4th Edition - Lightning Claws are simply power weapons that re-roll to wounds. 6th Edition - Lightning Claws are simply Power Swords that re-roll to wounds and get no bonus attack for being used with a pistol. 7th Edition - Same as 6th Edition. There is no doubt Lightning Claws are deadly weapons against infantry, but they are not even remotely similar to a Power Fist, Chainfist or Thunder Hammer. They are worthless against vehicles and not unwieldy, the only resemblance to a fist is visual.
The problem with the ork big kannon is the missile going too fast without warnings. It have an AoE fire and even and smoke effect similiar to a smoke granade, you cant evade cause it travel at the speed of light and its so powerfull that you dont even get downed state, only deleted from somewhere.
I'd say leave the Kannon as it except for lowering damage a bit so it is inta-down instead of insta-death. Still dangerous, but not annoying to the point where you want to strangle the enemy player with barbed wire after a while.
How i feel after your montage. Much moments u have choosen but where are the successes? U re using realy low amount of fuels in this vids making u an easy target. But nice montage
If you ask me, Ohk weapons should only exist if they require a high degree of skill to regularly pull off, or have a clear indicator. Grenades? They're fine. More often than not, it's your own fault if you die to them. Lascannons and equivalent? Either you need a ton of skill, or for your oponent to not be paying attention. Plasma cannon? Iffy. It's not particularly bad, and it does fire a bright, slow moving projectile. But on the otherhand, the ohk's are still fairly easy. Kannon? Nyoooope. Buff something else if you have to. It may not be paricularly op, but it's brutally unfun to play against.
Funny how this thread title indirectly pointed to the cannon, and the thread itself went straight to it lol And to think all of this happens because of perfect cover syndrome, you know, that "oh, someone must have taken him down already, so i dont need t bother about it" But on a serious note ive comented on a similar thread before so ill do a TLDR here The ork cannon cant be damage nerfed, why you ask? its a cannon, no srly that looks like its looted from a leman russ because how big it is, if it does less than insta kill it makes no sense at all, so the OHK gotta stay, but a way i think it can become balanced is - Increase reload time: yes you are an ork, the description of the dakka deffgun says it weights about the same of a small tank, meaning the cannon weights even more so you should have no problemo reloading that really fast, but i think a longer reload to avoid the constant bombardment of cannon shots would help a lot and not directly hurt the weapon, a reload of about 8-10 seconds i think is good, (even tho the model is belt fed, for balancing issues fuck logic) - No more snap shot: i got the saltiest ppl ive ever seen on this game by doing this, got called stuff like "no skill motherfucker" quite a bit and tbh, i gotta agree on a side of that, the side that if you snap shot someone (charge the shot behind cover) they really have no time to react whatsoever, there is a window of like 0.01 seconds if you have god reflexes (wich one a guy actually did that, my jaw dropped bellow the floor) but even so again, for balacing issues i think you should only be able to charge your shot while standing still - Tracer..?: no, ok just no, makes no sense to put a tracer in a cannon, maps are daylight you wouldnt be able to see it, so what if you make like an actual cannon, like REALLY loud, with a huge puff of smoke and fire (cuz itz orky) after you fire too, because the cannon is already fairly easy to spot if you pay atention around, you know, that giant turret-like construction with a ork under it? yeah thats a free kill go get it lol Thats about it really, the cannon already got a fairly good bullet drop(easy to score shot from above, but from even ground can be tricky, and if you got exploded from the bottom behind cover and it wasnt a mortar, focus that guy cuz hes good) Funny that this TLDR got almost the same size of my other comment rip
I think the best thing would be to reduce the ammo capacity of it to 10. Makes sense logically and users would have to think a lot more about using it instead of being able to spam spam spam it.
Please, avoid saying that you play all factions if you know very little about them. As above for an example, the radius is exactly the same as with the nerfed PC (which is still much more versatile). Perhaps orks take zzapguns because the Kannon is NOT good at nuking vehicles. It does the same damage as the plasma cannon to it. What you have to do is empty your entire arsenal including a refill, and then you might destroy a vehicle on your own if its back armor. It does negliable damage, just like a heavy bolter. ------------ On the actual topic, I don't mind OHK weapons. I mean, seriously, the TTK should rather be the thing, not the fact that it takes one shot. For instance, you die instantly to a hawk dropping grenades on you, no reaction there. Or autocannons, boltguns, plasma guns, being lightly touched by a vehicle barely moving and so on. You die instantly to a lot of things in this game. Most of the comments here seems to be about what one-shot weapons to do veterans, but veterans were already buffed once and considerably so. Just chill. Veterans are good enough as it is. They're not terminators. You'll have to wait a bit more for that, and as such, why nerf weapons that use up one bullet, when other weapons kill in the same time with 2 bullets? It would be more reasonable to ask for a veteran buff, but that is not necessary either.
I remember one time on Agnathio I got to the wall with my cannon and I spotted a vet on A's roof that kept moving around. I fired a good 4 shots his way that kept missing him one way or the other (I couldn't aim at the ground so It had to be a direct hit). I actually got killed by a random tact on the wall before I killed him. Then got all the way back to the wall, shot him about two more times until I finally got him. Of course he complained about the Kannon when the match was over. And here I'm like, did you think all the damn explosions around you were just part of the scenery?
