(Lysander Cariaso) Her reply was not wholly unexpected, given what he had read up on her file prior to being assigned as the eyes and ears of this Imperial investigation. She was rash and proud of her history, one littered with her ability to climb from nothing to become an individual with the power of one granted the position of inquisitor. She was also incredibly direct, at least on the surface, a positive when compared to the scheming nature of most Inquisitors the Judge has meet throughout the course of his life. That fact alone caused Lysander to loosen up his judgmental posture, if only slightly. "The Imperium is founded on the sacrifices of many in order to save even more, but such sacrifices were taken into effect for the betterment of the Imperium. This personal vendetta has yet to be seen as meeting comparison to the sacrifices you refer too, considering the heresy that seems to surround your continued service within the Inquisition. Recklessness can only take one so far before luck ones out. Still, you seem confident in the holiness of your cause. Perhaps your crusade has merit after all, if given time to show its true colors."
"Then it almost seems that whenever your judgment comes, it could be already too late to change anything." Veronica said with a smile. "And what would this recklessness cost? A ship and it's crew. It is not like any hero here is on-board, nor that the Ebony Flame carried every any importance. Just another entry in another book. What would be lost if let's say I fail and the entire ship and it's crew dies?" Veronica stepped closer to the Detective. "What if it is even you who has to put me down in order to stop my so called recklessness? What would you make of my Acolyte Davarus? Secutor Leos? Astropath Virgil and everyone else?" Her eyes narrowed, challenging the man.
(Lysander Cariaso) "Then I shall do what justice demands and put you down. But the others shall be judged based on their own actions and merit, not yours. You, and you alone, are under suspicion here." His tone grew in vocal intensity as he spoke with a flare of frustration tainting his words, but he stood his ground and did not feed into the Inquisitor's speech. "To fully condemn one of heresy requires evidence, and so far I only have the word of your report and the suspicion of your fellow inquisitors. Furthermore, I am here as a sentinel of the law as to remind you of the extent of your authority. I am not here to play the executioner for what is assumed to be true." His cybernetic eye flared a sudden crimson light as it continually analyzed the movement of the Inquisitor while simultaneously re-evaluating the members of her crew. Specifically the ones she mentioned as to check for potential reasons for her bring them up over others. He was analytical to a fault, as he often confessed when asked by others of his paranoia with suspects and their every action.
"Then I shall resign and let Davarus handle everything." Veronica replied ice-cold, getting her inquisitorial seal out. "What would you do then?"

Lysander didn't move a muscle, with no physical indication of wonderment as to where she was going with this conversation. Rather, the aged Judge kept his calm and responded with a cool head. "Nothing would change. Davarus would be free to go as he pleases as your own investigation continues. The Deathwatch Station and your connection with this "Daemon" are all parts of why the Ordo Hereticus has placed me here. Dravarus, as far the report and his file are concerned, is not a suspect of heresy."
"But he is my Acolyte, so even though he officially would be in charge, I still could tell him what to do. And if you find never proof of that I controlled his actions and he made the crusade personally himself, then there is nothing you can do about me. Since I would be just following his orders. In fact, I can declare that this is his task to earn his right as full Inquisitor. Slaying a Daemon is equivalent to a species eradication or alliance, which qualifies as important enough task to reduce at least ten years of the required experience, which would be enough to elevate him to an Inquisitor afterwards." Veronica elaborated, grinning slyly, letting the Detective believe that she is going to promise him what she is going to do and there would be nothing he could do bring the truth to light.
"What the hell?" Looks around" they even have felines?" Richtor starts scratching the cats back "whose animal are you?"
"A crafted story with no facts to back it, made of words that fall on deaf ears. All evidence established so far does not indicate him as a suspect, but what little we do know indicates you as being a possible heretic. But that leads us back to the problem. Their is still little evidence to make a judgment, and therefor little cause to assume anything at this point in the investigation." As his words resounded fact, his body resounded resolve. Taking a firm step forward, Lysander made a move in an attempt to end her teasing attacks at his inquiry towards her loyalty regarding the investigation. "The truth always finds its way into the light of the Emperor, and I swear to you that I well discover the truth. With or without your approval."
