"Could be fun wrestling some of the sons of Ultrama, maybe show them a thing or too about Real fighting, sure they could learn a few things" was pretty much all Tyr added, Though he knew that the Minotaurs reasons might be different, he had heard the tale of what those highlord sniffers had done, and his favour was square with the decendents of Guilliman, telling himself to keep an eye of the minotaur. As they arived at the station, Tyr was one of the first ready to get off, even if that ment they might stand trial to some boring parade of rule shenanigan, he did have a curiosity, couse he was very sure it would be unlike the stations over Fenris, and the spartan and gloomy deathwatch stations
Alnar took the icon with a scowl. He practically snatched it and left the briefing room as soon as he could without saying another word. Another second aboard this ship and he might blow a gasket. Out to the shipyards he went, even if it might have been a very bad idea. Maybe by chance someone would stab him for being different and he would have an excuse to bleed out. On a more optimistic note, he could find a way to escape or contact his Craftworld/Corsair fleet somehow, despite the extremely slim possibilities of it. That or just steal a bottle of swill they call alcohol in Imperium.
@Uriel1339 Goreparan sighed before giving a nod. After the meeting was done he went back to the armory to don his war gear and make it more presentable. Goreparan finished a bit before they docked with the station and went along with the space wolf and the captain. If the Ultramarines did not come to look for trouble first then he would head to requisition the war gear he wanted before heading over to any medicae or apothecaries they had on the station to restock, get new chemicals and so on. Only after those vital tasks were done would he head over to either the dueling arena if challenged or the librarium if they had any on the station to glean more information about their next mission location and local areas. He would also make sure to cross check the inquisitorial and death watch records and information as he trusted none of the three sources to depict the whole truth or contain local insights.
Taking the icon from Amleth, Felthernia replied to his comment about preferring to stay aboard "Likewise, I have a feeling we'd all go a little stir-crazy if we stayed aboard, and cranky Aliens probably wouldn't make us the best you could offer, would they?" With that said, she went off to make herself look presentable, even making it clear that yes, she bore weaponry for self defence, and (begrudgingly) was 'owned' by someone at least, if that was necessary to allay any fears about her. So when the time came for the ship she was aboard to dock with the station, the Starlen took their leave, but more motivated by general curiosity, and corresponding information hunting. Even if she was careful to avoid presenting herself in a situation that would be.... Awkward to get out of without invoking either violence or who she was being backed by as a solution.
Lanius nodded his head at the conclusion of the meeting, he had been listening to the whisper of the xenos for a moment. Creatures plotting was of little significance to him, if they tried anything out of order either their collars would kill them or the crew of the station would. Troublesome animals should honestly be kept on a smaller leash but he wasn't about to argue with an inquisitor. Though perhaps minor observation could prove more interesting than exploring a station. He gave it some contemplation as he walked out of the briefing room, perhaps they would travel in a group and he could follow far behind them. When the ship actually docked and allowed them to enter the station Lucius took a moment to see where the xenos were headed and decided to follow the newest of the inquisitor's collection. He wasn't so sure of himself that he believed the feathered creature wouldn't notice him eventually but he figured he could at least follow unnoticed for a short time. Perhaps they would assume he was just a serf like that mistaken soldier earlier, the memory of being mistaken for it make him a little angry. He was quick to snuff out the emotion as he began his tailing of the avian being.
