Tyr got up from his quick cover, it having served its purpose as he was no worse for wear, and his grenade had at the least incapacitated some Tau. Now with confident and precise strides, Tyr advanced on the remaining Tau force, his bolter up and taking all the shots he could spot, methodical and merciless.
@Uriel1339 Goreparan threw some grenades at the foes running towards the chapel as they would be unable to get in cover in their mad rush. After he had thrown the nades the Minotaur immediately took cover to defend against any counter fire. Once the storm of return fire had died down or paused he move forwards again towards the foe choosing once more to shoot those rushing at the chapel. OCC Free nade throw and 1 action at enemies going to chapel, 1 action for defense on self.
Hours have passed since the Deathwatch dropped from orbit unto the ground, shattering the mobilized Tau forces with the help from inside the ruined chapel. Under the leadership of Vissarya and the Inquisitorial aides the survivors have broken the incoming forces. United a counter attack was devised under Tyr's desire to shed more blood and fulfill the role the Space Wolves always had since their founding - to execute the Emperor's will. Reinforcements came just as the Governor's Palace was reached from the rest of the system, the absent Inquisitors having succeeded in their task to rally the system to destroy the Tau oppression. In the meanwhile, Amleth and the other infiltrators played cat and mouse with the crazed Commander with a race to the Ethereal. Rei sacrificed herself in the process of luring him away and in an attempt to kill him with her psychic powers. Both being believed dead, the group was determined more than ever before to kill the Ethereal and end it there and then. But when they arrived in the underground bunker they immediately fell under heavy fire and the elevator was shut down leaving them no way to retreat. Pinned down and outnumbered, Amleth's group fought a battle they could not win. To their luck, the Deathwatch is known for unconventional warfare. They made their way through the governor's palace and found the secret elevator. Not even the local Techmarine managed to override the securities as they were on lockdown and so Goreparan came up with the only logical move - to jump. The Power Armor would absorb most, if not all damage from the jump. Red, Vissarya and Macharius jumped on the backs of the Space Marines to be taken down. Arleen would aid inside the governor's palace to setup a triage, fulfilling her duty she has sworn to her order. Where Alnar and Laeris suspected enemies, they were pleasantly surprised to see reinforcements join their ranks. With Obiken and his Multi-Melta, the enemy barricades were wrecked before the other Astartes moved in, offering a moment for the mortals and aliens amidst them to move into better cover and barrage the enemy. Only Denton, not desiring to be outdone by so called 'Angels of Death' moved as well into Melee, delivering righteous death. Macharius tactical shots combined with Vissarya's ferocity made short work of a flanking attempt of a small squad of Pathfinders with Pulse Carbines. The fight was quickly over, but hard fought for. Ending with Amleth having a leg blasted off from a pulse grenade and Obiken having taken an explosion to the chest from a smart missile volley, caused severe wounds and leaving even a gaping hole in his chest. Only thanks to Goreparan, he did survive that day. Tyr ironically was the least wounded of the Astartes and even gave Denton a nod of approval for his combat style. If circumstances would had been different, he would have made a grand Space Wolf with a true saga that would be always remembered. Alas, his fate was a different one. The Catachani first had delivered his last shotgun shell into the head of a Firewarrior before a XV-25 would assault him with a burst rifle. First using the dead Tau as a shield to get close up, then jumping on the fleeting battlesuit - clinging with one hand onto it before driving his vicious blade deeply through the foreign material and into the pilot. Alnar and Laeris, while having fought as valiant, would not be ever acknowledged by the Imperial kin. The Eldar, albeit of different backgrounds, fought shoulder to shoulder like one may tell of the Battle of Duriel. Except their enemy were the Tau in this scenario. Their fighting styles combined well and by throwing away their care about the humans, they fought like Eldar would. Swift, almost unseen, barely predictable. The Tau failed clearly to hit either one as they were slaughtered by blade and shuriken. And when only the Ethereal remained, Tyr found it unworthy to kill an unarmed non-warrior. Alas, Macharius would be the executioner of the day and deliver a single efficient shot to the head of the alien leader, ending the revolt and occupation once and for all. The Inquisitors and their retinue were recalled to their vessel, though to their disdain the corpse of Rei nor the presumed dead Tau commander could not be recovered. The planetary governor position was handed over to one of the other worlds who would make sure that Klarheit II would be re-integrated into Imperial society - no matter the cost, no matter the sacrifice. And to ensure that, the Adeptus Administratum would keep stronger controls and check ups on every single world of the Klarheit system. Due to the success of the cell of Inquisitors Amleth, Yuri and Marcella in conjunction with Captain Varuuk - it was ordered that the cell would continue to operate together. And thus they converged on the Ultramarine world of Calth - known for their massive shipyards. While the Ordo Xenos believed this team to work great, there was growth of disdain between the Inquisitors. Amleth's move and unnecessary risk being frowned upon even by his fellow human adversaries. Especially since Rei had been sacrificed in the process. Obiken would receive a call from his chapter that he was needed for a deployment to the Eye of Terror - his chapter master himself demanding his presence. With a secret code that only he had deciphered based