The sudden outburst of anger had made Frederick take a back step, he gripped his force stave more tightly as he looked the Codicer in the eyes and saw very dangerous signs his free hand almost instinctively raising to grasp one of his Aquila charms in his hand before pulling himself back in case his master took offense at the gesture. A frown was developing on Frederick's own face which slowly evaporated as Iovita told his story, he had never really known that the Codicer himself had served in the deathwatch, but hearing his story showed that he probably knew far more about how they operated than most of the sealed records in this Librarium would ever let on. He relented as Iovita then started preparing the letter he had asked for and handed it to him, Frederick nodded courteously as he accepted it with the Codicer's blessing, he responded expressing his gratitude.

'Thank you, this is a momentous decision for me one that I must take if I wish to serve the Imperium as best that I can, I am willing to take the risk of facing indescribable horrors, I am somewhat mournful of leaving the place I have come to know as my home and workplace for all this time, yet I must look forward. My living chambers are spartan and there is nothing else worth bringing with me that does not already belong to the Librarium, it has been a great honour working with you master Iovita. '

With that Frederick turned and sought a free lectern examining the address written on the envelope, there was a niggling sensation of change in the back of his head, an unwelcome mental state of mind likely brought on by the high emotions of the past exchange. He banished the thought, now is not the time for doubt and self questioning, such apprehension was dangerous enough for a normal man. After reading the address as a ship in the orbital shipyard named 'The Darkest Night' he assessed the appropriate route he must take to reach that particular section of the docking area and set off out of the Librarium, he hesitated a moment before leaving taking in the moment that this may be the last time he actually sees this familiar environment, then he left.

  2. Stepping back onto the ship Lanius would have breathed a sigh of relief if he were still capable of such a gesture. His artificial breathing apparatus would not allow such a sound on the account of its design, constantly sucking in air through filters to be directly deposited into his lungs. The filters weren't strong enough to handle airborne toxins but they filtered out irritants and whatnot making his breathing more easy. His lungs were still mostly organic but also mechanically assisted to allow more efficient breathing. He knew the technology existed for him to simply circumvent the bonds of flesh and replace all but his mind with glorious machinery but that was fairly costly in both time and resources. He repeated the mental motion of a sigh but this time it was one of annoyance as he found himself dwelling on somewhat irrelevant topics.

The fact of the mater is that he is back on the ship finally, he can go to his quarters and reflect on the day's events and rest his mind for a moment. Of course his bionic body felt no exhaustion and required no rest but his mind indeed did. When he was younger he was surprised that even the most heavily augmented priests do actually sleep, the mind requires rest even when the body does not. Though this does not exactly mean that they sleep in conventional methods. He found himself falling sleep standing once, his limbs locking themselves down upon his loss of consciousness and keeping his posture. If servitors had opinions he believed those that dwelled within his lab would likely be amused by finding their master asleep like that. But most servitors were mindless drones so he knew they held no such opinions or any for that mater.

Idle contemplating aside he was currently navigating the labyrinthine halls of the ship to find his quarters. The ancient construction of these vessels always interested him to some degree. But before he could truly delve into that thought he noticed all the crew staring at data slates and others running by. Evidently there was some kind of fight that drew their attention away from their duties. Fairly typical really, many crave violence to some extent and evidently it was between Ultramarines and other Acolytes. It didn't concern Lanius at all really, he simply continued walking to his quarters. Allowing whatever thoughts that occurred to him draw his attention for short moments of time.

Alnar didn't really care about human's beating each other up. Besides he got away from the alarm and that was a relief in itself. Message was sent, he had the token and Varuuk had a debt to pay.
Without any announcement or saying anything further he headed for his quarters. He could use a breather after this ordeal and a stiff drink.

  4. "And i had hoped to face a champion to test myself against, but here we stand cusin" Tyr answered, keeping up his charade as he glared at the ultramarine, no pity to let himself think he stands against the savage wolf of saying rather than the cunning hunter of reality, well atleast it would be the latter if the rather simple plan worked out from the start, else they would have to rely on wits and savagery.

Red as he walked the halls found himself near a group of arms men and other inquisitorial personal seemingly violating several security protocols that would likely cause shenanigans within the ultramarines and inqusitors hair. Sighing outworldy. he decided to leave it it would likely be something these mens sergeants or other superiors wold handle and was not his own duty.

