Outside of the things mentioned in my original post, here are some other things that I noticed were holding my team back: Either not knowing about time per capture point or willfully ignoring the importance of denying JUST ONE point all match so they don't get full time. I would repeatedly tell people that they cannot win if they can't take this point, turtle it they will come TO US and we'll have action. Nope...people feel the need to wander off like lost children to insignificant points. Terrible usage of tanks and/or complete lack of using the tanks. This should have been a priority to use since a lot of players didn't seem to have access to proper AV. Of course...trying to keep vehicles alive against FD's in private WS resupply stations is a lesson in futility outside of guild play. Back shooting. My god the back shooting. Not as bad as I remember waaaaay back but still getting lit up more than I should be. Friendly clanging was also pretty bad. I had a guy, I kid you not, literally fast attack me EIGHT TIMES in a row while I was trying to hit a DA with a sliver of health. We both ended up dying. I'll dive back in tonight though, I WILL PERSERVERE!
Can't read through the whole thread due to time contraints, but one easy option would be to give the current Tactical Preset and its Xenos equivalents a krak grenade instead of the standard frag grenade. This would give all players the ability to damage a vehicle and may increase squad cohesion as it would take several players to bring down a transport. Also would cut down on the heavy weapon spam that new players would likely kick out with a default AV load. Just my 2 cents.
I support giving all factions an AV preset... But it has to be worse than a custom loadout, maybe remove Meltabomb and just give them a Meltagun and Krak grenade.
Posted a suggestion for this almost a month ago. Sadly it received 0 points after being downvoted by orks https://bhvrmtl.zendesk.com/hc/en-u...46-Default-LSM-loadouts-missing-AV-capability
A LSM just has get angry because I was pointing the enemy transports positions. "F*ck you, destroy them yourself!"
It's probably their best class. No other class is played as often among the Eldar as the Dire Avenger. It's only really outperformed by the stormbolter tacticals.
Well, maybe it;s just having other good options, with distinct character and playstyle. It just seems to me that Eldar are more likely to have a good mix of classes
With presets going away its kinda a moot point. But I would say if other factions where to get an av preset it shouldn't be able to cap like fire dragons. They may be awesome at cracking your tanks but worthless otherwise. Amount of times ive been on an enemy point with a FD and no DA is frustrating.
Even when presets go away, I don't magically see LSM problems being solved. LSM will on average have the most "new" players on their team in almost any match(probably only large guild premade matches would break this). New players will still not have access to good gear(at least Chainsword is getting buffed heh) or AV on demand until putting time in(which is fine design wise, but shows gameplay wise). I don't really see this ever stopping as this game is, like almost all 40k games, clearly marketed at LSM fans. Actually I DO see this stopping one way, the day that we stop attracting new players because everyone who could possibly be interested already tried it and was completely disgusted by the bad stompfests and left heh. Which is something else that's bad, totally uncontrollable and not really anyone's fault(because they just want to play the game) but when it's obvious the LSM are getting blown out, the absolute THIRST I see from the enemy team is crazy. I'll watch like 10 Eldar with like 4 FD's eagerly chase that Rhino that finally came back off cooldown and relentlessly hose it down and any sad LSM that happen to tumble out. With less than 2 minutes on the clock and no points captured no less, things like that just seem..cruel lol. Again it's no ones fault or anything per say but...I almost feel like it borderlines on bad manners and doesn't encourage a growing playerbase.