on the time and date it had been sent. 0606 on the 6th solar cycle of Terra. For most it would mean nothing. For an Exorcist - it meant the world. Thus Varuuk relieved him of his oath of the Deathwatch and allowed him to return. While Sirius recovered well, he too, received a call from his chapter master - Azariah Kyras. There was an internal revolt threatening to destroy the Blood Ravens from within. And thus he went on his way to Aurelia. Ruine on the other hand had completed his oath to the Deathwatch for this term and returned to his brethren at the Phalanx to share his knowledge that he has earned in the ranks of the alien hunters. That left the Deathwatch with Varuuk, Tyr and Goreparan. Vissarya declined the invitation of the Ordo Xenos, believing that the Emperor's will is better executed on the sides of her sisters. And she wished to see the church to St. Katherine rebuilt. Arleen also believed to be of better use elsewhere and returned wherever the Felinid's healing hands might be needed. Macharius was needed for a classified assignment by a Lordling on Terra which came along with a lifting of his duty to the Ordo Xenos signed by various Inquisitors. The reports and analysis by Yuri of Karack 'rewarded' him with special psychic training by an adversary of Yuri. Someone who would be able to teach him to properly use his skills. And with Amleth's increased infamy he had no leverage to decline such request. Perhaps Yuri was sincere and wanted to improve the alien's potential. Perhaps it was a way to take power from Amleth. Or it was a mere 'eye for an eye' for having sacrificed a human psyker, his alien slave psyker would had to be taken. Inquisitor politics were never clear. And not trusting Amleth with the only Techpriest of the retinue, a new one freshly added from supply fleets that came in was attached to Marcella. A Techpriest with a file covered in encrypted and classified records by the name of Lanius Skyruss. This left the remaining humans with Techpriest Rygar Pox, Crusader Red Tarsinis, Survivalist Catachani Denton Longfang and the Inquisitors Sascha Yuri Gorbachev, Marcella Brigitte de Provence and Amleth. And under Amleth he was left with Alnar and Laeris under his coat. What would await them on Calth was yet to be seen, but the remnants of the group were together in the cells' flagship, awaiting the warp to spit them out. OOC: Interact with each other! And even if it's just small talk. Basically make up what happened during the mission after the timeskip, share deeds of past battles. Just bond. The whole point of a RP is for players to play together. Not to just interact with NPCs and overcome challenges (aka kill every enemy). That is an order, not a suggestion! Red was in robes and bandages, Several parts of his flesh burnt and new scars were added to his body a bandage across his face arms and even chest, all over plasma burn wounds from the battle with the tau, Making his way to the armory he had to wonder what was his status on his gear being repaired or replace, after the battle he was sure his armor was only being held together from a combination of the armors machine spirits and his own faith, and field repairs from locals on the ground. Heading to the armory he spotted a new face that would be on there team @TuskatheDaemonKilla "You there are you Lanius new member of our team?" Red asked looking to Lanius. "If so welcome to the team." Red said greetings the tech priest.
Lanius was busy examining data slates about the contents of the ship's armory, the red lenses that had replaces his eyes emoting nothing. His face was covered by a respirator mask preventing even the slightest expression, this was good in his opinion. Emotion was a weakness of the flesh after all and he sought to ascertain perfection of mind and body through the perfection of the machine. That however did not make this work feel less tedious, to be brought here on the whim of that inquisitor instead of being left in his laboratory. A sigh would make its way up the tube that connected the respirator to his machine assisted lungs as he heard footsteps. "Your inquiry and immediate answer to it make your statement redundant but the sentiment is appreciated." His synthetic voice said as the speaker vibrated softly. His eyes immediately began to examine the man, previous data designated the man as Red. Interesting, a name that is simply the name of a hue which happened to be the same as his robes and Mars itself. Simplistic but effective, Lanius figured he might like this man. "Do you have a purpose here? Your armor appears to be in need of immediate repair." @Vulpas
Out of the boredom of being back in the quiet following the battle, Laeris decided to make his way around the mon’keigh vessel that he now found himself on. As he explored it, it intrigued him how such a primitive vessel could function. The disdain of the vermin as he walked around amused him the most of all. Any of them could be dead within a second if he so wished, and this made him smile. He had taken off his helmet so that he could stare down at the humans and make them squirm with eye contact. On his way around, he reached the armory. Hearing voices, he stopped by the entrance, his cape falling to the floor as he halted. He turned his head to observe the mon’keigh that were talking, and stood looking down his nose at them, waiting for their reaction to his presence. He needed a way to amuse himself after all, and these primitives could provide a source of entertainment, at least until he found the other eldar again. @Vulpas @TuskatheDaemonKilla
The mon'keigh didn't much care for Alnar and he didn't much care about them. As such it was rather pointless to seek out company or any kind of solace from them. He mostly had stayed inside his quarters, writing thoughts down and trying to come up with poetry. After a few hours the work got frustrating and he put his little book away. The Corsair took his bottle graciously given by his "handlers" and went for a walk. Intentions were to walk enough until he found a good view, possibly, or a quiet enough spot to drink and sulk quietly.
