Longfang growled a little at the sight of the commander, cursing Amleth for getting them into this. Plan or not, this had been reckless. And the survivalist had been near idiotic for allowing him to get into this mess. He had no weapons, and absolutely no chance of beating this alien. He was no hero, he hadn't lived this long being a hero. So, shrinking back a little and flexing his sizable fists, he looked around and attempted to find some way out. For him and he supposed anyone else that would want to follow.
At first Tyr cursed as he was pinned to his cover under a heavy heavy fuselage of Tau weapons fire, the battle-suit apparently seeing him as enough of a threat to almost fire everything to simply destroy both his cover and him, though with the iron discipline of a grey hunter, Tyr still got sight and fired back at the suit, his bolts wreaking more damage on the suit than the pilot surely would have expected, as he kept willing the battlesuit forwards, apparently not content enough with simply gunning him down. Then a lucky bolt hit one of the missile racks, right on a unfired but still armed warhead, creating a cascade event destroying almost half the suit, and the pilot within was either particularly brave, or had lost control, as he kept on his trampling advance. Tyr saw this a worthy challenge, surely it couldn't be too different from wrestling a frost mastodon, as he mag-locked his bolter to his thigh and counter charged the battlesuit. OOC: all out wrastling
@Uriel1339 @SpeceralWolfe @WanderingJester Goreparan moved backwards swiftly to a better defensive cover or postilion. As he did this he shot at the tau battle-suit attacking the imperial fist to provide cover. He occasionally swept his glace backwards to make sure that no one or nothing attempted to get to obiken, if any one did or if there was even the slightest simmer or distortion indicating a stealth unit near the tech-marine then the Minotaur would drop what he was doing in favor of covering the tech marine. OCC Balanced; 1 attack helping ruine, 1 defense covering obiken.
Vissarya walked away from the preacher. "I'll let the inquisition deal with you. Stay here preacher.." Then left the chapel and headed to the bell tower. She wasn't going to refuse an order from a retinue member of an inquisitor she knows that's suicide.
With his nose filled with the scent of aging death, his eyes the imagery of butchery, his mind was filled with surprise, disgust, and....confirmation. He was thinking this was all too good to be true, the same sort of feeling that had landed him in servitude to the rouge trader, and somewhere in the back of his mind he was expecting some sort of 'string' attached to it. An expression he learned from that man about deals. "Everyone just facking lies don't they?" he hissed sharply to himself as his hand shot into his bag, pulling out what looked more like a solid block of bone than a tooth that belonged to the rust eating Ceanetaur with its Hieroglyph symbol etched into it. With his free hand held out at the approaching thing of metal, the Teethspeaker tries to draw power from the ether to curse the machine thing. OOC: Trying to use Objuration Mechanicum, effect: The Psyker jams the weapons and engines of his enemies.
Once the nature of their current room and host became obvious, Alnar sighed, he was grossed out and thoroughly put off by the Greater Good at this point. "Guess we weren't blue enough, or it was the robe comment." He replied to Amleth, standing beside him. Then Smiley started moving toward the suit. "What are you doing?! That thing don't play nice!" Alnar was about to pull him back but noticed the witch stuff the alien was holding. The corsair stopped and looked for improvised weaponry. Whatever it may have been, a steel pipe, sharp piece of metal, anything to hopefully stab through the suits hopefully weak points or jam the joints with.
