"Simple explosive, not much different than me own det-packs. Replaced theirs, whoever they be, with our own in case things go tits flyin'. " Boris shrugged. "As fer the tables I do me duty, try to be stealthy but I was never recon, if someone here has a problem with one O the Emperor's own doin' his duty then they can save us all a hunt and speak up about it of course. " Grinning as he looked about. "So ye find anything yet? "
Initially doing as commanded, Astra moved to take a seat before figuratively freezing in place, remembering her role and apparently reluctant to move further from the inquisitor - again, that is. So she turned around, hastily walked back to Alicia, and, assuming that her mistake had been obvious to everyone present, exclaimed, "I'm sorry, Ma'am. Shan't happen again."
"I do not adapt easily to the machinery of the alien flesh,Kroot...but it seems I got the basics."spoke Adept under his cowl as he finally patched up the Kroot. As he finished the task at hand,Adept was finally free to devote himself to the mission.Exiting meeting chambers,he made way up the Spire, navigating to what would be planetary governor`s office...but before that...he had to make one final stop. Pluging one of his dendrites with a electro-graft on it,to a socket in the wall,Adept Zoran accessed the Spire schemata, nothing evading his predatory hunger for knowledge. "It seems Transmechanics are located on this strata..."added casually Magos-Errant to none as he made his way to the central cogitator unit, though which all of the Spire`s vox-net passed, its caretakes, appeasing it on a daily basis.
Ferenien started to employ tactics in case of a fight, hurrying to the safer side of the van, all the while, firing off at one side of their coverage to convince them that area is his focus, in a break of his firing, he would throw his frag grenade aimed at an arc suggesting it would land behind his threat's main cover in the area he has been firing at, his weapon now pointed at the opposite area in a prediction that they would run away from the grenade and the focus of his previous fire, if his tactical predictions were correct, the threats he has encountered would run straight into more hotshot laser fire. In any case, it was time to call in the current situation over inter-vox to the Inquisition group he was assigned to. "Callsign 'Tempestor Decimus'. Encountered Local Militants at van rendezvous area. Hostile, one critically injured, four returning volley. Route to immediate standby in contingency."
Sedric just scratches his head from being ignored by hera? And starts looking at some of the people that are their and makes his way to his seat
K'tikathat carefully moves his arm around, up and down, front and back, checking the arc of mobility the stitches allow without tearing. Humans finally succeeded healing his relatively simple laswound, although K'tikathat can't shake the feeling he was close to lose whole limb thanks to their incompetence. So what now? Others seem to left for the feast or on their own duties, leaving K'tiakthat standing in the meeting room with spare data-pad resting on tables corner. He is wounded and lost hefty amount of blood, the pool under his feet slowly getting sticky. However is going to clean this won't be prepared for it. Eating will be K'tikathats priority, replenishing the lost energy and gaining new genetic material. He doubts there is many places that serve his kind on this Hive, and even less places that don't turn into mass panic and cries for Arbites or Ecclesiarchy as people spot the xeno. So K'tikathat needs to sneak his way downwards till he reaches areas where lesser creatures are more tolerated. Among muties, freaks, sick, gangers, rat people, scum and other human garbage he doesn't attract that much attention. And if he does, he is allowed to shoot back. ooc: The die is clearly xenophobic. >:| Though it would have been interesting to lose an arm during the first hour to friendly fire.
~~ Courthouse ~~ "Would you not like to tell them, about the fact that the Inquisitor is actually not damned as she is sanctioned by the God-Emperor and the High Lords of Terra due to the ancient pact they have sworn? That the Alien is nothing but a mere tool, like a Lasgun in a loyal soldier's hand? The Alien might be an abomination and in usual cause a foe to be met without mercy, but in this case.... It's a tool." Takeshi suggested calmly and reserved, not being completely stupid on the emphasis of 'forced' and 'hatred' of the message, for golden throne's sake, he was a ganger and knew code words when he heard them.
