@Uriel1339 @WanderingJester @SpeceralWolfe Even as the last tau started falling back goreparan already had his aim set and his bolter ready. Determined to not leave any survivors if he could help it the minotaur unleashed short aimed bursts at the foe. As the others talked of joining up with the others the minotaur only grunted as he kept up his fire until the foe was dead or out of his sight. With a snort gorepraran turned his helmets Vox link back on and commented back to the others. “Fair enough” he replied as he followed the two “Time to see if those three made any progress or not”
As the captain started hacking away at the controls, Tyr looked over his bolter one final time, making sure everything was as it should be as he made ready on the same side as the capatain, as soon as the door opened, they would need to get in quick and throw in some proper shock'n awe. Tyr would not throw in a grenade directly after the dood opened and they could charge in, instead first blast a few bursts of bolts, and if he spotted an imidiate knot of Tau defenders, then a frag grenade would blast them proper.
Vissarya looked at Arleen. "Well you are more than welcome to stay for however long you wish." When she saw that the women from the Inquisitor retinue to speak to her in private she brought he into the priests office and closed or whatever remained of it. "What is it that you wish to speak of me with?" @Maleth
With the Preacher busy getting ready, Arleen said to the Sister Superior (@Valonox ) "Look, I need you to make sure that these warriors of the Imperium don't get too carried away once we meet the rest of the Retinue. That is because the reason why some of the Retinue isn't here is because, emphatically speaking, they don't conform to anyone's ideals of the holy human form, and I'd like avoid friendly fire incidents." With that said, she did pay attention to the sermon, which the Felinid would admit to be something of a good one, all things considered. Still, she also supposed she was too preoccupied with the whole mission that she needed to manage, and perhaps hoping the Deathwatch turned up soon enough that not everyone who was present under the roof of the chapel was busy needing a decent burial due to lately arriving assistance.
Karack gave a quiet breath of relief that they did not take away his pouch, more because of the sentimental reasons than the practical reason that it was his main medium. While they were escorted, the Verathian took in what was happening around them as he tried to understand what he was seeing. Humans willing to work with the Tau, even adapting the Tau uniforms and the exchanging of knowledge of each others weapons. It was...well severely odd to see such cooperation from humans after what he had dealt with for his own interactions with humanity. Seated with the others in seats looking at a large flat surface, he didn't understand what 'popcorn' was but guessed it was something eaten when watching something from the context. He grabbed one of the cups of water, giving it a curiosity sniff to see if there was anything in it before taking a seat in the front row between Alnar and Amelth. @Uriel1339 "Perhaps they are optimistic about us..." he offered as a suggestion, Smiley being offset by the hospitality they were given. @Wata "I think it would be green and blue, given their uniform. But at least it would look nice on you for once." he joked with a raspy chuckle.
~~ Kill-Team Deathwatch ~~ Vanguard Spoiler @Grall_Stonefist - Tyr Nosebreaker, Space Wolf Grey Hunter (Tactical) @Kalle - Sirius, Blood Raven Tactical Varuuk hit the controls one more time and the door opened. The moment it did, pulse fire rained in their direction. But the Iron Hand took quick cover at the edge of the door, Power Axe in one hand and Bolt Pistol in the other. Sirius threw his frag grenade in and then rushed in, Varuuk moving at the same time while Tyr fired his bolter. The foes were registered in a heartbeats moment due to the super senses of an Astartes. Present was one XV-8 Crisis Suit alongside three fully sized fireteams, it seemed the bridge crew had been evacuated beforehand. Sirius grenade detonated in the first Fireteam, detonating mid-air before the squad, filling them with shrapnels and effectively killing half the squad before the fight even truly began. He then followed up with his shotgun, moving in and getting to a terminal, taking cover while he occasionally rose to his feet to blast the aliens apart. His shot completely missed as he was quickly pinned by a salvo of another kill-team, but he huddled up tightly enough to be completely covered from the incoming fire - and of course it seemed to be sensitive instruments which the Tau didn't want to obliterate. So when members of the first team came around to flank Sirius, he greeted them with a shotgun to the face of the first one, killing yet another enemy. Varuuk was identified as high priority target, apparently the footage having identified him as a leader and the Tau knew that he had to be annihilated if they were to strike at the morale of the Deathwatch. And so it was no wonder that his attack was completely stopped by heavy barrage fire of the XV-8 Crisis Suit which was armed on one arm with a Burst Cannon, the other one a flamer, both relentlessly coming down onto the Iron Hand as both leaders ran towards each other. Any shot he attempted with the Bolt Pistol went completely off far and wide, while the Battlesuit pilot created a weak spot with his plasma weapon in the upper chest, and cooking the Astartes within his armor with the flamer. But as long as he was alive, could walk and swing weapons he would not back down. Tyr managed to pick a few good shots into one of the more intact fireteams thanks to the focus being on Sirius and Varuuk as they were simply in closer proximity. Striking with precision over ferocity, he took down three Tau, each one taking one or two bursts only. But as soon as they noticed where the bolter fire was coming from they barraged him, just slightly too slow to get