Once The Game Is Out Will Our Accounts Work On Two Platforms Or More? Eg Pc And Xbox 1

sorry if i have missed any info on this i did look through the forums quickly beforehand.
My question is if i was to sub to the game on xbox 1/ Ps4 (if it does come out on next gen platforms) and i decided that i liked it so much id like to switch between playing it on my pc or my console.

I ask this because i usually play any form of MMO on pc but i am really looking forward to playing it on next gen consoles if it happens.

Ofc i am not thinking of having one account open on two platforms and playing them at the same time, i fully expect this as otherwise it would be stupid.

Some people might think its unfair that you could use your accounts on both pc/consoles as it might make for a better time as ones easier than the other blah blah, but it wont be like you'd be logging back and forth repeatedly in a short amount of time so perhaps some sort of 1h lock between platform swaps would keep these people happy.

and to the players what are your thoughts on this?

I don't see why this would be an issue, I mean if everyone is playing on the same servers then it makes no difference what you log in with.
  3. I see how it would be an issue. Consoles have all patches approved before they are put up for the public to download, this would cause pc to be a head. If a patch addes new content to the game pc would have to wait for consoles to approve or make it so you can't use the same account on pc ,xbox, PS4.

or just dont apply patches untill they are ready for all versions.

are you saying that people will be playing on different versions of the game, why would you want to divide the community.
  5. If its cross-platform, your account should be too. The devs have said that if they can't get this to happen with Sony and Microsoft, then they won't release the game on the platform/s that don't allow cross-platform (I'm looking at you, Xbox -.- ).

Yeah, Microsoft does seem very unwilling to conform. While i am a PSN and PC gamer, i do like Microsofts stance on monopolization... They almost perfectly emulate their country as a whole.

Anyway, wouldn't it be great to be unbounded by platforms and play with every community? I wouldn't mind paying for a sub of each platform... as long as the characters statistics and gear carried over.

PC gamers and console gamers will never be part of the same community.

Console games are usually a lesser version of what the PC game is.
Normally console games have larger figures/weapons so that there is less stuff to render on your screen, FPS limit, Aim assist and worse graphics.
PC games, if not done by complete idiots that don't care about the PC or just did a cheap port from the console, have higher FPS, better graphics... etc.

I honestly hope they don't mix pc gamers with console gamers.

That being said, I don't think you can use the same character in both. Even if you could use the same account to log in, (I am hoping) you will have two different characters... one for each platform.
  8. Good point and I don't see why not.

The devs said there will be only console versions if Cross-Play is possible.

And I think that if cross-play is available that the accounts will work for all platforms the same way.

It will even work for DC Universe Online from PS3 -> PS4. All your characters, etc. will be 1:1 transferred.

So if EC comes on multi-platform I hope to see a similar system that we can enjoy our characters, classes, etc. on all platforms with 1 account, would also encourage multi-platform guilds.... ^^

EDIT: I REALLY would like to see cross-platforming. I do not care about the Mouse & Keyboard vs. Gamepad stuff or aim-help for consoles etc. And since it's a third person shooter (like Space Marine) NOT a first person shooter (like Battlefield / Call of Duty) it won't be THAT dramatic and in emergency case I am sure the developers can make easily support for keyboard & mouse on console, so nobody has to feel the game should be "unbalanced"

Well... PC gamers may find it difficult to attain the same performance via a Console Controller... But with sensitivity settings at max you can preform just as well. As for the mass of spells and hotkeys for all the non-essential actions... consoles have had the capability of using a Keyboard and / or mouse for a very long time, it just hasn't been utilized ( i did read Elder Scrolls Online may use them on the console version of their game ).

I didn't realize that there were limits on whether the title would be on next-gen consoles or not. This would almost surely be a " No ". Microsoft have been unwilling for anything aside from complete dominance for a long time. I'm not buying a new computer for this title.
