Actually the GM is waiting for your status report, so that the Lord can order you to wait for the rest of the guys to turn up, and inform you that he will send cultists as meat shields to send in against the bridge guys first

That is unless you want to try and solo the bridge and, though you'd kill a few, undoubtedly die under the heavy return fire
