As we all know red makes things fasta and purple makes ya sneakyer. I was wondering what do the other colors do if anything? Maybe colors can be a form of ork wargear. For example: red for speed increase, blue to take more damage, purple to be harder to spot, etc.

blue is for attracting luck as it is flashy enough to catch the eye of gork(or maybe mork), yellow represents wealth, black is seriouz buzinezz for tough big boyz, green is da best and the orkiest color.

I see applied color theory as more of a klan-specific thing on the advancement tree rather than a wider wargear selection like chaos marks.

possible bonus and advanced bonus for advanced advancements:
yellow (bad moons): wargear costs less LP, you get more tokens per match.
black (goffs): health bonus, armour bonus.
purple (blood axes): increase in distance to spot, decrease in distance to be spotted, resistance to suppression
blue (deff skulls): slight increase in precision for you and decrease in precision when against you, more exp
red (evil suns): faster sprinting both on foot and on vehicles, faster regeneration of stamina/fuel
green (universal): increase the distance in which you receive the effects of the waaagh of your squad (if it really works as an aura of effect from the squad leader like banners)

  3. Yellow is blastier and makes bigger BOOMS.
Also, white represents death I think?

Purple wouldn't work as a color as it would make them invisible.

Camo is the color for blood axes

If black is a color (which it technically isn't. It is the lack of color) then why has white never been used to represent some orky value?

For the same reason that Aqua, Khaki, Pink, Brown, Grey, and many others haven't.

Because no one at game-workshop has decided yet that they should extend the ork's palette of colors.

That just seems like such an obvious move on their part to me. 0 design effort just wright in codex "grey makes orks do *insert trait* kinda stuff" give em a new TT rule for painting army and boom, you just boosted sails of a paint which is easy to make and adds more depth to game.

I mean it isn't like they couldn't have ghazkull say "I'm gonna tell all da boyz dis color does stuff an see wa happens" then because orks gestalt works as it does it catches on, more orls start beliveing, it spreads, MORE orks start believing, and pow new ork effect.

Maybe something like white is da finkiest and da must cunnin', therefore they have better mek boys and their energy weapons work even better on average. Grey is da most durable (maybbe all those tanks and titans they see not dying make this thought spread) therefore grey armour is more durable and grey vehicles are harder to dmg/disable.

Lotsa wasted potential here by not expanding ork lore by GW if you ask me.

White, Pink and Aqua are squishy 'ummie and pansie eldar colors. (skin/guardian/banshees/slannesh, etc.) The are the antithesis of what orks value. If anything, those color would be repulsive to them and they'd think these colors make them cowards, easy to see, dumb, weak, etc.

I could see more earthy colors like Brown, Grey, Terra cotta, etc. as ok for orks, but likely neutral. has you said, maybe smarter. but think colors like charcoal/dust etc. in a working environment, orange (fire, forge). Something that looks "dirty" is better vs something that looks "clean". because dirty means propah weapon manufacturin' and 'ard boyz work. Something that makes them look like blacksmiths and the like (for mekboyz).
