Optimal Slugga Boy Loadout?

I use almost exact same build that I use for my Rank 5 Slugga Boy (choppa or clubba with damage mod are beautiful). He's absolutely right on the damage mod for the 'choppa' weapons. There's a HUGE aspect that I include though that he doesn't have listed...The IRON GOB! The Dakka Slugga and normal Slugga I interchange, because I love both. I bring no other mods or trinkets other than the melee mod though, as the Gob (400LP) + armor combo (250 LP) makes you very tanky, but they cost a lot.

With almost that exact same build, but without any of the trinkets (and I can't remember if I sacrifice the grenade or not, but pretty sure I do), you can wear both the Rank 3 Armor AND the Iron Gob. Together, that makes for something like 155 Toughness, 250 Health, and 125 shields. Makes you Dead 'Ard and a melee monster. You cannot wear both the Rank 3 Armor AND the Gob unless you bring a 200 LP melee choppa with the 50 LP + damage mod.

Another good option is my lifesteal build:
-'Heavy Armor (400 LP: whichever the higher-ranking Rank 5 armor is, I can't remember the name exactly)
    -'Chain Choppa (200 LP): With +dmg mod (50LP) and +Lifesteal Engine (100LP)
    -Improvised Shield
    -Doc pac (Alternatively, grenade)
-Choppy Boss Pole (you should always have this as a Slugga pretty much, once you can afford it)

Basically, you're a self-healing tank. The shield lets you get in close and once you ARE close, so long as you're hitting enemies you're healing yourself (provided you've been taking any damage).

The Chain Choppa hits almost as hard as the Choppa Axe/Club and for the extra 100 LP, you can now sustain yourself with damage. If you're out of Armor and Health, you have the shield to back yourself out of trouble until your armor regens, then you get straight back to Choppin' to get your life back.

Important Part of the Story: Don't overlook the standard choppas. Toss a +damage mod on them and their attacks will down your targets about as quickly as the heavier melee weapons. This enables you to equip the Rank 3 Armor AND a

Confirmed that Chain Choppa is amazing. Clubs were excellent pre-launch, though I haven't bothered testing them out since release (I assume they still perform well, similar to the choppa axe).

Chain Choppa with life steal and + damage mod is LEGIT. It performs extremely well in PvP, especially if you don't have a healer to keep you up. In PvE it is straight-up beastly and will probably both save your team (and yourself) often.

Uhm you can't equip t3 armor with iron gob unfortunately, you're automatically at 1050LP without any other equipment. Tried T2 armor and gob, decided I get more out of the combo I use, but hey it's all down to preference (max toughness or throw in a bit of gubbinz).

There moight be tuffa, but non snikkiah!

When I say T3, I mean Rank3, not the "third armor unlock in the list". I should probably change that to R3 so it's more clear. That's why I listed the LP values. Regardless, I've updated my post to hopefully eliminate confusion.

Use the 250 LP Armor with the Gob. It works. How's I know it works? Because I's got me Boyz kitted out that way!

  5. Slugga boy should always aim (wutz is dat aim fing enyway?) to be the tankiest boy, because he is the canon fodder and he needs to close the gap at all cost.
EDIT: Also dakka slugga. That fing is NASTY

The optimal loadout for a slugger involves strapping a rocket to his back ;)

Zzip is fun but once you get good with the slab you kill pretty much everything. I shoot swooping hawks down with it before they can get me.

Can someone rate my Stormboy and Slugga Boy loadouts?

    Stormboy

Chain-Choppa with Lifesteal and Damage Increase Mods
Slab Slugga with vertical recoil dampener
    +1 Fuel Wargear
    +20% Faster Fuel Regen
    'Ard Armor
    Minor and Major Blood Squigs
    Minor fuel regen trinket
    Minor Weird Rock

    Slugga Boy
    Chain-Choppa, same loadout
    Same Slugga
I think the +32 health increase, the Space Marine skull on chains thing
    +1 Stamina belt
    'Ard Armor
    Minor and Major Squigs
    Minor and Major Weird Rocks

At the moment I have both a Dead Shiny Choppa and Dakka Slugga, but I've avoided equipping them due to the LP increase and that I don't believe the Dakka Slugga is a Smart Pistol. I might also have the health increase on the Slugga Boy wrong, as well as maybe the trinkets.

Soz for the delayed reply boyz! Cheers for all the input. It was really helpful. Took on board the suggestions and modified the build to include the Klaw (take out two plus rhinos a match with it solo most games). It's so much more enjoyable now. Usually in the top half of scores, have been top score one time and second several others thanks to this. Getting better all the time. So much Krumpin! Thanks again.

P.S - Found a Shiny Urty Syringe in a 5k crate earlier. Solid gold. Much bling for my Bad Moon Dok!