~~Offices --> PDF Headquarters~~ With the Aide making the Major made aware of the Skitarii looking for the Scouts directly and therefore it wasn't worth bothering to get them to pick up the metal man, it was no surprise that eventually Firebat would end up heading to the PDF Headquarters in the main Hive, for where else would he have a better chance of catching the scouts than in their very own base? As he approached the main gate to the compound that served as the main base of operations for Verdan Prime's PDF, the gates opened up and a Chimera sped out, with a scout squad running like a horde of Gaunts were on their tale dashing after the vehicle. The Tech-Guard could clearly see that the squad was composed of the squad leader, an surprisingly young man for his position, yet the eyes gave away his experience at fighting. There was also a sniper, a slightly older lass with a long-las and a pair of normal troopers in their 20's that clung together like brothers, one of them armed with a chainsword and autopistol combo and the other with a lasgun. They all wore Cadian-style uniforms coloured grey, yet with a green patch on their shoulders. After taking a brief moment to register that no, they weren't going to be picking up their mission specialist, the squad leader said to the Skitarii "So you're the metal man the brass warned us about. Just hop in the Chimera and our driver, Gek should get us all in one piece to the Underhive, that's pretty much Freedom Angel central, if you got any questions, better say them now." He then gave the side of the vehicle a thump on the side, and the driver opened up the rear hatch. Everyone else but the squad leader dashed into the vehicle as if they'd been drilling for days on how to get into a Chimera quickly for weeks. ~~Banquet Hall~~ "Nice work Boris, now that just leaves the questions of who would plant explosives...." Alicia replied, with praise for the plucky Guardsman and a ominous threat for Narthen, who hurriedly said "Well, I wouldn't be surprised if it was those Freedom Angel's insurgents who managed to get that device in. It's just that with those lot, rumours about the sanctity of the church, and general wasteland 'There's a warlord who wants to take Hives for those stuck out there' malarkey going on there's too many threats to give you a briefing on all of them!" After a brief pause, Alicia responded to the Blank "Don't worry Astra, I only need you around when things really get hairy" with a wink that she wasn't going to take that moment of laxity badly. Any further discussion on the matter of threats facing Verdan Prime would have to wait until the banquet was in full swing, as Lady Ionria's arrival ended up heralding the arrivel of the rest of the invited guests. Some were clad appropriately, in the best finery they had. Others were more in keeping with Ionria, keeping their wealth not so obvious to the untrained eye. Some of the Spyrer nobles even had the nerves to turn up in their Hunting Rigs, but given the circumstances and the general turmoil that the Hive had.... It could be argued that it was a shrewd move on their behalf. The guests start to take their seats at the tables while Alicia also had taken her seat at the table and shot everyone else in her retinue that hadn't yet sat down a look that basicly "Sit down, and let Narthen get his stuff out of the way." ~~Wasteland~~ Ogedei would find that Malaya's weapons did their work ably, but to no effect. As the bolts impacted the turret and the tanker, they failed to dislodged the scrap armour but the attack revealed what was stored in the tanker: Pus and the fluids of diseases. The two chimeras fired at the Space Marine and the multilasers came quite close towards actually shooting the Marine on his Bike, yet they both missed. The truck's turret however, did not as a shell impacted the front of Malaya, the Bike's armour saving the Khan from being forcibly dismounted. As for the Cars busy escorting the truck, as they poured a hail of heavy stubber rounds onto the Astartes. One of their number managed to land a hit on the Marine, with a AP round landing in the Marine's neck and ricocheting into his right shoulder. However, another one of the cars ended up having it's heavy stubbler blowing up, putting the car out of the fight as a non-suicidal combatant. Retinue Ogedei: 12 : On Space Marine bike (4 Hull Points) Convoy Chimera x2 (5 Hull Points) Truck (4 Hull Points) Cars x5 (3 Hull points) Car (1 Hull point, broken weapon) ~~Outer Structure- Van~~ The grenade did its job, as it landed solidly behind the enemies' cover and exploded after three of the Rebels managed to get out, with