~~ Kill-Team Deathwatch ~~ Reunited Spoiler @Grall_Stonefist - Tyr Nosebreaker, Space Wolf Grey Hunter (Tactical) @Kalle - Sirius, Blood Raven Tactical @SpeceralWolfe - Ruine Master, Imperial Fist Assault @WanderingJester - Obiken, Exorcist Techmarine @Tamu - Goreparan, Minotaur Apothecary Ruine apparently unaffected by being slammed around just got his maul back into both hands and would put proper justice that one would deserve for interrupting humanity's work against the vile enemy from beyond - after his original target was eliminated. After all the Imperial Fists are well known for their stubbornness, and apparently that expanded to all of their lifestyle choices. Once a warrior of the Phalanx has chosen who to kill when, it shall happen that way, and only that way. Mustering all his might, the chain maul came down on the pilot cabin of the wounded Battlesuit, grinding through the leftovers of the pilot cabin armor. He could see the heavily wounded Tau inside as the metal finally gave up under his powerful swings. But just as Ruine was about to smite the foe, he saw in the reflection of the metal he just pried open a strike coming from behind. The Astartes leaped to the side in the last moment and as he landed on his back, he witnessed how he tricked the alien that interrupted him into stabbing, or smashing rather, the other with his Fusion Blaster. A dead alien was a dead alien, it mattered not at whose killing blow. The Battlesuit pulled it's weapon out and aimed at Ruine, however, his brethren got his back. Goreparan and Varuuk both opened their fire on the remaining Battlesuit facing the Imperial Fist. Individually they would only do insignificant damage, but together their bolt shells were punching through the alien material, hitting similar spots with 1-2 combo shots - but not destroying anything of importance. In the end, it was yet not enough to fell the machine. The XV-8 turned it's back to Varuuk and Goreparan to shoot the Imperial Fist. But he saw it long coming and rolled under the fusion blaster, leaving a melted floor behind. The last of the three battlesuits was met head-on by Tyr who enjoyed the challenge of a Wannabe-Mastodon. With a roar as the Space Marines arms wrapped around the waist of the Battlesuit. It obviously tried to keep its footing as the feet clawed into the metal. But the Space Wolf didn't care, mag-locking himself on the floor while wrapping his arms tighter around, trying to get momentum to lift it up or toss it to the side. However, unlike the XV-88 that Goreparan defeated like this earlier, the XV-8 were equipped with jet packs. The pilot put it on full thrust and took off. However, Tyr held on with all of his might, boots mag-locked to the floor. Groaning as the machine pulled at him and his body and even the power armor was stretched to maximum capacity he finally found the strength he needed. With one strong pull and a howl that filled the whole battlefield, he ripped the Battlesuit in half, as well as the pilot. The upper part was shot like a rocket into the deck above, while the lower half was now in the loving embrace of the Space Wolf. Intestines wobbling around from the abdomen as it got torn in half at the ribs. Surely this was a little different than wrestling with a Mastodon. Sirius on the other hand was met by a mob of angry Fire Warriors who finally realized he was the only one fighting them. 20 versus 1. And seeing their leaders die at the hands of the vile invaders, perhaps combined with the knowledge that their vessel was going to crash anyway, they had realized that there was nothing to lose anymore. They would die anyway, so they might as well die in blazing glory. Sirius realized this too late and was filled with Plasma rounds from their rifles, being torn apart on multiple spots before falling backwards as one of them butted his rifle against the Blood Ravens head and others kicked him. Whether he was unconscious or not, nobody could tell under the armor. But the Tau didn't bother to double tap either - too drunk in their thought victory over an Angel of Death. Their charge continued, filling the room with blue plasma fire. Ruine luckily was covered by the XV-8 Crisis Suit, and Tyr with the wreck of one. Goreparan and Varuuk were too far in the rear to be affected, but did sporadic fire from their cover, claiming a total of 3 fire warriors. Of course the other Astartes would know that Sirius was alive, but barely conscious as his rune kept flickering from yellow to amber, back and forth. Obiken in the meanwhile could do nothing but maintain the course, he quickly accessed a secondary terminal to get a scan on the current situation and realized he had given too much power to the thrusters. Collision was in less than 30 seconds, perhaps around 45 seconds to a minute if the Tau would attempt to correct the course at this point. The Space Marines would want to get off this vessel soon. OOC: Obiken cannot do anything but keep tabs on the terminal to make sure his commands don't get overwritten. If he chooses to attack, there might be risk that the commands get overwritten and he has to spend 1 turn to fix them again (no dice required for luck on success) Fire Team is extremely motivated and don't care about their lives anymore (Extreme Caution!) Reminder: Goreparan usually can heal 1d3 as full action. OOC: Spoiler Final HP values after combat & Larraman rolls Varuuk - 4/13HP Sirius - 3/10HP Tyr - 9/10HP Ruine - 7/11HP Obiken - 9/11HP Goreparan - 7/11HP XV-8 #3: 4/8 (Fusion Blaster & Wrist-Mount Missile Launcher) Fire-Teams: 17/30 (+3 on all rolls from All or Nothing + Morale Boost from 'killing' Sirius) ~~ Team Imperium of Mankind & Co. ~~ Team Heroes of the Imperium Spoiler @bossaroo - Macharius, Stormtrooper @Maleth - Arleen