As they made ready for the tournament, Tyr just tied the robes around his hips, not wanting anything flowing about, and also to proudly flaunt his many battle scars, for weapons he just took a combat knife, though he normally just fought with his fists and punch knifed gauntlets, i would be good to have something to do quick blocks and parries with just in case it might be needed. Tyr then looked to Denton (@BadDo9 ) "can you hold yourself in a fight then human?" he asked brashly, Tyr wasn't used to team based fighting, and especially not with a human, even if he is a Catachan.
Phyrrus carefully removed his helmet, all the way returning the Ultramarine's dry smile. "I would indeed be interested in a proper contest of arms, my good captain.", he said with a tone of dry humor." My journeys of late have been long and suprisingly uneventful. Like any sword, martial skill becomes blunt, if not sharpened regularly through exacting training of body and mind. And who better to contend with, than the vaunted warriors of the Adeptus Astartes. It would imdeed be my pleasure and while I might not be able to defeat one such as you in a clash of swords", he unslung his ornately carved long las, passed down through his bloodline for countless generations,"a contest a range is another matter altogether."
'Coming my Lord the Crusader has the knowledge he requires' There was no one else that Cooper could assist, all other patrons from the delegation had either left or were already satisfied leaving but one, a towering Space Marine that Frederick identified as being one of the Minotaurs from the symbol on his shoulder Pauldron. He stood by the side of Iovita again planting his force stave quite firmly into the ground so that the implement would not slide if he rested upon it, he renewed his sense of composure as he closed his eyes and cleared his thoughts and waited for further instructions before his dismissal. Looking up at the Deathwatch Astartes it was hard not to feel intimidated by the presence of the Minotaur so Frederick then kept his head bowed and reverent until his services were requested and said nothing more.
It had worked so far, the method remained. Be like a ghost and remain undetected. He had little to lose here so if it came to violence it would be no mercy for the humans in his way. They had given him little reason for sympathy, they would not offer it here now either. A xeno in restricted areas, that was a death sentence. Same sentence would fall upon the mon'keigh if it came to that. Quick prayer to his pantheon before he acted.
@Grall_Stonefist Denton walked with the Space Wolf down to the armory, where he once more had to give up his weapons. He game a small grumble at that but moved around the place and grabbed what training weapons would suffice. A sword, a knife, a pistol and a long rifle. Analogues for everything. As he sheathed the blades and slung his rifle, he looked over at Tyr and gave a slightly feral smile. "Hold my own? That's an understatement." he chuckled a little, still grinning in anticipation.
~~ On the Orbital Shipyards of Calth - Still on The Darkest Night ~~ @Taec - Laeris, Dark Eldar (M) Trueborn ~~ Librarium - Codicer Librarian Iovita ~~ @Vulpas - Red Tarsinis, Human (M) Crusader @Tamu - Goreparan, Minotaur (SM) Apothecary @Donairian - Frederick Cooper, Human (M) Primaris Psyker Quite some time passed and Red Tarsinis finished his readings, Goreparan, Frederick and Iovita had chatted about various events regards the Minotaurs most recent deployments and the growing threat of Nurgle plagues developing around the Eye of Terror. Iovita put a gentle hand on Frederick's shoulder. "If you could guide both, the Crusader and our Space Marine guest to the training halls, that would be appreciated. I think books and talks can entertain these noble warriors only for so long. And although the tournament shall exclude them, they might learn something or get the opportunity to spar." "You may consider yourself dismissed for now. Tread carefully and act with Courage and Honour, Frederick." Iovita smiled and nodded to the psyker, before addressing other duties that required his attention, leaving the trio to themselves. ~~ Lower Decks - Narrator / Deathwatch Captain Varuuk ~~ @Maleth - Felthernia Nar'Therena, Starlen (F) Assassin @TuskatheDaemonKilla - Lanius Skyruss, Human (M) Tech Priest -- waiting on players -- ~~ Primary Docks - Narrator - Captain Learchus Abantes ~~ @KorCharon - Phyrrus Ataraxus, Terran (M) Palantine Sentinel "You will be quite alright. You walked on the same soil as the Emperor has. And besides. It would be a shame to such venerated weapon to be used for mere excercise than delivering death to His foes. So let us go. With training blade and rifle you shall join my side. And all wargear aside, your warrior spirit is far more important than the weapons put in your hand. Remember your training and act with righteousness, courage and honor. That will deliver victory." The captain re-assured the Sentinel and grinned now with confidence. He was definitely now looking forwards to best the other contenders with the ace up his sleeve he just received. Indeed the Emperor was smiling upon the captain. His hand rested on the hilt of his power sword as they walked through the docks towards the training halls. "As we walk, let me ask you something, Phyrrus Ataraxus. Imagine you are a Palantine Sentinel Captain, a whole company and some allies under your command to protect an Imperial world from an alien force. But let's assume you had served the Witch Hunters for a while, even made a good name amongst them. You stand shoulder-to-shoulder as a Palantine Sentinel with the Ordo Hereticus. But the leader of the Ordo Hereticus falls in the conflict. The only way to survive and make sure the imperial world does not fall, the Ordo Hereticus needs to assemble a strike force of maybe the best ten soldiers of them that can be spared." "You know you are talented, one of the best warriors on the entire planet currently. Will you stand by your Palantine Sentinels and lead them? Or will you abandon