"I bet She found you tasty." Alnar muttered and threw the hand away disgusted. He vaguely heard Amleth shouting something and then there was the incoming vox transmission about the capital ship. He groaned and stood up, trying to stay out of the battlesuit's sights. If Karack managed to lure it over to the cables he could run tackle it from behind closer to the cables.
Vissarya stayed quiet whilst the Tech-Priest spoke but when they saw the ship rattling down she looked at the priest and spoke. "I suggest we move from this position and at least get to ground." Vissarya grabbed her spear then stood up, she lent out her hand for the Tech-Priest to help her up.
Denton seemed to scoff at what he found, but ignored the drones for favor of the cart. He didn't think they would come in handy. He did his best to find something that he could use as a weapon or something he could make into a weapon before he would try to return. He wasn't a deserter, and this whole facade brought by the Inquisitor had caused this.
@Uriel1339 Goreparan rushed into Valkyrie and seeing that the space wolf was ready to provide cover as was needed he focused his attention on the medical reports flashing trough his helmet. As he was doing that he simenstionaly went to a seat and prepared serums to heal the entire group. "Whats the word of the other group? How much impact is our actions having?" he asked the tech marine.
~~ Kill-Team Deathwatch ~~ Spoiler @Grall_Stonefist - Tyr Nosebreaker, Space Wolf Grey Hunter (Tactical) @Kalle - Sirius, Blood Raven Tactical @SpeceralWolfe - Ruine Master, Imperial Fist Assault @WanderingJester - Obiken, Exorcist Techmarine @Tamu - Goreparan, Minotaur Apothecary "Affirmative, Son of Russ." Rygar replied to the Space Wolf. All sorts of warnings flashing across the Valkyria already. "Calculations indicate severe destruction. Numbers of allies unknown. Collateral damage 100% possibility. No updates received since your deployment." The techpriest replied with the emotions equal to a rock. Obiken and Varuuk finally managed to get their foot on the Valkyrie. Ruine was cutting it close enough that he had to leap and managed only his upper torso on the ramp. Almost sliding off, he got dragged in by Tyr who stood at standby. The Space Wolf dragged the Imperial Fist in with one hand, as his other was busy operating a bolt pistol which took down a following Fire Warrior. The ramp finally started to close and the Valkyrie to distance itself. Being already in the first layers of the atmosphere, the engines struggled to accelerate and push them back outside of the drag from the falling space ship and the gravity. The Techpriest repeated litanies in prayers to the machine with his vox-speakers on maximum volume as if to enhance his prayers and blessings. The Valkyrie's engines screeched and the wings flapped, adjusting for the almost non-existing air. The vessel struggled and the metal started to struggle. Finally having recovered properly, Obiken joined Rygar's prayers to the machine god and the spirit of their very vessel. Varuuk in sentiment put his hand against the inner hull of the Valkyrie and closed his eyes, simply repeating the litanies of Obiken. The iron might be strong compared to the flesh. But nonetheless, it too would need encouragement like a soldier on the frontlines. And with the praying trio, the vessel at last made progress towards space. Foot by foot it distanced further from the world beneath and into the safety of the void. The Space Marines would witness various escape pods having launched, but no Barracudas, Mantas or other void vessels. Though they might not be able to witness the explosion, but it was certain that there was no escape for the Tau. "Regroup. Then deploy. I just hope we didn't take too long to bore Inquisitor Amleth." Varuuk laughed full-heartedly as he took a seat, his prayers no longer needed. "Fret not, milord." Rygar interjected. "They long have been on the surface. He used his psykers to transport them through the warp to the surface." The Iron Hand Captain's smile faded to a frown, his hands tensing to fists. Was he not so respectful to machines he would have hit a dent into the wall. "Get us on the ship, so we can assess the situation. And tell them to ready a drop pod." The Iron Hand huffed through his nostrils. Although everyone could tell he was not done fighting, everyone present could easily tell that he should remain on the vessel and get treated before deploying again. Not just was his armor damaged, but he also suffered numerous severe wounds. But I shall remain here. It is my sacred duty." The techpriest responded, getting up on his own and making his way over to the hidden shield generator as the vessels came falling down. "You should get inside, in case I fail." He said serious, even giving Vissarya a stern look, before integrating himself through his mechadendrites to the shield generator. He was alternating the power flow and injecting his own into the generator, re-directing the shield towards where the explosion would occur. "Safe place? No. That is why we bunkered down in the chapel!" The father yelled at Red. Panic written all over his face. "Quick, away from the window!" He added, rushing out the door he just came through. Once there he yelled several orders at the assembly of people. Women and children gathered in the center, huddling between some benches. The men, except the old and rather weak father, took other benches and got them as quick as possible pushed against the windows to prevent debris from entering. They were all ready to face death. But yet, the majority of the men were smiling, various