Finally stepping foot on the cold deck of his new home, the ship "Darkest Night", Gansukh couldn't help but think about if its name was aptly given. So far, things didn't really move the way he wanted but perhaps the thread of fate could be changed from now on. First however, the Stormseer was bound by duty to make his presence known, for real this time.

Not having any sort of commentary on the "match" being broadcasted across the ship, the White Scars Librarian marched with purpose through the ship, heading for one individual he was about to call his captain. Asking for directions among the crew that even now headed to spectate the fight, Gansukh hoped to reach the Deathwatch Captain Varuuk soon and get this introduction over with.

    @Uriel1339

Goreparan briefly looked at the monitors before looking away. He didn’t much care about any weak sparing between the wolf, human and the ultramarine captain. Others may find it entertainment or watch the fight for review and such but not goreparan for he didn’t need to. The minotaur instead opted to go to the training deck to see what servitors were there for him to fight. It was far better for training to be deadly for the body and mind.

Longfang didn't say anything to the other human, but did give an approving nod. He could quite feel the warrior's presence of the other. This would be quite an interesting fight - and he would be excited to see how it turned out. His hands flexed, and he prepared for a fight.

-- Final Fight; Tyr Nosebreaker & Denton 'Longfang' Reach vs. Learchus Abantes & Phyrrus Atraxus --
@BadDo9 - Denton 'Longfang' Reach, Catachan (M) Jungle Fighter
@Grall_Stonefist - Tyr Nosebreaker, Space Wolf (SM) Grey Hunter
@KorCharon - Phyrrus Ataraxus, Terran (M) Palantine Sentinel

As soon as the fight between the four finally began, it was Learchus himself who took the initiative with his faux-power-sword clashing against the Space Wolf. The blows were exchanged rapidly as if it was about life and death. After all, for the captain in a sense it was. He was fighting to restore the honour lost to any who failed to best the brute Fenrisian. And as such, the former Sergeant channeled his every memory he bore against the Orks and Tyranids. To overcome this challenge with power, rather than finesse. This blocked Tyr from utilizing his cunning as intended.

Tyr welcomed such challenge gladly, going fully confrontational with his blade against that of his adversary. The skill of both Astartes was evenly matched, forcing the Fenrisian to actually give it his all, compared to the Ultramarines before.

Phyrrus and Denton on the other hand had the problem of the awkwardness that this was about all and everything, yet at the same time that they would continue to serve in the same strikeforce. This however did not stop the Palantine Sentinel to unleash a hail of bullets against the Catachani while moving forward. Longfang did much the same, approaching in a zig-zag pattern while making sporadic shots aimed at the head of Phyrrus to force him to evade and stop his fire.

Sooner rather than later they were upon each other in melee, each drawing their blades. What was supposed to be a pair excercise, ended up to become two brutal duels instead that co-existed parallel to one another. It was Learchus as such who noticed this first and was going to take advantage of it, such the Codex Astartes demanded.

He started to weaken his defense and let Tyr go down on him with a flurry of blows, pushing the Ultramarine back. Then in the last moment he made a few quick steps. Tyr followed, not letting his prey escape. But then when the Ultramarine moved his body to the side, the Space Wolf crashed right on top of both Denton and Phyrrus who got too focused in their duel.

Learchus saw the opportunity and move in for the 'killing' blow, but Denton dug his sword arm out from beneath Tyr who struggled to get off and absorb the blow, holding the Space Marines blade in deadlock. The Space Wolf pushed Phyrrus off and noticing his blade was gone, he simply leapt up from a lying position, putting all of his force into his fist that connected with Learchus' face, making him stumble backwards. The nose was broken, making the Wolf live up on his name.

The Grey Hunter was again on his pursuit, only to feel a salvo of bullets go into his back, distracting him enough for the Captain to slam his blade into the abdomen of the Space Wolf, making him empty his lungs. Denton realized the issue at hand and covered Phyrrus, sending one aimed bullet into the side of the Terran's temple, strong enough of a blow to disorient him. He then abandoned his own blade to grab Tyr's and throw it to him.