into cover, the Space Wolf got a shot into his abdomen which just burned hot enough to be agonizing but not hindering him yet. Though the Adamantium-Ceramite armor would glow blue from the plasma residue, turning only slowly into a black scorch, it for sure has become a weak spot now. OOC: Varuuk and the XV-8 Crisis Suit are engaged in a duel, interrupting it may cause bad relations with the Deathwatch Captain and might entice the Tau to push harder. OOC: Spoiler Final HP values after combat & Larraman rolls Varuuk - 7/13HP Sirius - 8/10HP Tyr - 8/10HP XV-8 Crisis Suit: 7/7 HP Fireteam 1: 5/12 HP Fireteam 2: 9/12 HP Fireteam 3: 12/12 HP Rearguard Spoiler @WanderingJester - Obiken, Exorcist Techmarine @SpeceralWolfe - Ruine Master, Imperial Fist Assault @Tamu - Goreparan, Minotaur Apothecary Goreparan gave the battlesuit a last salvo before sprinting after Ruine and Obiken. He thought to have destroyed the battlesuit, but in reality it was merely disabled as it sparked and buzzed. But it was just heavily damaged to shut off completely. The trio pushed onward when they just arrived with Varuuk and Sirius blasting at Tau in the secondary command center. They obviously needed reinforcements, but there was a threat coming from the rear as they heard one pair of heavy steps from the same direction they just came in - accompanied by the familiar buzzing of drones. If all three would stay to fight they might be quicker with this fight, but Varuuk, Sirius and Tyr might get into serious trouble. They had to make a quick choice. OOC: You can individually elect to lay ambush which will give you 1 reroll on any attack, or you can make a regular decision without bonuses against the foes that the Vanguard is currently encountering. OOC: Spoiler Final HP values after combat & Larraman rolls Obiken - 8/11HP Ruine - 10/11HP Goreparan - 7/11HP XV15 Battlesuits - 2/16HP ~~ Team Imperium of Mankind & Co. ~~ Team Heroes of the Imperium Spoiler @bossaroo - Macharius, Stormtrooper @Maleth - Arleen Herithorn, Felinid Hospitaller @Vulpas - Red Tarsinis, Crusader @Valonox - Vissarya, Sister Superior As the sermon continued, Macharius couldn't ignore a potential tactical liability that could be their doom with everyone focused in their spiritual health and so he made a patrol , especially as they entered the phase of deep prayers. So he decided to take a walk to make sure the perimeter was not breached. That is when he found Red looking up at light and few drops of water. Without much ado, the Stormtrooper simply made his way up top, leaving Red below who was stuck anyway at least till the Stormtrooper was up on the roof. When the soldier got up, he felt an unnatural heat, but not from psychic influence. The familiar sensation of a void shields radiation tingled his senses. And in fact once he closed his eyes to listen for a moment, he heard the buzzing of a generator. It was strongly muffled but it was there. He followed the noise until he found himself before the statue of Saint Katherine. And in fact there was some sort of hidden door built into the base of the statue. With a strong pull after lodging his fingers into the crack he forced it open. And there it was. The familiar intense blue glowing of a plasma generator, right on top of it a void shield generator attached. So it was not a mere miracle that they survived, but the gifts of the Adeptus Mechanicus hidden in the holy statue of the Ecclesiarchy. Macharius saw the truth, but it was up to him now what to make of this knowledge. If he tried to look into the distance for Tau encampments, the rain would be too strong, creating low visibility and making surveillance from up here almost irrelevant. Even a trained sniper would have issues. In the meanwhile Red would notice nothing out of the ordinary, just being torn between staying down there or getting up on the roof as well, or returning back to the sermon. Vissarya and Arleen had all the time in the world to discuss, it seemed, the preachers room being rarely visited for those without business and even more so in an apparent peaceful night like tonight, besides the rain drumming against the window of the office. One could easily forget this was a warzone without the gunfire, explosions and barking of orders. But then there was a noise in one of the big closets, usually used for storage of the preachers robes, and the women could only look at it when it opened and an alien teenager (judging by the size) fell out, dressed in tattered clothes, the local sept symbol on the center. The vertical slit on the forehead gave away that it was a male. He gasped in fear, laying flat on his back, looking up to the felinid abhuman and the fully clad battle sister. Fear struck him intense enough to essentially freeze him. Team Defector Spoiler @BadDo9 - Denton 'Longfang' Reach, Catachan @Colapse - Rei, Telekinetic Psyker @BuriasDempsey - Karack 'Smiley', Verathian Ghost-Tooth (Psyker) @Wata - Alnar, Eldar Corsair Reaver @Taec - Laeris, Dark Eldar Trueborn Karack would not smell anything off about the water. Eventually everyone got seated, except for Denton who was still scanning the room. "Collars? Mhhh didn't see any of these cooperators." Amleth said with a tilt of his head and a finger on his chin. After a few minutes passed without anything going on he turned around on his seat to look at the Catachani who saw that there was no real 'escape route', there was a vent against the wall, that was about it. But it was too small for him to really squeeze in. Without the mud, blood and rain of Catachan anyhow. Then there was the door they came in which had an alien keypad, just like the one to the adjacent room. There was little he could do, especially without his weapons to even just pry the consoles open and cut the wires, also he had no materials in this room to make makeshift explosives or other distractions, like smoke bombs. "Hey! Catamazi guy!" Amleth yelled over to Denton. "You going to join us so our beloved hosts can finally play our movie, mh?" He playfully patted the empty seat next to him.