exchanges could be heard. "They got so desperate, they have to hurl their ships at us!" "It was an honor fighting along the Emperor's finest." "We gave them a fight worth of the Emperor's hammer!" Arleen would stand by the women and children, praying for all of those within the church. She might be an Abhuman. But first and foremost she was a Sister of the Ordo Hospitaller. Macharius on the other hand was busy protecting the child from before with his own body as the little boy had run up to him in fear, clinging to the Stormtrooper who fixed his baneblade toy. Moments later the ships at last came down. Several miles out, with nobody at a window to watch when it would at last happen - except for the techpriest on the roof. The detonation shook the temple, dust crumbling and coming through the ceiling, raining on the people within the church. An earthquake rumbled through the ground next, shaking everything inside the church. The bell in the tower ringing loudly through the whole building. Chalices, candleholders and other ritualistic items started to fall from their places on the ground. Soldiers groaning as they kept the makeshift barricades pressed against the windows which yet were holding albeit extreme vibrations. Atop the church roof the generator was buzzing and glowing bright, the techpriest screeching and cursing in Techna-Lingua. He gave his very life to the generator as it struggled to keep the heat and detonation at bay. His voice being outdone by the church bell which was going to fall off if it continued to be so strongly thrown about. His eyes spotted one large object being thrown in his direction, the void shield flashing for a moment as it penetrated it. The eyes widened, but his words were cut off as the massive piece of alien hull ripped the statue of Saint Katherine along with the shield generator and the elder techpriest. With both gone, the church and the people inside were defenseless. An after quake followed a final shockwave as a massive explosion in the distance could be heard. All the glasses portraying various events that represented some of the imperiums greatest moments - all gone and shattered over the heads of the brave soldiers before the pieces fell to the ground and all over the holy grounds. Howling winds entered and scattered the fallen items and blowing candles out - bringing darkness. Some portraits fell, but the altar and the statue of Saint Katherine and the God-Emperor before it stood vigilant against the wind, shock waves and earthquakes. And only a few minutes later, which for some might have felt like an eternity, it at last came to an end. The shield generator had absorbed the vast majority of the detonation and allowed only minor damage, compared to the remains of the city. Once everyone calmed down, they would notice that everyone inside had survived well and without any serious injuries except some of the survivors having gained some cuts from the fallen glass. The preacher was obviously in shock, embracing Frederick the mute altar boy tightly. Just like many women held their children who clung to them in return. The men gave each other brotherly embraces, glad to yet live another day to fight the xenos. And like moths to the light, all those who had a gun gathered naturally around Red and Macharius. Team Defector Spoiler @BadDo9 - Denton 'Longfang' Reach, Catachan @Colapse - Rei, Telekinetic Psyker @BuriasDempsey - Karack 'Smiley', Verathian Ghost-Tooth (Psyker) @Wata - Alnar, Eldar Corsair Reaver @Taec - Laeris, Dark Eldar Trueborn Smiley gave it one strong push before planting one foot on the chest of his foes battlesuit, to propel himself off. And it did work, although the intended push effect was much less than hoped for. But it was still enough to roll under an attack and get behind the battlesuit, allowing the Verathian to rush towards Laeris and Amleth. The battlesuit saw the psyker-alien apparently as a high level threat, willing to risk the electrocution in order to eliminate the target. He marched forward, building up speed while the mechadendrites loaded with syringes whirred to life, ready to strike. Rei just managed to get back on her feet without spilling her stomach contents all over the floor, when she witnessed Alnar rushing in and pushing the battlesuit from behind - giving it an extra unexpected momentum aimed right at the power cables as Laeris and Amleth adjusted their position to the incoming foe. With one thrust the two pushed the high power line right into the chest of the battlesuit, shocking it thoroughly. Yet, it was still moving it's mechadendrite. Just as it was about to stab Amleth in the neck, a flying wrench came and shattered the liquid-filled syringe and shoved it to the side. But the moment the electricity finally started to damage the battlesuit, suddenly the lights died and the cable having lost it's power when an earthquake hit. Everyone and everything was shaking. One might not be able to see - except the Eldar - but the falling objects, screeching of the metal and motion in the floor gave it easily away. The palace luckily was extremely well constructed and the room they were in lacked windows - completely making the shockwaves null and void. The explosions were heard only faintly in the distance - the origin unknown to the assembled group under Amleth. And just as the main quake stopped, the backup generators kicked online and the entire room was dipped in a dark red. The doors for sure now locked, there was only one way out - the same way Denton had initially climbed up and retrieved a bunch of tools from. Asides the wrench he threw, he also recovered three long heavy