The flying blade was thrown too far and high, but Tyr saw it at the edge of his vision and jumped, grabbing it with both hands and using it's initial momentum along with his own to swing it overhead down upon Learchus who could only block the attack, but was forced down to a knee from the sheer force. The follow up flurry not even the Captain could withstand and begrudged he put all his force in one last parry to stop the constant assault before delivering a fist into Tyr's face, breaking his own nose in the same manner that happened to the Ultramarine. He then dashed past Tyr, delivering his blade against the neck of Denton who was completely caught by surprise of how fast the captain moved. The Catachani was sent to the ground, landing with his head first and totally knocked out.

Phyrrus' body stirred to awaken, hands on the rifle he took aim on Tyr. But the Wolf's sixth sense kicked in and he made the tough decision to throw his weapon at the head of the grounded Sentinel, knocking him out as well.

That left the two Astartes to duel one another. Both of their bodies rocked from the adrenaline and increased air intake, sweat having formed up long ago and bruises easily visible in the areas not covered by their robes. At the same time both lounged at each other for one final exchange of blows. The Ultramarine with his blade was at an advantage of range, but he did not expect the Space Wolf to simply endure the pain and give the captain a good 1-2 combo before grabbing him and tackle him to the ground, disabling him from any move at all. Learchus struggled and punched and kicked the Space Wolf atop for a while, until Tyr managed to place his lower arm on the throat of the captain and cut his air off.

Before it would get too far, the Ultramarine knocked the floor three times, signalling his surrender. The fight had come to an end. Both sat up next to one another as medicaes would rush in to take care of the mortals.

"You have great potential." Learchus admitted, the nose bleed having already stopped. "And I am thankful, today is a great lesson for the fight we will have against the Orks in the coming days." The Captain got up and then offered his hand to pull Tyr up.

    ~~ The Darkest Night - Narrator ~~
    Everyone + @Donairian
In the meanwhile on-board The Darkest Night the crew cheered and went wild as they saw their representatives be victorious. It was a good morale boost for what was to come, facing the complete unknown on the world of Tyran. Shortly afterwards already the crew at large returned to their duties, especially when the quick whispers of the Inquisitors having finished their session made their rounds.

In the meanwhile also Frederick met one of the Inquisitors who took him officially under her wing as the first and only Acolyte - Yuri Gorbachev. She was a master psyker herself, or so she claimed and her fellow Inquisitors. And as such it made more sense for her than anyone else to have him in closer circles. After what happened to Rei, Marcella was not completely comfortable around those with the psyker gene anymore.

And after such ordeal, Frederick was given his own room that was relatively spartanic but allowed for making a proper home. It was adjacent to Yuri's own chambers, but both having their complete individual entrances. There was a bookshelf with a few books that had been gifted by Iovita. Mostly lore documents on the galaxy at large and history of the Tyrannic Wars. Books that Frederick had read before. So it was probably more of a sentimental gift, than a practical one.

~~ The Darkest Night - Varuuk [Earlier] ~~
    @Colapse

Gansukh finally found Varuuk in the armory where he was inspecting his equipment being maintained by the most talented tech priests on board of The Darkest Night. "A Stormseer." He noted with a soft smile, turning his head to face the White Scar.

"Fought amidst the Khan's great warriors before, but not yet one who controls the elements. I heard already of your escapades with Amleth's alien slave. And I care not if you agree or disagree with his radical behaviours. The only thing I ask of the members of my kill-team is to execute as asked. We are not amidst the White Scars nor Iron Hands. We are not here to wage long campaigns and be victorious in the glory nor on behalf of our chapters. In reality, most of our tales will be forgotten and never documented. Or sealed away only for the High Lords of Terra and the highest Inquisitor Lords to ever see. Act on my command and do not let yourself get intertwined in the politics of the Inquisitors. Trust none, but yourself." He approached the Stormseer and offered his arm in a typical greeting of a Chogorian citizen.

~~ The Darkest Night - Varuuk [Later] ~~
    @Wata

Varuuk would have arranged a meeting with the Eldar, Alnar, on a secret frequency. During which the device the Watch Captain handed off would be returned. He checked with satisfaction that the coin of the Void Dragons had been removed. "I will see that you make it unharmed to your kin, Alnar. By now you surely understand that this is nothing more than a debt repaid. Tell none of theses events to any of your 'comrades', because I'm sure none of them can stand you, neither can you stand them. So keep your secrets to yourself and if all goes smooth, soon we can go about our lives as if nothing happened. But be warned. Should you attempt to free any of your fellow slaves. I cannot guarantee their survival. I will ensure naught but yours. Such is the agreement between your Princess and I."

