!
  2. I think the major premise for the mekboy is that he'll be around to fix vehicles before they go boom, and less on building stuff that goes dakka.

    Rest of the time, he can pull his own weight in a fight with his unique aresenal:

    The Kustom Mega blasta, the Shokk Attack Gun, and the Pokkit Rokkit Launcha for starters. He'll probably also have access to mines to lay traps for both infantry and vehicles, a personal tellyporta to jump him over obstacles like a stormboy or to make a quick escape, and a kustom force field to cover the advance for himself and his fellow boyz.

    Perks that can make him unique from other engineer classes? Well let's see.
    -He can take a wrecked vehicle (has to be a smoking wreck, not an exploded pile of scrap) and fix it up again with his mek toolz right on the spot for a minor cost to teef or requisition or whatever, so he or other boys can have access to the vehicles's functions.

    -He can take a wrecked enemy vehicle, and build a Battlewagon out of it on the spot for himself and other boyz to use. Same thing as repairing an Ork vehicle but at greater cost.

    -He throws other players an ammo runt, who refills their ammo supply with a command.

    -He can carry a can of red paint. A fresh coat of it on any orky vehicle and it gets a speed boost that lasts an hour.

  3. Personally I can see them fulfilling the Orkish medic role in the apparent absence of a Pain Boy/Mad Dok class. I can see them having some skills based around welding arms back on; field bionics and stapling sheets of metal over gaping bullet wounds. I can also see them being able to set mines and turrets down sort of like the Dawn of War II mek boy. Im interested in seeing if Mek Boys are able to "summon"/craft new light vehicles like tracks, trukks and bikes.
  4. Actually when I think about it, I think the Orks probably won't have a medic class seeing as how they try NOT to visit the Dok.

    Probably can be translated to passive healing when not in combat, and much slower regeneration when fighting, with items such as 'Fightin juice' to give a temporary buff, or a WAAAUGH banner to ignore damage for a brief time.

    And the Nobs can probably get 'Wotz me gutz doing over dere?!' or something which allows them to get up and continue fighting for like 10 seconds. If they can get a melee kill in that time, they revive with half health, if not they die as their brains finally realize they should be dead.

    I kind of hope they release a Dok class later. Find a boy who just so happens to have accidently died? You can start sewing him together. Of course like anything ork, you might just start having ideas you think are good. You might accidentally perform the dreaded squig brain transplant Become a painboss? You can start giving your boyz random cybork parts. Hilarious Commentary included, of course. Everything from tank treads, exploding 'ead, perhaps even a hoverbody.

  7. If that happens, it'll probably just work the same way as L4D's Defib unit.

    "Wake up Git!"- Dok plunges a huge syringe full of an oily unidentifiable fluid and the player (given prompt) may revive(accept) or turn to a pile of melted mulch(reject).

    Just for the sake of keeping in line with Shooter MMO's and 40k lore, I think it'd be best for the dok to just give on the spot ministrations with his 'Urty Syringe. Health buffs (FIGHT 'ARDER!), speed buffs(Squig in da pantz), and overall combat buffs(Diz will only 'urt a lot)

    He would more likely to be able to upgrade nearby weapon damage of the sorts and give an area damage reduction, like if he had a kustom forcefield. I can imagine him going "Oi' youz dere gimme dat pile of junk sos I can makes it into a piece of butiful orketechture!"

    Though it would be interesting if he can create gun platforms i.e supa kannon or a big lobba, but would seem to be highly unlikely unless all other races receive a similar class as this could lead to an unusual advantage.
