~~ Earlier Kill-Team Deathwatch ~~ Spoiler @Grall_Stonefist - Tyr Nosebreaker, Space Wolf Grey Hunter (Tactical) @SpeceralWolfe - Ruine Master, Imperial Fist Assault @WanderingJester - Obiken, Exorcist Techmarine @Tamu - Goreparan, Minotaur Apothecary The four Space Marines would be on their own however as that is all that had been requisitioned by the captain. Either he had faith in them and their abilities, or he wanted to raise the stakes. Either way, there was little choice but load the drop pod up and deploy. The team agreed at the location right on an emplacement of Tau Snipers from where they would clean up the Tau from the rear, allowing the locals in the church to take care of the rest of the Tau. After all, no tanks or aerial vehicles had been reported so far. The countdown of the drop pod began from a T-30 seconds, as the strike cruiser got in position to jettison the Marines into the heart of the enemy, giving them a small portion of time for prayers and mental preparation. Team Heroes of the Imperium + Kill-Team Deathwatch Spoiler @bossaroo - Macharius, Stormtrooper @Maleth - Arleen Herithorn, Felinid Hospitaller @Vulpas - Red Tarsinis, Crusader @Valonox - Vissarya, Sister Superior @Grall_Stonefist - Tyr Nosebreaker, Space Wolf Grey Hunter (Tactical) @SpeceralWolfe - Ruine Master, Imperial Fist Assault @WanderingJester - Obiken, Exorcist Techmarine @Tamu - Goreparan, Minotaur Apothecary The survivors did as the Sister instructed. The altarboy and some of the women volunteered for the supply run, carrying ammo whenever needed to where it was needed. The benches, rubble and other loose items have been pushed to the walls to serve as blockade, but leaving just small enough gaps to see and shoot through. The dust finally began to settle, but it was not the imperials who started the fight. A blue beam shot through the broken window, hitting a man right in the head and leaving only a stump of a neck where it used to be. The man next to him ducked and yelled. "Snipers!" Causing everyone to immediately take cover, a few more beams struck but killed none. Vissarya, Red and Macharius finally managed to get to the wall with the snipers and take a quick glance only to see in the distance a pitch black drop pod to land right on the heads of the snipers location. Which was good news, but on the other hand - enough time was bought for the Tau to almost reach the chapel. The Kill-Team barely got out of their drop pod when fire started to hail their way. The Drop pod and debris offered cover, but it would not last long and the Astartes would have to do something about it soon. Not sure if Firestorm would get shattered or even more angry from it. But. It sounds like a good plan, so let's go with that. Based on our experience and the shockwave that just passed, my bet would be that he is hiding in his secret bunker. Sooooo let's head there. Off to the nearest elevator!" Amleth said with enthusiasm, bolt pistol in his hand. He led the group out of the room and reached a two-way hallway. Left or right. Just as Amleth put a foot towards the left, a rumbling was heard at the end of the hallway and then the ceiling broke in. An only too familiar battlesuit appeared and Amleth ran like the wind down the other hallway. "Run! RUN!" He screamed at the rest of the team as the reconfigured battlesuit fired a salvo of missiles in their direction. Only the hallway took damage, but Firestorm was readying his plasma rifle as he marched towards the group. OOC: Rei and Karack can use their psychic powers. Everyone has their standard gear as per character sheet - minus grenades and other explosives. Longfang scowled at the inquisitor and the battlesuit, growling at this whole predicament. Swords and Knives wouldn't be of any use unless there was a distraction or he could set up an ambush. And an ambush couldn't happen unless there was some sort of blind corner. So with a growl he raised up his sniper rifle, aiming two shots. One for the plasma rifle and then one for the head, before he would turn and run. However, if others took up arms he would as well stay and fight, spending more time on his aim. He was a good sniper, but in the heat of battle and in this close of quarters, one could only do so much so fast.
Red smiled under his helmet as he spotted the Drop pods, "Seems our reinforcements is making planet fall, The emperor's Angels of death themselves are here to help stomp out this xenos threat." Red said as he took cover near the wall, taking his bolt pistol in both hands he would take a position and begin firing his bolt pistol at the tau coming for the cathedral in a attempt to slow, or take some of them out. OOC Balanced attack on the Tau assault force coming towards the Cathedral. One defence on red and one attack with bolt pistol at the oncoming tau.
As they came under fire almost instantaneously with disembarking from the drop pod, Tyr had to admit that the Tau, at least right now reacted with the gusto of a worthy opponent. He immediately went for cover behind of some rocky debris that was able to block the enemy fire for at least a few moments, afterwards he took a frag grenade from his belt and threw it towards the psuedo memorized position where the Tau where gunning at them to try and create atleast a moment of respite where they could answer back with bolt and fury. OOC: double defence on self + frag grenade thrown
@Uriel1339 Upon getting out from the drop pod goreparan did a quick scan with his helmets systems and memorized the general locations of the enemy fire warriors. When enemy fire was directed towards them the minotaur calmly took cover behind the drop pod before locating another more suitable piece of cover. One that was done he dashed out from the drop pod occasionally shooting with his bolter at the more exposed tau going for the chapel knowing that the ones at the drop site could be taken care of by the rest of the kill team. OCC; 1 attack on the tau attacking the chapel and 1 defense on self
"Can't we just kill that thing already?" Alnar grumbled and fired a brief volley of shuriken at it. He wasn't about to stay any longer, his life wasn't worth giving for the matters of humans. This Ethereal better be found fast so he can get back to brooding and drinking.

