This is warhammer 40k. there is only war. the most epic, crazy, awesome, inspiring, horrifying, and pretty much every other adjective you could think of, shit happens here. we need something to represent this. not just in gameplay, but in music. here is my proposal. Eternal Crusade peeps go to Two Steps From Hell, and some other groups, perhaps some of them less orchestral and more electronic, and ask them to make an album. The album/song titles would be things like Only War, And They Shall Know No Fear, Blood for the Blood God, etc. This could be used in game, in trailers, and just as propaganda for the game! WHAT SAY YOU? DISCUSS!
I am musical buff my self and i compose my own music from time to time. However Two steps from hell is nice we also got. View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCRuw9MgoRU Future world music. And Audiomachine. However it would far cheaper if they composed their own music though, in those ways they can pick and choose excellent music to be outfitted to the exact situations, in all genres so to speak.
some cool music listed so far. The music is indeed really epic IMO, but some of it sounds too fantasy themed. When I imagine war40k music, I think of that deep, scary, holy orchestral music. However, I definitely think some loud, rough, dark electronic/industrial tunes (being vague and inaccurate but I think I'm getting the idea across) would be really cool, if used sparingly. The Audiomachine - Apocalyptic Warnings linked by Araghast the Pillager sounds kind of like what I am trying to refer to EDIT: forgot to say that I'm going to go see if I can find tunes to show what I'm thinking
Please no trailer music, everything is overflowing with it. The guy that did Dawn of War music is a safe bet, but frankly, it was quite generic as well. I'd like to hear an inspiration from older games for once, Chaos Gate first of all. It sounded very gothic and grimdark, which suits 40k better than just "epic" music.
I think we should have a theme that goes like this I think any game that has that will be successful.
Electronic and orchestra like in Dawn of war I, better be Two steps from hell and/or jeremy soule. if so i'm very very very very very very very very very very very very very happy!!
To be honest I don't care that much about the music. I'll hear it for a few hours, then go back to all the hundreds of hardstyle-mixes on Youtube.
