As the Inquisitor spoke, the figure responded back in an alarmingly feminine voice before removing her mask. Ashen hair fell into place across an eyeless and heavily scarred figure. The woman was obviously blind yet she had no problems seeing and at first glance there were no augmentations visible that would assist her, in fact now looking directly at the pale white skin, one could barely make out the sanctioned seals worked into the collar seal of the armour. "Forgive the breaking of policy but my Lord has already deployed to the surface and is currently engaged in other matters. We arrived three weeks ago with our own orders and are pursuing a different yet similar goal. I am here to act as liaison between the Major and your own forces until he is finished with his current duties. Skipping formalities, you may refer to me as Saber, Second Lieutenant of the 103rd Rahlian Grenadiers and Major-Commissar Rahls second in command. You will find that our forces have already secured a beachhead on the outskirts of the hive proper. There is additional information regarding our deployment listed in the dataslate as well as a personal message from the Major for your eyes only." The woman spoke coldly even as her breath turned into frost with each over-pronounced syllable. With the semi-introduction done, she donned the mask back on and it clicked into place once more cycling her own personal oxygen mixture. During the entire conversation her stance did not change once nor did her "vision" appear to move from anyone other than the Inquisitor. While it was true that it was extremely rare for more than one Inquisitor to be deployed to another planet, it was almost unheard of outside of direct summons from the Inquisitorial High Council that another team would be dispatched with separate orders. OOC: PM regarding private communique and the Lieutenants information.
Adam raised his eyebrow even higher. " So I am in the middle of two different objectives of my peers. I will assist for I did come about the tithe change but Lord don't confuse that for summoning me. I too have my own objectives they are just not exlusive of yours."
"I know you all have your own orders but it is not the only reason" as he spoke valoren directed his gaze on the psyched "your lord had been ordered to meet me on board not to go ahead" as he spoke his voice was harsh "I do not take lightly to my orders being ignored" as he spoke he sighed "tempelars I request you don't kill her in my presense" as he spoke he did not seam impressed "you are all dismissed get to the aquitaine lander and then be ready to deploy to the hive" With that he stood up walked to the door and looked back for one more sentence "I ordered you as a single unit the major will have to have you enter the hive with the group on his behalf while he meets me at the governors palace"
"You might be an Inquisitor but even one with such a position has their boundaries. I answer to the Major-Commissar and he answers to the High Lords of Terra. He did not have to send me here to inform you of the development nor did I need to come aboard this vessel to deliver it. You should keep that in mind before stepping foot on this planet." Without waiting for a rebuttal, Saber turned and left the meeting room melting into the shadows as she activated her powers completely removing herself from physical confrontation. The only sign that she had been there and her passage being the rapid development of ice crystals along the hallways and frosted coatings now lying over the lumen orbs dotting the passageway. The Lieutenant understood that there was a reasonable margin of civility even by the Inquisitions standards but she did not have the time nor patience to deal with another high and mighty Inquisitor running around like they owned the place. Backtracking to the lander with all due haste, she mentally activated the controls before even stepping on board and as her form fully entered the transport the doors began to seal shut behind her even as engine turbines flared as they quickly cycled to full power. Docking clamps demagnetized with the heavy thuds of pressure release and the transport rose mere inches off the deck before boosting at full power out of the hangar bay towards the planet below. Spearing through the hazy and smog rich atmosphere of the hive world, the lander was but one of millions of aerial traffic filtering through the pollution thick skies and with practiced ease she jostled the craft through the thickening traffic making way for an overgrown landing strip on a non-too exposed tarmac nestled between two massive hive towers on the outskirts of the massive super-city. Touching down on waves of dust and loose ferrocrete which was blown up by the engines backwash, Saber cycled down the engines and flipped all the switches to offline even as a trio of engineers rushed out from a nearby blast shield cover to hook up refueling lines and begin servicing. Activating the ramps toggle switch, Saber walked down the ramp and ignored the salutes from the auxiliary personnel who were dressed in similar fatigues to the armour she wore. Up ahead in a heavily reinforced ferrocrete bunker which was nestled between the compounds communications tower and the motor pool, the Lieutenant returned the salute of another passing officer exchanging a knowing glance before heading into the compound. Two soldiers in full kit stood guard on either side of the door brandishing hellguns, their armour dabbed with streaks of non-reflective grey paint to further blend in with the surroundings. Despite the shared insignia, the guards did not hesitate to stop her as she approached going through every procedure by the books. There was no mistaking the strict tension of the air as security was tight and even officers of the Regiment were forced to go through the same process as anyone else. Handing a small leather clad journal to the guard who spoke through a tight-beam transmission ordering her to present identification, the soldier accepted it and thumbed through each page before asking her to remove the mask. Depressing the pressure triggers on either side around the collar and releasing a small hiss of escaping gases, she lowered it so only her eyes were visible and the soldier quickly saluted and handed back the journal before speaking. "Ferrum enim in throno mam, the Major is expecting you." Taking back the proffered journal, it