@Uriel1339 @WanderingJester @SpeceralWolfe As the saw the control room and the ongoing fight goreparan resisted the urge to sight. The minotaur noted each of the combatant’s locations and the likely paths the tau were to take to get to the pinned down marines. Part of him wanted to help the captain mostly because he was fighting what looked be a dangerous and decent foe but as he was late and the captain was already well engaged he decided to let the captain have his fun. His thoughts were interrupted however as heavy mechanical sounds echoed from behind them, for a moment he thought it might have been the tau survivor who had somehow survived but realized that the sound was far too loud for it to be just that one survivor. With quick calculations of the possible enemies and the situation at hand goreparan voxed to the two beside him. “Sounds like heavy machinery, obiken help me lay an ambush against whatever is coming! Your melta should work well against them. Ruine my apologies but I think it best if you help our allies up front so that they don’t just sit on their asses being pinned by enemy fire all day.” With that, the minotaur quickly laid ready for an ambush ready to assault the foe all out and do as much damage as he could. OCC: Ambush with all out attack on the bigest threat coming from the back.
Longfang scowled at the inquisitor and shook his head. "I'm fine standing." he growled, not wanting to sit and invite complacency and death that would come from such things on Catachan. He also growled a little at the mispronunciation of his home, and would stand there for a few more minutes before he would finally relent. "But I suppose there's no way to get on with this unless I do as they say? I'll play along." he sighed, going to the seat Amleth had patted and then sat one seat to the side so there was one between him and the inquisitor, arms still crossed.
Obiken made his way forward along with his brothers to meet up with the vanguard that rushed ahead. He had hoped that they would not damage the bridge too much during the fight, as he still needed to lock in the overdrive command for the engines aboard this vessel. Still, there wasn't much the techmarine could do about that now but to continue forward. Reaching the secondary bridge, he quickly assessed the threat there before being alerted to the same incoming targets to their rear as Brother Goreparan. Opening vox comms to the vanguard squad, Obiken quickly spoke, "Brothers, we are just outside the bridge. There are some uninvited visitors that we will need to destroy first. Alert us if you require assistance." Hearing Brother Goreparan's words, Obiken turned to the Minotaur and nodded. "Agreed brother. All of these xenos will need to be destroyed, and better to pacify the area than to have the additional pressure when we go about sabotaging the techno heresy of this vessel and the engines within it." Moving to cover the points of entry to the entrance of the bridge, he braced his multi melta up and aimed it at the direction where the enemy would come towards them. The techmarine would prioritize his fire against the heaviest target of the enemy, preferring to utilize his anti-armor capabilities to their fullest. @Grall_Stonefist @Kalle @Tamu OOC: Ambush, Balanced attack on any armor units approaching the rear. Defense on self.
Red as he looked up towards the tower could see that it was where the ancient statue of he saint stood, several rain drops fell onto his face as looked up, Macharius going past him as he did, Might as well take a look at the statue, maybe even get a prayer to the saint up there to help them through the battle that was likely going to come to them. Making his way up the stairs he had to wonder if it would come down to staying and defending the imperials to the last or betraying them and shedding bloods on there hands all for once chance at the Ethereal and if it would be worth it. He hoped for some reasons the infiltration team might get to the Ethereal first before hem and take them out so it would not have to come to fighting other loyal men and women.