Obiken teased Tyr after the grenade was flung, emerging out of the cover and blasting his Multi-Melta at the closest cluster of enemies. However the range was limited. But at least it scared the Tau enough off for Ruine and Goreparan to get into position to carry the fight to the Tau. And in fact it was Goreparan who would lead the assault, taking five big strides forward and then coming to a stop to deliver death with his bolter from behind cover. There were two confirmed kills from the Apothecary as Ruine was giving sporadic fire support in the meanwhile, waiting for Tyr to get ready to storm the front. The grenade itself caused unknown damage to the enemy forces, but there were less plasma shots than before. Then Goreparan changed his targeting, dropping two Tau that were marching to the chapel before he himself had to take cover again. But his bulky form allowed for a few shots to damage his armor, taking the risk for the team. Vissarya grinned at the unfolding of the battle and rose her bolter, standing in the face of the attack without fear. "Let the purging light of the Emperor's Grace strike upon our foes! The vile xenos! They pay us a visit and we shall repay them with death!" Standing next to Red she could easily pick out the targets that got scared by the bolt shots, finishing what Tarsinis couldn't. Macharius in the meanwhile led with grand example of how to operate the imperial gear. Popping out from his cover only once he was ready to shoot, taking a quick aim and delivering multiple salvos until the enemy targeted him. The soldiers around him attempted the same, but one lost his head and another got a severe wound to his shoulder. The enemy was bleeding just as they were, the question was who would falter first. The Tau, now being caught in the open, started to rush further in, knowing their advantage was in numbers. And while running reduced their accuracy, they mostly just had to keep suppression fire up to close down in distance. They were better equipped than the Chapel defenders and outnumbered them vastly. Red would feel the prowess of the Kauyon as he was ready to take another shot, only to receive a grazing shot across his face. It hit barely the side of his helmet, but enough to leave a potential scar on the cheek and make a burn massive enough to hurt flesh and skin. One could imagine the sensation of the flesh being eaten away and leaving nothing but burning pain. Arleen would have rushed to his side, but was helping the guardsman with the shoulder wound first to get him back into combat. Amleth yelled over, seeing Rei snarl and turn on her heel to face the battlesuit. The inquisitor knew some had to do what they had to do, but his agenda was to stick to the plan they just came up with: Kill the Ethereal. And so he kept rushing on. Karack noticed that the fellow psyker stopped in her tracks and he took stance next to her, extending his arm claws. "One fights. Tribe fights." "So I'm not the only one with a death wish." Rei chuckled, having her several daggers float behind her as she channeled her psychic powers. Karack started to chant in his own language, one hand in his rune bag, the other extended like a warrior ready to strike with his blade. Laeris, not being as suicidal, took his chances with the Inquisitor and followed suit. Alnar and Longfang had the option to take their chance with the psykers, but like most sane warriors on the battlefield one would want to stay behind the psykers to not get caught in their volatile powers. The shots of Alnar and Denton just bounced off the Commander, raising his plasma rifle and giving a few shots in their directions, burning the left shoulder of Rei and almost hitting Alnar right in the chest, was it not for his above-human reflexes. OOC: Rei and Karack can use their psychic powers. Everyone has their standard gear as per character sheet - minus grenades and other explosives. "Red gritted his teeth as plasma burnt through the side of his helmet causing him to take cover, His teeth gritted together as he felt the pain, Resisting the urge to bark out slurs and instead focusing on his fury he would unleash on the xenos, Working silently he went to his belt and grabbed a frag grenade, and looking over to the charging xenos he tossed a frag before ducking back into cover. reloading his bolt pistol as he did. OOC one attack on tau being the greande thrown at them, One defence on red.
Laeris’ decision to follow the inquisitor had been one made based solely on his own survival. As he ran, he considered taking shots at the tau behind him, just as others had done, but decided this would be a waste. He carried on running, shard carbine in hand and cape flowing behind him. He caught up with the inquisitor and turned his head slightly to ask a question. “How do you intend to deal with this threat if it keeps following Mon..inquisitor?” He stopped himself from disrespecting the human, despite his dissaproval of all the plans it had come up with up to this point.
Longfang growled a little as his shot simply bounced off the Tau armor, while the inquisitor continued to run. "What an example." the Catachan spat in disdain, though backed off a little behind the psykers. He kept his rifle up and at the ready, growling a little as he tried to sight in. "This may very well be fruitless... if we can slow him down, we'll have a chance to get out of here. Destroying him outright would be better.." he glanced at the psykers, needing to see what they would do before he acted.