the Squad Leader dying from the Frag's shrapnel. and a Rebel getting a healthy dose of shrapnel which tore through the man's robes. The Scion's hotshot lasgun then finished off that rebel, with two kills and not a single wound for him to worry about. The insurgents tried to get revenge for their fallen conrades, but the van, the Scion's armour and sheer inaccuracy on their part menat they had done nothing more than waste ammunition. Retinue: Ferenien: 10 Freedom's Angels: Rebel x 3 : 2 ~~Central Cogitator Unit~~ As Zoran Zeth made his way to the Central Cogitator Unit, the signs of the place being attended to by his fellows in the Mechanicum became more apparent, with incense becoming stronger in the air and the chants to appease the machines spirits became louder. As the Magos Errant truly entered the Central Cogitator Unit, the Transmechanics that tended to the Central Cogitator physically seemed to not pay attention to him, but in the noosphere, it would be apparent they had acknowledged his presence, but were too busy in the process of attending to the Cogitator's Machine Spirit to do much more than that. ~~Meeting Room --> Underhive Entrance ~~ The Kroot would find that it didn't exactly take much effort to keep hidden while traveling to the Underhive, keeping to the back-streets being more than enough to avoid being shot or causing a big scene by being a Xeno that was running free without being chained up. However, when K'tikathat managed to avoid causing trouble with the Ecclesiarchy or Arbites.... As soon as he got close one of the main entrances to the Underhive, he came across a party of Redemptionists hunting for mutants and the like. It would be a wise idea to try hiding, or the Kroot could try and fight the party. ~~Courthouse~~ "I would rather stand by my convictions that bend them for the sake of an Inquisitor." Merius firmly replied, before being herded off into his cell, with the veteran Arbitrator commenting "He sure smells bad, did he have an accident on the way down here?" The Arbitrator was right about the smell being with Merius: As soon as the Cardinal was locked in his cell, the noxious smell that pervaded the man was gone. With the Cardinal locked away, the Arbitrator that had ended up speaking for the group said "Well, if I were you'd probably keep an eye on the Inquisitor, just to make sure that it goes down well." ~~~~ Hive Map Spire Map (Uncorrected+ CCU) ~~~~
'Firebat' raised an eyebrow at the young squad leader. At least they had proper composition for scouts. " Why are you in a Chimera? Your noticeable in one. A target. This is a scout mission. We walk. Bring your driver in case we have to aquire transport out. And do you even have a spotter for her?" Nodding at the guardswoman with the long-las. " Would have done better with a Tauros or a Salamander. What does the green patch indicate on your uniform?"
K'tikathat brandishes his bladed weapons and leaps out of the alley with great clank of trash cans flying around. That is if the Kroot would be completely out of his mind and filled with suicidal tendencies to be burned with all the fire the Redemption Squad carries. Instead, K'tikathat slowly slides deeper in the shadows. It was long shot to try the 'main entries' to Underhive. Humans love false sense of security and control. There is no 'main entries' to Underhives, only locked gates that Nobles above upkeep to be able sleep their nights slightly better, telling themselves that the scum would stay under the lids they have placed. In reality, human cities are build like piles of dung. There is no neat layers of clean straws on top of fecal matter. It's all mixed up. Nobles want to stay on top, covering their own shame and filth under the rug. And they have more to cover than they can keep up. As such necessaries of society are left behind as personally more important structures are lifted to heavens. Anyone living underside the top floors knows that there is maze of piping, support beams, air ducts and just empty spaces running up and down, here and there inside the Hive. Just because Nobles covered it with plaster and steel doesn't make it disappear. In the alleyways shadows K'tikathat taps walls, floor panels. Somewhere should be infrastructure running, and from some point it should be gradual enough to lower oneself to lower floors. It won't be safe route either, most of it left unattended and rusty, broken, faulty. Other places are overrun with animals, giant rats and pests. And like said, it was common knowledge for less-fortunate population. He could run into someone, and rarely one traveling these hidden passages wants to get spotted by anyone.