~~ On the Orbital Shipyards of Calth - Still on The Darkest Night ~~ @KorCharon - Phyrrus Ataraxus, Terran (M) Palantine Sentinel @Taec - Laeris, Dark Eldar (M) Trueborn ~~ General Departure of The Darkest Night crew unto the Shipyards ~~ Nobody would be greeted by some flashy parade or similar display of the 'superiority' the Ultramarines and the people of their realm like to display. None of the delegation would know if this was intentional to masque the presence of the Inquisition, maybe there was something greater at large going on? After all the Shipyards seemed not quite on standby, crewmen, tech priests and other officials rushing back and forth. The most logical conclusion by anyone would be that a strike force was being readied to be deployed. How big of scale was hard to tell as The Darkest Night has landed in a dedicated hangar with only smaller vessels present, majority of them look like they just finished the repairs and now they rushed them through the ammunition process. The Inquisitors would be noticed to be completely absent, deciding to remain on their vessel. Varuuk on the other hand was one of the first to leave. Where to was the question however. ~~ Librarium - Codicer Librarian Iovita ~~ @Vulpas - Red Tarsinis, Human (M) Crusader @Tamu - Goreparan, Minotaur (SM) Apothecary @Maleth - Felthernia Nar'Therena, Starlen (F) Assassin @TuskatheDaemonKilla - Lanius Skyruss, Human (M) Tech Priest @Donairian - Frederick Cooper, Human (M) Primaris Psyker Goreparan was the first to arrive in the conquest for knowledge, knowing the standard layouts of orbital shipyards like these and having a superior stride to his comrades-in-arms. But there was requirement of him getting logged by a scribe first. The local librarian in charge who was a Codicer demanded so, to have every visitor ever to be recorded. Outside of name and rank this included taking a pict and homeworld. Interesting enough just as the Apothecary's entry was completed, Red Tarsinis arrived. In the search for knowledge, every soldier and office on board this station has guided him towards the Librarium. This is, after all were all the knowledge was being recorded, that of the past, present and predictions for tomorrow. As Red finished and grouped up with Goreparan, a much more interesting sight caught them both. That of Felthernia, the recently released subject of Amleth. At first they believed her to be followed by Rygar, the Electro-Priest of the Inquisitor. But on closer observation it was their new techpriest under Marcella's command - Lanius. The scribe at first was confused by the presence of the alien, but dared not to question it when presented the icon of the inquisition, and the fact that the Space Marine a few feet away did allow the alien to breathe the same air. The two of them were logged as well and the four were led to the Librarian as they all came for the same thing: Information. Iovita greeted the delegation with his aide, Frederick Cooper - a Primaris Psyker who was currently serving the Librarian after he put a formal request of transfer in. The Ultramarine Librarian was small for an Astartes, only measuring just short of 7 feet. His hair was as white as the snow on the mountain tops of Macragge and he had a long beard that was brown at the base and gradually getting whiter the closer it came to his chest. "Unusual visitors. But welcome visitors." The older Marine said with a soft smile, it was surprising how much his age showed, especially for a Psyker. "My library is open for all of your searches, but I concluded that it might be faster if I simply answer any questions you might have. About Ultramar, our Segmentum, the people, recent history, or maybe you are interested in something else? Ask away and I shall answer, oh how rude of me..." He cleared his throat and then gestured to the human besides him. "This is Primaris Psyker Frederick Cooper. And I, your humble host, am Iovita, Codicer Librarian of the Ultramarines." He bowed his head slightly, his movements were slow and rugged. More akin to that of a Techpriest than a Space Marine. ~~ Imperial Navy Academia, Training Barracks - Master of the Fleet Lazlo Tiberius ~~ @BadDo9 - Denton 'Longfang' Reach, Catachan (M) Jungle Fighter @Grall_Stonefist - Tyr Nosebreaker, Space Wolf (SM) Grey Hunter Denton and Tyr marched together side-by-side with the same goal in mind. As they asked and made their way through the station, they were led to the Imperial barracks as joint exercises between the Ultramarines and the Imperial Navy were being held in face to their next deployment. Both warriors were led to Lazlo Tiberius on top of a cat walk right above the various chambers where Ultramarines and humans trained against simulated enemies or even sparring together. Tiberius was clad in ceremonial uniform, all sorts of medals and badges adorning his left chest as he greeted the two warriors with a smile. "Denton Reach, aka Longfang. And Tyr Nosebreaker of the Space Wolves. Lazlo Tiberius, Master of the Fleet - to your service." He made the sign of the Aquilla with his hands in greeting and then continued on, knowing very well already what they came for. "You wish to fight, yes? It is rare to have guests like you. And I'm sure the Captain wouldn't mind you aiding in the selection of some recruits for the Ultramarines, or the upcoming deployment. However I would like you two to stay together. As an example of Space Marines and humans working together. So I offer you to participate in one of the following four exercises." As he was explaining which was which, he was pointing at them and they could preview them. "1. We have a 'Defend the Outpost' situation. You have limited supplies and must hold against wave after wave of attackers until reinforcements arrive. There are three different enemies you can choose from. Tyranids. Orks and The Lost and Damned. In this excercise you can decide to show off and do it on your own, or take some Ultramarines and Navy Armsmen with you." "2. 