- Virgil "Oh my Emperor!" Virgil cried as the roots attacked. Davarus' quick thinking had saved him and thanks to a combined effort, saved Virgil from the roots. Risking a quick scan of the area, Virgil took in his teammates locations. 'Oh dear, we've been divided. Luckily, I'm still with Veronica. Cannot lose sight of her.' Virgil got up from the ground, after Davarus had dropped him. Brushing off, and taking a deep breath from his breather. Concentrating on his force staff, the snake eyes lighting up blue along side Virgil's own. From the tip of the staff a light made to enter the forest. It curved and twisted between the decaying forest trees and opening. "We must continue on. My beacon will find us a relatively safer rought through the forest. Mistress, what are your orders... I mean Master Davarus. Thank you again for rescuing me."
As we begin to go further he begins to wonder "so where exactly do we meet up with them if at all because I Think we are lost" you can hear his resperator get louder
Robertus opend fire with his las pistol. The red flares from the gun did little to the roots and now they were getting dangerously close to him. He emptyed the clip and trew the pistol after the tentacular plant. "scrap metal, I Signed up to this to get out the forge... Not to return to my days as a Gartner kid!" Robertus cursed in a mixture of binary and low gothic as he pulled a pair of saw bladed Mecadrites from his robe to counter attack the thing, he chopped though a pair of lesser wines that were reaching for his feet with his power tool. "Dylan and Catlyn! Fly ahead and scout for the way out" the Engiseer commaned as he stomped mindlessly around. on the plants, 2 servo skulls broke away from the swarm and up high. scouting for a better route..
SA582 made a mental note that the unknown creature was getting closer to the group on its side of the field of roots, and that clearly staying to fight something that made trees fall when it walked was suicidal, a point that Razauil seemed to have already understood. To that end, the Thallax yelled at the others "Now is not the time to fight whatever is coming our way, for chances are we'd all die for nothing that way!" Having to think quickly, it came to the understanding that trying to cross the root field was just as likely to get the group killed as trying to fight the creature. With that idea in mind, SA582 then ordered "Everyone into the trees, hopefully we'll avoid the roots on the ground then!" It promptly followed its own order, activating its jetpack and ascending into the treeline, disengaging the jetpack once it had found a solid branch that it could stand on. All it had to do now was wait and see if the team would follow its commands or if it would have retreat by itself and with those that also knew the value of self preservation in the face of a superior foe.
Group 1 (beyond Root-Field): Group 2 (before Root-Field; closer to unknown monster): @Angles - Thallax SA582 On Ebony Flame: + Su'iris The creature being half-way there revealed to be not as big as it was, as it's body was not visible yet, though on the other hand the trees seemed to cross one another so that the group would not be able to see what was coming... It would take less than thirty seconds for the creature to come into attacking range, the stench being more than enough proof for that, as also the ground started to rot the closer the Nurgle-Daemon came. Razauil and Robertus' Servo-Skulls could make out a thin walkway, just enough for one person at a time, which would lead right through the tightness of the forest with a few roots hanging low enough so one would need to lower the head, but in general it would be a secretive way and one that could avoid most dangers.... Or get one in even more trouble <Davarus> "SA582. Make sure Razauil and the others get through that. If you can, kill or at least distract the beast that's coming, do it. We head for what we came for." The Active-Inquisitor ordered and walked off with Veronica, Virgil and the others on this side further into the core of the forest. <Veronica> "Keep your mind enclosed. We don't want your presence attract Daemons." She said softly to Virgil as she grabbed him by the hand to lead him, and to make sure he doesn't get lost or would feel alone.
- Virgil, Group 1 Virgil was scared, but Veronica was right. He closed his mind to the world around him, as much as he could without being rendered completely sightless. But things had become considerably dimmer. However, his allies shown like lights, constant and recognizable. Virgil would use this to his advantage. Standing up, "I am alright mistress, please we cannot linger here. This place seeks to claim our minds, bodies, and finally our souls. We must hurry and get you out of this place." 'There's still so much to do. So much to do... This place is effecting me, getting sloppy. Must focus. 'The strength of the Emperor is Humanity, and the strength of Humanity is the Emperor. If one turns from the other we shall all become the Lost and the Damned.''
OOC You shall not pass? think about it, would be awesome The moment the Dark Eldar spotted the passage, he gestured for the others of his current team to go through first, almost pushing them with the shaft of his halberd. "Move wretches! I'll hold the rear while you get through. I SAID MOVE!"
OOC: If you get my references then don't spoiler it like that Bear and Korax were first undecided but then nodded and rushed through the newly discovered path.
OOC didn't know for sure Razaul cursed at their uncertainty which might be the death of him. Not even waiting for a response, he first took Robertus and then Valen, kicking them forward through the pathway (OOC note: he only kicked butt doesn't mean he succeeded = not taking control of your chars ofc). He couldn't really push Drax the same way, but then again he was busy snuffing out Neverborn that began floating around his armor. Small forms feeding off his emotions but unable to fully manifest. To him, they were not more than cockroaches. He did however turn to the sound of the beast, knowing that the spawn will not rest until he finds him, his soul-light burning with the strenght of his ancestors.