your leadership, take up the rank of a Witch Hunter for today and lead the strike force to ensure victory by leading them with a deep strike to assassinate the enemy foe and crush them?" As Learchus talked one could hear his passion about the topic. He was not as cold, distant and dry like before. But as if asking for guidance, wanting a clear answer that hopefully would agree with his view. As he explained the situation, there were a few glances towards the Terran which easily confirmed there was an underlying reason why he asked such thing. ~~ Imperial Navy Academia, Training Barracks - Master of the Fleet Lazlo Tiberius ~~ @BadDo9 - Denton 'Longfang' Reach, Catachan (M) Jungle Fighter @Grall_Stonefist - Tyr Nosebreaker, Space Wolf (SM) Grey Hunter "Good choices. Now that you are ready. Just step through that big gate there and fight your way through. If you can manage, you shall face the Captain in the finals." One of the guards said, having watched the two get ready, he definitely looked confused at their weapons choices and just said what he did to be nice about it. Denton and Tyr were led into the combat room where an Ultramarine in chapter appropriate robes stood, a longsword in his hand and a shield in the other. The human was armed with a mock Las-Rifle, but also had a combat knife on his belt. Both bowed in respect to their foreign warriors. The Ultramarine stepped forward towards Tyr, the human opposite of Denton. "Assault Brother Apraxus. I shall meet your ferocity with courage and honour, Space Wolf." The Ultramarine stated, banging his sword against his shield. "You are not from Ultramar." The human noted, raising an eyebrow at the Catachani. "Either way, my name is Rob Sang, Sergeant of the Ultramar Auxilia. May the better soldier be victorious." He bowed his head in respect to Denton. ~~ Communication Deck - Narrator ~~ @Wata - Alnar, Eldar (M) Corsair Reaver If Alnar has rolled imaginary dice in hope that Cegorach may grant him one more time his blessings, then he indeed rolled just fine. The Corsair moved swift as a horse with the silence of a snake. The Servitors either too occupied, or the Imperials too cocky in their safety protocols did not acknowledge him at all. As he maneuvered through the room, he spotted another door. It was left wide open and apparently another communications room with nobody inside. The alien slipped in and to his surprise found a whole row of consoles at the far end. They were all offline except for one. It looked no different than the ones in the prior room. Which left him to use the device handed by Varuuk earlier without a problem, and then utilize it to send a signal to the Void Dragons. While he was lucky enough to perform all this so far without any conflict, Alnar had to acknowledge that if he was spotted it could change in a heartbeat. And to make it worse, there was no alternative way out of this room but the same way he came from.
'Of course my Lord, I shall guide the delegation, representatives of the Ordo Xenos right this way please.' The Primaris psyker bowed slightly as he received his master's instruction, he furrowed his brow as he thought for a moment to recall a route to the academia training barracks from here, it was a fair distance away to avoid inconveniencing patrons of the Librarium. With his free hand Frederick beckoned to the crusader @Vulpas and the towering deathwatch @Tamu slowly backing away from the side of Iovita and turning to head towards an exit out of the Librarium using his force stave to aid his pace. As he went he explained what he remembered of the day's exercises in the Academia loud enough for the Crusader and the Minotaur to hear. 'If you might deign to follow me, I will take you to the Academia barracks, it will be a fair distance yet I know the way from this Librarium. If memory serves correctly Captain Lazlo Tiberius under his own wisdom is currently supervising Astartes and human synergistic strategy in the form of simulated combat.'
< @Uriel1339 @Grall_Stonefist > "You're perceptive." the Catachani said, giving the slightest not of his head in respect. He would respect the man more if he fought well. "Longfang, Catachan Jungle Fighters." he said simply, not about to give just anyone his full name. His warrior name would do for now. His eyes went from the human to the Ultramarine to the Space Wolf, his hands giving a slight twitch. He looked about the arena in order to familarise himself with the terrain and what obstacles there were. From there he would begin to determine if it was better to start by using his rife in this situation, or if he should simply charge in with blades drawn and attempt to overwhelm his opponent. His hands twitched again, eager to see what would happen.
Red as he finished his tome gave it back to the servitor to return to its place, He himself stretched for a few seconds getting the ache out after reading the tome, learning several new techniques he could use with shield sword, or a few other weapons of range, when defending someone. Noticing Fredrick beckoning over he nodded. "I shall, Can you tell Iovita, Thank you for access to his librarium and the old tomes he and his order have protected, after you have lead us to the barracks." For a moment Red thought about the barracks and a opportunity to spar with a astarte with blade, it might end in defeat for him but could be a learning experience. Red followed after Fredrick thinking on it as they went.
"Well, I suppose that hinges upon the topics up for discussion." Felthernia replied, taking an interest in the Imperial shipbuilding, eyes averting from Varuuk for the moment. A brief aside thought went to what the Imperials classified the ship currently under work before, considering the size of it and the amount of time going into it's repair. Still, she found her person of interest, so might as well start what she wanted, even if on a slow boil to avoid giving the game away. So she turned away from the ship under work, back to him and said "Even if this is the first time I've heard about this 'Omnissiah' figure, so who are they?"
