Quite an irrelevant post inc: Just to chip in and say that this RP you got here Jester bro is something I thought about doing for a long time although I always dreaded the fact I would totally miss the mark when RPing some of the Legions, as it obviously requires shitload of HH knowledge. In any case, I definitely wish you good luck and will keep reading it (Sadly can't even ask to participate due to fucked up time schedules )
Get that schedule sorted out bro! XD But I get that RL randomness sucks, if only we can solve all our problems with a well placed bolter round! jk jk, but thank you and I hope that one day you can enjoy this with us as a participant but until then enjoy the read! ^_^ EDIT: @Vulpas couldn't decide on a weapon? lol @Vikingvesk kind of looking forward to seeing what you choose as your arms. @Xaphen just assume your character as one of the unnamed members of the 9th right now. EDIT 2: I know I've listed in the OP that I'll do a secondary objective if we don't get a majority in 6 hours, but seeing as the current position it's difficult for me to do so. So I'll wait for the standard event update and this might be one of the few times I don't post something for people to do.
I've decided not to join. It looks like the proposed posting frequency will be too fast given the time difference, so I'll end up missing out on stuff.
As for my weapons ... well since we are scouts I gather it will just be a stalker bolter and a combat knife. Unless we already have scout bikes. But I am not sure if scout teams actually had a lot of close combat weapons.
they do, I've read and seen both examples in 40k before. They just don't have the same kind of combat capability as regular astartes (definitely sniper, shotguns and chainswords though, maybe just the scout version).
@Akragth specifically 31k, but sure. I think there are scouts back then, don't really see any info indicating if there aren't and the Legions had to recruit somehow within just throwing trainees into full power armour.
Yea, they obviously recruited, but it was done differently. The role of the 40k scout was filled by the recon squad. There's nothing showing scouts used in the field as they are in 40k. At least, not as far as I could see.
I'm using creative privileges to do the opposite of what is assumed (If something isn't given concrete structure or even fade indications of how things are done, I'll make it up as I go). I know they probably did things differently, but since I can't find anything specific in regards to the legions in general outside of those on Terra and directly off the original homeworld of the legions, and even details about those are foggy at best. So while the scout/trainee idea may be a 40k concept, I'll incorporate at least the overall structure so we don't have this chaotic mess of organization works within the Legions currently. Besides, there are some differences that I've done with this RP (e.g. all the trainees already have full implants inside them, so bionically they're already technically full space marines, just without the power armour currently). If you can find some rigid details on the recruiting process of Astartes back then, please share it and I'll do some minor edits to the post I've made so far. EDIT: Ok, so I think I remember somewhere that Jaghatai khan rode a custom land raider tank into battle, but I can't find the specific reference now, can anyone else confirm this? EDIT 2: Just added something called the experience posts. Not too significant addition to the mechanics but it's there in the OP if you want to read about them under post frequencies.
This looks like good fun. Well lets hop in then. Name: Temur Rank: Apothecary Description: Temur has tanned skin and high cheekbones. He has a short black beard and a hair is drawn back into a small ponytail. His youthful features have yet to be properly ironed out by the gene-enhancements but the drive in his eyes show him to be resourceful and determined warrior.
