What if they just made the warboss a monthly random generated massive ork. The best ones could be used for lore later
Feel free to correct me on this if I'm wrong, not a big Warhammer guy... but isn't every Canon Ork WarBoss in canon at this point badass enough to rally a Wagggh dead due to whatever reason? And aren't orks supposed to rise thought the ranks by being the biggest badass about? My point being that all the badass warbosses are dead and every Ork Warboss was new sometime when some new writer wrote about them. I say we give Skarbliiz a chance. And if he does not work out,, we rip him apart and appoint the bigest Ork badass around here in charge instead. I like this plan too. To me ork leadership feels like it'd change often.
What? Every Warboss is dead? No, hell no. That's just blatantly wrong There's plenty of Warbosses that haven't died. One of which being old Ghazghkull himself. He sure ain't dead. Gorgutz isn't dead either. The Beast...may or may not be dead, I don't know anymore. There's a whole slew of Warbosses still alive and kicking ass. Not every WAAAGH! ends with the death of a Warboss. Some just get routed and they break apart. Others succeed and they start fighting each other out of sheer boredom and the WAAAGH! collapses that way. So yeah, no. Not every Warboss is dead. That's just factually incorrect There's a lot of Warbosses just doing there own thing. Orks aren't united. They don't give shit what the other Orks doing, as long isn't doesn't end up with having their things looted or their tribe being attacked.
I think the part about him being so focused on space marines is what makes ork fans upset. It feels like we only exist for the sake of space marine fans and not because orks have an actual fan base. The only motive a good boss needed lore wise in this was someone saying "hey you hear about dat big fight goin on over der?" At which point the boss just stands up, points, and screams WAAAGGGGHH!!! Honestly what more reason does an ork need?
I'd like to see Skarblitz get.....Replaced (Ork Style) right before Orkz are released, and just make the Ork faction have their own warbosses based on the biggest player clans, and maybe how many points those clans generate! Let the players fight to be the warboss of the Orkz! That'd be a fun way to make Orkz unique to all other factions
Hahaha! That'd be right propah Orky dere.. But at the moment, the only two Warbosses with any sort of numbers are myself and Thrakka, with Thrakka having a much larger chunk of the Ork population. Issue's with player led factions is that they become popularity contests, without skill or leadership ability being factored in (not to say either of us lack those). I may be one of the few Orkz though that actually likes Skarblitz. Here we have an Ork from Da Bad Moonz Clan who isn't some greedy tooth grubbling merchant or pirate. He's a WARLORD, an Ork Warboss who bosses other Warbosses around! (Boss) when's the last time the Bad Moonz have produced such a beast? Sure he's based around the fact that he stompz Space Furries on a regular basis.. but is that so bad? Space Fur- Erm, Space Wolves have often been labeled mary sue's due to constant victories and popularity, rarely have they been touched by an enemy, and now we have an Ork who regulary kicks their viking-wannabe hides. Skarblitz went toe to toe with a DREADNOUGHT and won, a flesh and blood Ork going against the emperor's holy machinery. Not only is he a physical force, but he's cunning, brutally so. Skarblitz is smart enough to actually have a loyal warp-head (Greenskin Psyker, and a powerful one at that) follow him around and protect him. Skarblitz is an Ork who not only has fought his way up the food chain with his brawn, but also most likely his brain. You don't get to be as big or command a Waaagh!!! as big as Skarblitz's if you're a muscle bound buffoon with no grasp of long term goals. Lookin' at the other Warbosses we all know and love from the games (not the novels or tabletops, we've only read about them without seeing them in action), we have Kaptin Bluddflagg, Gorgutz 'Ead 'Unter, Grimskull... All three of those bad assess had their own games to shine in, and we all love them because they nailed their roles. I believe Skarblitz can do the same in his own game, which is the Eternal Crusade, I 'fink we should give dis 'ere boss a chance before we petition bE to remove him from office.
Taking out a dreadnaught isn't as impressive to me anymore...just caught up on my gaunt's ghosts reading. 2 chaos dreadnaughts get brought down by imperial gaurdsmen. Both teams seemed like pretty legit takedowns too. I get your point, but i think we just want an orkier ork as a warboss not a lore tool that is easily interchangeable. Skarblitz just doesn't give me that super awesome warboss vibe other stories do. Rynn's world for instance has a cool boss that devastates a SM fortress world. Plus he fights a chapter master using some pretty op sounding relic gear while not wearing much any armor and a big ol hammer,AND he lives thats what i want in a warboss someone that just laughs in the face of his opponent. Maybe if they made skarblitz a little cocky and flesh out his character he would be there.....and get rid of those silly antlers or make em waaaaaaayyyy bigger.