Herithorn, Felinid Hospitaller @Vulpas - Red Tarsinis, Crusader @Valonox - Vissarya, Sister Superior Vissarya wouldn't even be in position, due to the rain on the rooftop slowing her down, by the time she heard the bolt shell leave the chamber and detonate. She could easily judge from that however, that she won't be needed anymore up here - considering that the belltower was not connected to the preacher's office anyway but Red most likely rather mentioned in case the Tau makes an escape. The Tau gasped and widened his eyes as he looked down on his arm. Everything from below his elbow being just blown apart. Not even cut off like from a laser shot, no. Dozens of bits of meat were scattered across the floor. The shock and pain so intense that it was just so numb, him falling to his knees as the reality of the situation washed over him. The knife was somewhere stuck in the desk, having sent flying from the detonation. And the young Tau knew that after all the things he did, there was nothing for him but torture. And so it was not the physical pain, but the knowledge of what was to come that sent tears rolling down his cheeks, squeezing his eyes tightly as he stared at the floor, muttering stuttering words in Tau. The preacher watched and had a satisfied grin on his face from the doorway. Perhaps the Inquisition did know what they were doing after all. "Good work Crusader, making the alien suffer and sully himself." He put a hand on Red's shoulder, noticing how the Tau indeed, did wet his pants. The preacher now left happily and went back to the main chapel. Team Defector Spoiler @BadDo9 - Denton 'Longfang' Reach, Catachan @Colapse - Rei, Telekinetic Psyker @BuriasDempsey - Karack 'Smiley', Verathian Ghost-Tooth (Psyker) @Wata - Alnar, Eldar Corsair Reaver @Taec - Laeris, Dark Eldar Trueborn Denton and Alnar both looked around for anything to use as a way out or weapon, but both failed, seeing nothing of proper use. Almost as if it was planned to lure people without an option in here. Laeris on the other hand wouldn't even bother searching and just sprinted off, leaving the other idiots to their demise while he was properly finding a way out of here, moving to the edges and looking for ventilation or such, but also failing to find anything as he started to jump from surgery table to surgery table, making good use of his agility as a Dark Eldar and warrior. Smiley who finally channeled his powers wanted to use them, but without any effect. On the contrary, the room was filled with a horrible stench. Horrible enough to make everyone stomach twist with its foulness. It was like a combination of hive discharge, rotten eggs, half-decomposed bodies with a sprinkle of gasoline. Inspired by the attempt, Rei did her best to ignore the smell and channeled powers of her own. The warp wrapped around her as she roared, extending both her hands towards the Commander and motioning to crush it with her hands. And indeed Firestorm stood still, just around 10 feet away from the group. The metal was being heard to screech as she got a good hold on him, gritting her teeth. "F-f-find a way! Throne! Dammit!" She snarled, obviously struggling to maintain the holding position on the Tau - the stench not helping. Amleth casually put two fingers to pinch his nose shut and sighed a bit in relief. "Good work Rei! Now, let's find a way out." The Inquisitor noted cheerfully, pretending their immediate death is not upon them no more. He ran up to the center of the room, past the Battlesuit, to check the alien terminal for information that he just spotted in the middle of the room. He figured the others would take up Laeris' grand example of finding a way out. OOC: Rei and Karack can use their psychic powers. Firestorm is immobilized & stunned for as long as Rei can keep her psychic powers maintained and locked on him. Karack has a -1 on all psychic rolls due to Perils of the Warp for the remainder of the mission. There is an unholy scent around which reduces everyone's rolls by -1, except Firestorm because he has a self-contained air system in the battlesuit. OOC: Spoiler Amleth - 10/10 HP Rei - 9/9 HP Karack - 8/8 HP Alnar - 8/8 HP Laeris - 9/9 HP
Macharius would release the preacher and stow their hotshot laspistol. They would recollect their volley gun before heading over to the closet from which the tau had sprung using a strip of cloth or belt as a tourniquet for the Tau. An interrogation would do them no good if the Tau bleed out before being able to answer any questions. Once that had been done the Storm Trooper walked over to the table in which the knife was lodged , a firm wrenching later and the knife was free. Macharius would walk over to Arleen making sure the Felinid ( @Maleth ) was unharmed by the Tau before returning the knife to the Felind. Giving her a nod and a reassuring shoulder pat the Tempestus Scion would exit the room to the main chapel standing at the ready to prevent anyone who could cause trouble from entering the room.
Instead of seeing rust appear on the Tau's machine and grinding it to a halt, he only smelt things that were best not described that were making him gag a bit in spite of his best efforts to concentrate. But, the spirits seemed to not have completely abandoned them, as Rei was successful in her casting and held the mad butcher through sheer will alone. Not wanting to waste the opportunity that was presented, the Verathian darted towards the tau with a bone claw extended from out from his right arm. @Wata "Alnar! Help me rip this arm things off!" He asked his eldar friend before slamming his claw into the joint to start stabbing and sawing.
Vissarya still went out in the rain to the bell tower because who knows what could of heard that shot so she continued to the bell tower.