was quickly tucked into a pocket on her thigh before Saber proceeded into the brightly lit and sandbagged corridors but not before looking up to newly established hydra anti-aircraft battery on the compounds roof. It had appeared that whatever had happened between her time delivering the Majors missive and returning had required some serious re-allocation of firepower. Marching down the corridors and repeating the security process three times at separate checkpoints, she finally arrived at the basement sub-level command center. Clearing through security, the two soldiers opened the twin reinforced blast doors allowing entry into the dimly lit interior within. Data banks consoles, cogitators, and holo-tables projected information and counters from millions of incoming reports ranging from local Arbite patrol logs and PDF reports to Munitorium transmissions. Uniformed aides and couriers bustled across the floor dodging each other, thick power cables, and low hanging incense burners in equal measure giving the image of slightly controlled chaos yet the truth was that each movement was well practiced and drilled for the event of such a need and beyond. Each man and woman within represented the best that the Regiment had to offer and it showed as voices spoke hushed and collected delivering fresh reports with curt and to the point messages. Nothing was wasted either time nor effort. Walking around the perimeter and making eye contact with a power-armored form with the badge of a Judge, she nodded briefly even as the opposite member ignored her after matching her challenge and she continued to the command podium overlooking it all. Dressed in a formal uniform with medals and poshed up epaulet, the Major viewed the activities below like a artist would view a painting inspecting every detail. Without even turning to address her, he responded with a soft voice. "I take it the message was not received well? Come now, we've known each other for a long time I can tell when you're agitated." "No. The Inquisitor seems rather over-zealous as per their type. It's hard to believe though that he can even marshal a force together with that disaster for charisma he calls a voice." "Hah, it's not like you to tease those higher up. Have you met our guest yet? Judge Foldor arrived shortly before you and has been sharing some interesting developments. Nothing solid yet but it appears we might have the lead we've been looking for. Communications intercepted some unusual vox-traffic in the area and local command verified it wasn't from them. We're on standby in case it's more than it seems to be and the local Arbites were called off to handle a development in the next district over. We're on our own for now. Ah and before I forget, Lieutenant Moorington was looking for you earlier. Something about a re-match for sparring?" Smiling beneath her mask, she bowed to signal her leave. "Yes of course, I will finish up my business. Ferrum enim in throno." "Ferrum enim in throno. Go now, there is much work to be done." Watching her withdraw, the Major opened up an old chrono watch from his waist pocket and double checked the time...yes, there would be more than enough to keep him occupied for a lifetime very soon.
As the secound lander left a figure appeared on the first lander that seemed to be aggressively pacing many of the crew men of the ship had already seen her enter earlier into the briefing room before and enter the lander after its former occupants left. From head to toe in sabbta power armor and with a unique power helm thatthat heald a androgynous face surround by what seemed to many from far away seemed to be snakes that came out of the top of the helm. Any who got close could see that the snakes were in fact not moving but would clatch the glare of the sorrita that would make one take pause for a moment before heading closer. A large power scythe stood was maglpcked to her back beside her power pack and at her belt was a bolt pistol and a bolter she continued her wait for the mission to begin and to meet those that would be with her on the surface.
@Vulpas | Fluidly rising to her feet when dismissed by the irritated inquisitor Alex followed the trail of ice the commissar's pet psyker had created all the way down to the hanger, pausing at the foot of the ramp belonging to the Aquila that'd bought her to the Defiant Breath, something tickling at the edge of her senses. Pulling a power sword from beneath her cloak as she made her way up the ramp Alex stopped when she noticed the pacing Sister Militant in the shuttle's passenger section, a finger resting over the power sword's activation stud. "No Sororitas were listed and cleared for this mission. Where did you come from?" [OOC: Can edit the ending if needed.]
The sister stopped as she was asked the question she turned to the assasin who asked her the question. " I am Celestian Sepho rage heart of the order of the bloody rose, I came from this ship and the inquisitors previous cadre of battle sisters that were ordered to aid him on his last assignment and I have been here since before you arrived, I have been ordered to go with those who would be joining his task force once again and will be heading to the planet to give another hand in fighting corruption that could be on the planet." Sepho said as she stared at the assassin now keeping a eye on the assassins blade and for any sudden movements.
Alistair walked down the halls to the hanger bay and turned off half of his brain leaning on a wall out of harms way, having his Black Sword cradled in his torso taking his helmet off until needed or bugged. (OOC: If you do look at him he looks like Paladin Danse for Fallout 4)
Alex moved her finger away from the power sword's activation stud, looking over the Sister Celestian as she lowered her weapon. This wasn't her first mission as a servant of the Inquisition, so she was aware of the mindgames inquisitors played on their warbands, but Alex had evaluated her companions during the voyage to the Defiant Breath, working out how everyone might work together. The presence of a new member of the 'team' had thrown all that into an incinerator and that unsettled her.
With quiet steps, Adam step back into the shadows and made his way to the lander. He observed from said shadows how the others acted for dual purposes of how to work with them and for possibility of getting tjem into his own band later.