duty screwdrivers, two hammers, a nail gun with a dozen nails, a pair of reverse pliers, a pair of scissors and a box cutter. In the fashion of a true Catachan he managed to strap them in somehow, somewhere on his body. "Let's get out before he powers up! Up we go!" Amleth yelled, standing next to the entrance of the maintenance tunnel, waving the group over. He shuddered from the sight of corpses covered in the dark red light of the emergency lights. "And no. I have no idea why there was an earthquake! Like you all I get is darn static on my vox-bead!" The Inquisitor added pre-emptively, just wanting everyone to get a move on. Rei who fell during the quake, got once again back up on her feet and started to trot towards the group. She was pale, but might manage to get up to the maintenance tunnel with survival being a good incentive. OOC: Rei and Karack can use their psychic powers. Karack has a -1 on all psychic rolls due to Perils of the Warp for the remainder of the mission. There is an unholy scent around which reduces everyone's rolls by -1, except Firestorm because he has a self-contained air system in the battlesuit. Battlesuit is stunned from overload. OOC: Spoiler Amleth - 10/10 HP Rei - 9/9 HP Karack - 8/8 HP Denton - 9/9 HP Alnar - 8/8 HP Laeris - 9/9 HP
Vissarya nodded. "May the Emperor aid you thank you Priest you have my gratitude. This was no time for her to argue with someone that is trying to save the Chapel. She knew the generator was there to save this holy building. She as quickly as she could headed down to the ground floor of the chapel.
Laeris wasted no time in taking the opportunity to escape the room and the combat they had found themselves in. Very quickly and gracefully slipping past the rest of the group towards the Inquisitor, he slid into the vent and began to climb. He thought about taking the opportunity to finally free himself from service to the mon’keigh once the exit was reached, but he knew that even he could not find a way off this planet without a weapon of some sort. He sighed loudly, knowing that he would have to stay as a slave to the primitives for a longer period of time.
Eager to leave the room of horror, Alnar hurried over to the vent. "I want our weaponry back, that knife was a gift." He grumbled and climbed up as soon as he could. He looked back at Smiley, noticing Rei stumbling too. If needed he would help them climb up, this wasn't a place anyone should be left behind. Besides his life depended on the good graces of his vermin masters.
< @Wata @Uriel1339 > "I'm not leaving without my weapons either, Xenos." was all Longfang said to Alnar as he began to climb, standing at the bottom of the post and waiting for everyone else to climb before he did. He was as loaded for bear as he could be in this moment, and kept himself ready while he stared at the battlesuit. He wasn't going to die here, but neither was he going to abandon his inquisitor.. and neither, he supposed, the Xenos.
Red braced himself as he felt the quakes the crusader refusing to fall steadied himself with his shield gripping it on tight enough that it would cut slightly into his gauntlet. Standing tall he kept his balance as glass he would raise his shield up to cover himself and others from the falling glass and debris. As the debris and after shock ended red would look up to see Vissarya coming down from the tower, Good to see her alive, Red could only hope for the same status of the priest but with the fact the windows blown out it was possible the void shield was overloaded along with structural damage to the cathedral though to what extent Red currently couldn't asses without a hard look around. As Everyone seem to gather around him and Macharius Red thought for a moment, The inquisitors end was silent either disrupted by the explosion or by just where he was maybe being jammed by the enemy, The death watch squad was possibly successful maybe alive, If so maybe it was possible to call them and the forces in orbit, It might be a boon for the survivors and possibly help them with the campaign and possibly retrieving the inquisitor if all things had gone bad on his end, or entirely screw up his plans and cause him to think red and the others were idiots. A status update request for one from the death watch team might not hurt ,hell it could help them out by getting a ship recon of the area and possibly seeing if any damned xenos were about planning a assault. and how far there mission fairs. Closing himself off from the world he would attempt it again. "This is Crusader Red, Tarsinis to Inquisitorial vessel, Can you give us a status update on the death watch team and there status We saw down here there results down here on the ground and are brushing ourselves off." Red said through the vox requesting a simple status update on the death watch team @Uriel1339 After asking his question Red would turn off his silencer ready to speak. "The Xenos have been stricken from the sky, desperately now throwing themselves at us with there craft we must be ever vigilante of them trying trying to attack, or if there is any survivors of there crash of a counter attack. We must be ever vigilant and on guard for the vile xenos." Red said trying to bolster morale for the momment. Already in his mind he began planning to be on watch for xenos or possible xeno attack he needed to be ready encase they attacked and to possibly hold out for as long as they could maybe support arrive from death watch if they survive or they would be off taking out the Ethereal and trying to find the inqusitor, either way he had to made sure he needed to be ready in case they couldn't.