The communication and security device was mounted back on his wrist and he turned to leave.

~~ The Darkest Night - Narrator - Departure from Calth ~~
After all business was conducted, newcomers settled in and both Phyrrus as well as Denton cleared for combat once more, The Darkest Night made for it's departure. Once far enough from the orbital shipyards, the navigator guided by Astropaths to travel beyond the Astronomicon. It was a perilous path anytime one would wander the warp. But to go beyond the light the Emperor, that was a complete different level of danger. The Mechanicus stood ready, not idle, to govern the Gellarfield Generator and Warp Drive and ensure that the travels were as safe as possible, while elements of the Ministorum that happened to be on-board, blessed individuals against the potential wickedness that was to be faced.

All the while, the Inquisitors and their entire retinue was present on the bridge and maintain a high alert in case the slightest failure was to happen, such as a dent in the gellarfield.

The travel like so often under the warp appeared for most individuals of different length. As they moved through the alternate dimension there happened to be dents in the shield on various decks and the inquisitor retinue was sent to deal with the potential chaos incursions. However, for the first half of the travel nothing eventful had happened, the materializations having not happened.

But it was to what most guessed, or hoped, to be near the end of their journey when there was an actual breach of the gellarfield. Amidst the shuttle bay a small group of daemons manifested. Some members of the boarding crew were immediately overwhelmed by the madness of the figures they gazed upon, others were smart, or cowards enough to simply turn their back while the warp whirlwind formed and rushed out. When the inquisition's forces appeared with their Stormseer and Primaris Psyker on the front.

The plan was simple and easy, those with psychic powers would focus on shutting down the portal, while the others fought the incoming waves of other-dimensional beings. Monsters of various shapes and forms crawled, ran and jumped forth only to be either cut down or shot apart. Despite their different backgrounds and allegiances they shared the fight equally. Denton and Alnar using their ranged weaponry at each other's side, while Red and Tyr used their respective blades to control the melee.

Frederick had to concede to his lack of banishment powers but unleashed the long held back and controlled forces of destruction, blasting three daemons back into their dimension as they were about to leap at Gansukh. Shortly afterwards, the Stormseer managed to close the portal, causing the other beings to dissipate into nothingness with no energy present to keep them in the realspace of The Darkest Night.

Four more such incursions occured, each time more personnel perishing and even taking a severe toll on the Inquisitorial retinue, Phyrrus being one such example who was severely wounded but managed to save his own life by the thickness of a hair. Others might be spurred by random thought of betrayal to their comrades and causing them agony. By the end of the day, through the faith and comradery earned in combat and reinforced by individuals that were spiritually closer to their home, or the God-Emperor, such intense corruption was either held at bay or even completely annihilated within the retinue. However, it was left to see how strong the seed of corruption was in the rest of the crew, especially those that witnessed and survived the daemon assaults.

Like the light at the end of the tunnel filled with hope, the vessel finally emerged back into realspace. With almost 10% of the crew dead, The Darkest Night was still fully operable and with the dangers of the warp behind, true damage assessment could begin and the high alert was reduced the moment the scans gave a positive on no Tyranid bio-signatures system wide. A lot would be able to rest properly, but not the Inquisitors, nor their retinue - including the Deathwatch of course.

The group gathered in the briefing room, a fresh scan of Tyran having come back. And surprisingly it had some patches of lush, green plains and scattered cities and villages. Interestingly enough the biggest city being right on top of the old mechanicus facilities. By humans as the population estimate based on deep scans came back at around one-hundred-thousand. Roughly 40,000 more people than a fully-operational Dauntless Light Cruiser crew, which was about the equivalent of their strike cruiser. Marcella spoke up first, having focused on getting the information right, while Amleth, Yuri and Varuuk had created some plans of deployment in the meanwhile.