@Grall_Stonefist @Uriel1339 As the forces in the chapel counterattacked goreparan made sure no tau left the field alive. Afterwards when the cleanup was done and a counter attack plan was being made by the others he simply kept quiet knowing that at the end of the no matter what the plan it would boil down to storming the palace and no matter how they devised it the cost would be high hence he kept quiet and readied himself. The rest was the usual slog of battle made worst by having to help and wait on the non-augmented humans that made of the rest of the counter force. Eventually they broke through and either by luck or as some of the others called it the will of the emperor they found a secret elevator which could not be operated. Even as the others bickered as the techmarine could not bypass or force the system the minotaur heard some sounds of fighting down below and after yelling at the rest to get them to listen to his move he did the only logical option left he jumped. The rest was once more the usual dry slog of battle unlike the time in the ship where the minotaur could test his strength and show his tactics the rest of the battles since then had been bland and the enemies and their tactis regardless of more advanced and bigger battlesuits had been too weak, in the open field or the semi enclosed streets and alleyways filled with rubble there was simply too much space for the minotaur to maneuver and carry out repeated hammer and anvil variation tactics that confounded both humans and space marines from the other chapters let alone the tau who looked down on such tactics they deemed simple and reactive. Even as he remained on the battle they had fought nearly an hour or so ago the minotaur continued to do what he was re-forged for, what he was trained for he killed like an unstoppable beast from the darkest reassess of one’s nightmares. By the time they had joined the rouge inquisitors forces the minotaur was too far gone into his programing and instincts due to the dull fights and useless bickering around him making him chose to lose himself and force the others to act rather than waste time. This however didn’t mean that goreparan had lost control, rather it made it more like he was controlling his body like a remote-control machine with everything else but the completion of the mission being secondary including his own safety. Despite this his many years as a apothecary did manage to influence him so that he carried out his other duties when the need arose like with saving obiken. In this state goreparan was quiet with no words, no acknowledgement or signs of humanity coming from nothing but silence and death. Eventually the mission was over and minotaur returned to his old self only to see the others evenly leave. As for any questions, anger or other things the minotaur waited in the hanger bay having returned the gene seeds and given up his arms and armor for repairs. Using a com bead, he contacted Varuuk and Tyr to know their location and plans. “Captain varuuk, space wolf any thoughts on the mission? I wish to gather to thoughts and opinion and afterwards the thoughts and opinion of whoever else is left so that I can improve myself and our team work. I assume by now it is only us three left unless you two are leaving as well? Regardless give me your thougts while you are still here”
Longfang had been in the armory, wiping down his sniper rifle and cleaning off his blades, though he had left before anyone else arrived. The Catachan kept his gear with him, not trusting them to any quartermaster or otherwise. His mind worked through the last mission and the 'praise' of the look that the Space Wolf had given him. Though others might fawn over that, Longfang didn't want to give it much thought - not unless the astartes came to him. As well, he noticed one of the inquisitor's Eldar pets causing trouble, and resisted the urge to create his own brand of... trouble. Amleth might not have appreciated that, and as much as he held distaste, at least they didn't try and kill anyone. Yet. As he walked, he noticed the other Eldar moving around with a bottle in his grip. Something about that look seemed rather lost, and the human smirked. Perhaps there was something... he maneuvered his path to walk next to the Xeno and didn't even look at him as he spoke. "There's a deck not many people go to. Nice view. Perfect for what you seem to be looking for." the warrior said, having experienced the exact same thing time and time again.
"Indeed I do Lanius, I wanted to see how the repair goes, Those Vile Tau did a number of my arms and armaments and I have been somewhat curious if they will be finished when we reach our next destination, Hopefully before the next mission." Red said looking to Lanius, "Hmmm If you mind could I ask possibly Lanius, If you work within your own order on armor and weapons?" Red asked wondering if Lanius worked on gear like his own maybe he could ask for a tune up on is own gear?
