Ork Balance

  1. I have a few ideas for the orks,(more specifically ork boys). I was thinking that perhaps they could do less damage in general to say space marines, but have perks that help them out. For instance, if they are fighting near a wagghhh! banner they do increased damage, the larger the hoarde they are fighting with, the more damage(or other) they do. So 1v1 against a space marine they will be on the losing end, but in groups or near a banner they can even become stronger than astartes.
    Thoughts?
  2. Except that in single combat, an Ork is equal to an Astartes in every aspect except aim. This is how space marines deal with orks. They fire from a distance to wear down the numbers, because once close combat begins there is no way they can deal with outnumbering hordes of enemies who are just as strong and tough as they are in hand-to-hand.

  3. well an ork nob is equal to an SM but a boy? I doubt that ^^

    well we can't make the f2W players to weak
    and the DMG comes more from the weapons then from the ork (at least for range combat) so less DMG isn't the best way I think

    but!
    we have other methods to decrease the effectiveness of the F2W players without letting them look like weak copies of the"real" players

    the visual main difference between boy and nob is the size of the body I guess nobs are about 30% taller and wider
    so boys should have a smaller hitbox then nobs
    but to compensate that the boys would also have a smaller HP pool

    this makes boys weak against AoE dmg but the enemy will have a harder time hitting them with non AoE weapons


    for the waaagh mechanic
    needing a waaagh banner nearby to start a waaaagh could be bad since I don't know where you want to get that banner from
    do someone need to carry it to the battlefield? or will it be build like in DoW
    both ways are bad for attacking and would only serve in defence

    I would suggest that whenever a certain number of orks are near to each other a waaaghbar appears on the top of the screen for each ork
    now the orks can start to fill the bar with waaagh energy
    many actions can fill it
    shooting (shooting while aiming on an enemy grands more energy)
    shouting at enemies (just press the warcry button while aiming on an enemy, this only grands energy once in a certain period, grands more energt while sprinting)
    moshing other orks (orks can tackle each other without doing dmg)
    let engines roar (well make some noice with your vehicle to get energy)
    war council skill (the ork council will have some ways to create waaaghs I guess)

    how many energy the bar needs depends on how many orks are in this same waaagh zone the more orks the more energy is needed

    when the bar is filled the waaagh begins (all orks start to scream waaagh, similar to the DoW retribution last stand mode when orks appear)
    the waaaghmode lasts for a certain time and can be extended by killing enemies
    while the mode is on each ork gets a benefit from it depending on which class he is

    shoota boys and lootas will get an increased chance on the dakkadakka effect
    dakkadakka= a chance to not use up a bullet while shooting (the ork says dakkadakka when it is happening for sure!)

    close combat classes without rokket will get a health buff and DMG reduction while sprinting towards the enemy

    stormboys will get an increased jump and heavier deepstrike

    painboys will grand an anti CC buff on everyone near them (this buff blocks one CC every 5 secs, something like knockdown from an explosion )

    Meganobs will get an combination of the shoota/ loota buff and the close combat without rokket buff

    vehicles will simply go fasta!

  7. Actually yeah, an Ork is equal to a space marine in physicality, even a boy. Even in the crunch. Their strength and toughness are identical. Their Weapon skill is even the same. The primary differences are the armor and Ballistic skill.

    I believe that veteran ork will wreck veteran space human any time, any day.

    Anyway, personal belief and lore don`t matter here. This is a pvp game and every class needs to be balanced with its counter part and this is a fact. Hopefully they will balance factions while giving them special feel.

    A normal Ork boy lives up to that of a Space Marine. Atleast one where it isen't his first battle. I just think too many is thinking WH4OK Space Marine where you run around and kill Boyz that equal the strength of grots and kill thousands of Orks with ease. (Yes looking at you "Kill 40.000 Enemies Achievement")
    A Ork nob and Normal Space marine, would all depend on Wargear. Bolter, Boltpistol and Knife V 'Uge Choppa/Big Shoota, Slugga Pistol. I think the Ork Nob would have the strength to shred the Space Marine as I think they have in most circumstances.