'Search and Destroy'. You are entering an enemy occupied base and must destroy every single foe. You cannot allow them to escape. You can choose between a Genestealer cult, Tau or Dark Eldar as your foes. Again, do it on your own or take some Ultramarines and Navy Armsmen with you." "3. This one is a bit simpler, but real. We have a sparring tournament with two on two teams. Each consisting of one human and one Ultramarine. The Captain himself is participating once he readied himself. There will be in total sixteen teams making it four phases. Sixteen teams become eight teams. Eight teams become four. And finally out of those four only two teams will stand in the finals to determine the victor. The price is not just courage and honour, but also a gift from the forges of Calth to both victors. We created this event akin to the Feast of Blades from the Imperial Fists." "4. Last but not least, you can decide to challenge the Captain and his command squad with any of the present men outside of his squad to a simulated battle. The team with the last man standing wins." "Choose wisely and remember. You both must participate in the same event together, as a team." Lazo reminded them, hands folded behind his back, waiting patiently as the Space Wolf and Catachani were to discuss their options. ~~ Communication Deck - Narrator ~~ @Wata - Alnar, Eldar (M) Corsair Reaver NPC: Varuuk, Iron Hand (SM) Deathwatch Captain Alnar had managed to move undetected all the way to the communication deck having utilized service elevators and vents. But when he had to leave one vent to make further advancement through a separate tunnel, he found quite a surprise. Varuuk was there, too. Obviously in hiding as well, not even turning to Alnar he had acknowledged him long ago. "About time you made it here, alien." The Captain said not with disgust but disappointment in his voice. The Iron Hand made a glance around the corner, looking into a Vox-hub with a dozen techpriests being busy transcribing past messages into archives. "There will be a Rota for their shift change in thirty seconds." Varuuk said, now facing and approaching the alien, offering him a device. It was a long tube with an interface spike the Adeptus Mechanicus utilized. "It's a message. It must be inserted into the secure vox-channels near the Magos' office. All you have to do is insert it, wait until the red light turns green, then take it and get back here." "I do not know of your agenda, you don't know of mine. And we have never met. If you want to contact your Void Dragons, go ahead. But I promise you one thing, Alien. Perform this favor for me and I will make sure you get to them. Fail or betray me, and I will make sure all of you die." Varuuk's eyes were unwavering. While Alnar could sense and did know about the obvious intrigue, he could not sense malice coming from the Captain. As Alnar might glance again at the device, he also saw some sort of key that he was being handed. It was an access key that he had seen humans use before to open locked high security doors. This one was pitch black and bore the icon of the Inquisition. How many codes of all sorts of Imperial worlds it might hold?
"It is good to meet you Codicer Iota, and your assistant Fredrick" Red said bowing similarity to the space marine as he greeted him showing him a similar respect. "Indeed I do have a few question's if I may ask, Could I get some learn about more recent history of ultramr, events and the going ons of regular life within its realms, as well as learn a bit more about close combat fighting styles, of those within in its realm, doing a bit of research on the realms and its people and was interested in learning about them and fighting techniques, that may help better imrpove myself." Red said stating his questions to the Codicer Iota.
The Primaris Psyker watched the delegation approach, he remained silent and composed himself as he saw the one alien among them putting aside his experience of decades for the sake of professionalism, he was resting upon his Force Stave though he remained upright putting his weight on the grip. As he was introduced by his master Librarian Iovita he bowed slowly and gracefully spanning his left arm outwards towards the space marines while his right kept a firm grasp on his force stave, when his introduction was concluded he greeted the Imperials in front of him while ignoring the Xenos. 'It is humbling to meet you my lords, if you require knowledge I would be obligated to guide with my Lord's dispensation.'
Of course, one of them, the Astartes as they were called. They were a surprising breed in physical ability, not just anyone could have heard Alnar sneaking about. This one's appearance was not surprising, still ugly as sin with cumbersome looking armour. He contemplated if he could steal his knife and stab the marine's heart when he was spotted, instead what was offered surprised him further. Alnar didn't grab the device right away, he just scowled back. He reluctantly grabbed it. "Politics, typical." He slid closer to the corner, avoiding the Astartes by an arm's length as he did so, carefully peeking the way forward. "I do this and I find treachery, my soul will haunt and curse you till you die and after, mon-keigh." He didn't turn to look at Varuuk as he spoke. When the opportunity presented itself he took a deep breath and exhaled before sneaking onward, heading for the vox channels mentioned. If he had to kill people to get this done, well, he considered it to be collateral unavoidable damage. The humans didn't seem to much mourn the deaths of their lower kind if at all. Killing would be a last possible resort anyway. Anything to get back home.
As Felthernia came onto the station, she made a note of both that the largest of the leader-figures had taken leave from the ship, and that one of the red-robed figures who seemed to be favored by humans for technical duties, although the fact this particular one was with the other group also sparked off interest. Still, she had her interests to look for, but she may have to cut things short in order to investigate what Varuuk might be up to. After all, the agendas of those in charge could very well be something useful to know, or outright life-saving. Suffice to say, arriving at the Library (Librarium sounded somewhat archaic for her tastes) and despite the minor fiasco with the scribe, the Starlen was overall pleasantly surprised with how open they were being (even if how much of it was enforced civility she was not going to speculate on.) However it wasn't as if she could ask about certain subjects without drawing suspicion about why she wanted to know. So she said to the Librarian "Well, history can always be of insight, and not just that of recent events would be appreciated. After all, I'm fairly sure there's a universal saying about those that don't study the past." She bowed her head politely towards the Psyker that made their introduction to the assembled, as well as the Librarian.