"While it is known the warp can cause temporal disturbances, we are positive that we have merely travelled a few weeks after our departure. So far our Astropaths managed to establish connections with elements of the Imperium to have verified our assumptions. That being said. We could not establish communication with the humans on Tyran." Marcella stepped aside and gave the word to Varuuk.

"Diplomacy is not our strength and we are not sure if we are dealing with Humans of the Imperium of Mankind, traitors, renegades or possibly even someone who never heard the word of the Imperium. Thus none of us will accompany you in order to prepare our crew, vessel and ammunition for potential all-out-war. We cannot be found wanting. That said. You will deploy via Thunderhawk and two Valkyrie escorts. Figure out who wants to lead the diplomacy attempts or if you want to keep it as a 'collaborative' effort." Varuuk nodded, keeping his arms crossed as often.

"As we will attempt diplomacy, no shock collars will be attached to the aliens. Instead your techpriest, Lanius Skyruss, will be given an electro-weapon by Rygar Pox in order to keep them in check as needed. Also should any of the aliens be a danger or compromise of the mission, they shall be restrained and not killed." He nodded in the aliens general direction, but for just the slightest moment there was an eye contact with Alnar.

"Our plans may be delayed." Yuri started. "But have not changed. Find out as much as you can about this human faction, then return to us with said knowledge. Do not imply our goals here, they must be secret until either we know we can trust them, or in case we cannot, that we can conduct our research in secret. And worst case scenario of course we have to be ready to wipe them out in entirety. That said. Ready for deployment." The holo-desk was shut off, no room for questions left and the entire group being left to do as they see fit.

Red looked on his hands and arms resting upon each other and were crossed as the holodesk shut off he gritted his teeth slightly as he heard about the xenos being collar less upon this mission, It did not sit right with the Crusader.

Though it was not his place to question or argue with a inquisitor his job was to help keep the others safe as well as to destroy those that threatened man kind. Being left to there own devices and to compete the mission he began looking to those around him.

Shifting his weight he looked to each member of the retinue he was in, Lanius, Possible diplomat, might work thoguh he might have his hands full with the xenos, not to mention its possible these humans might set him off due to there villages building over the mechincus factories. Red's eyes then looked over to Denton there catachan, A good fighter and stealth expert he heard though this left his diplomacy skills in a unkown area as well, his skills might be better used watching out for hidden attackers or if possible scouting, demoltion or distractions if things went wrong.

Next of was Phyruss red had saw him injured in that breach so long ago it felt, Remembering it caused him a headache and the things he heard and saw made him preferred not remembering it, The Palatine was a good rifle men at holding the line, His diplomacy skills like Denton though were unknown to him. Though as a defender his job maybe more for holding the line and helping the team stay alive. Though red kept him in mind as a possible candidate.

Red's eyes passed over Phyruss then looked over to Fredrick there newest retinue member, A psyker that was quite polite from what he seen, and had also served the ultarmarines as a librarin it was a possiblity that he could make a good diplomat though Librarian skills do not necessarily transfer over to diplomacy, lying, and word crafting.

The crusader then turned his head his eyes going to the xenos only for a second before turning to death watch, his mind refusing to fully form the idea of using the xenos as diplomats to much risk. Red's own eyes moving to the astartes he wondered of there diplomat skills. The words angels of death coming to mind made him think several moments before reviewing each of them in his head.

Tyr Red had seen the space wolf momentarily in combat in the vid and had heard of his skills in combat, his skills at a word men like all of hte astarte were a unkown to the crusader, thoguh the reputation he had heard about his chapter as savage heros made him wonder, looking to gorepan as he saw him Red had heard of the minotaurs fearsome combat skills and his skills as a apothcary though like Tyr red had no knowledge of the Minotaur ability with words. Red's eyes going to the last astarte being Ganuskh The Crusader then possibly considered him as a possible diplomat, He had seen him descalte a situation with the captain and the xeno and his group when they were refueling at calth. Maybe Gansukh would be a adapt diplomat?

Shifting his weigh to his side his eyes went back to the holo projector a momentary urge to groan after his own tired body was still catching its breath after its time spent during the breaches helping defend from the horrors that lay in the warp.

looking back up he would look between the his group and the astartes. "So were going to be going on a diplomatic mission it seems, So out of all of us who or whomst is the best with words to be our diplomat?" Red asked no one in particular seemignly asking everyone.
