~VICTORY!~ Kristoff didn't know whether to feel pride or pity as the proud knight collapsed onto the ground, pain overtaking him. For all his pomp and pride, one of it helped against the savagery in his assault. "You think there is dishonor in our savagery lad, yet that was what held the North against the horrors beyond. Remember that, and come to Middenheim if you wish to learn how to truly wage war." With that said, the Wolf Priest knelt down and poured some ale he kept with him into the knights mouth, hoping it would dull the mans pain. ~Chamber~ "Gonna need to bring more ale for myself next time." The Wolf Priest muttered to himself as he tried to get a few drops from the flask. He hoped his next bout would bring more of a challenge. That sun boy only managed to get a single flesh wound. Maybe there was a Black Guard here? Now that would be a bloody battle, a grim and silent Templar against a fierce and savage priest. It seemed that he'd never have the chance to find out however as he was met by yet another knight, the Knights Panther who had accompanied Schwarzhelm. By the tone of his voice, something told Kristoff that he might not be getting back into the ring. Had his group been discovered? No, Schwarzhelm likely didn't give a damn about something so trivial... So what could be worse? "Aye lad, lead the way. Best be worth my time though, I don't enjoy being kept from a scrap."
Mariah looked to the others, and in a quiet voice spoke, "Move into position to take out the workers first. I do not want any of them in the way when we have to face the guard. Once you are in position wait for me to make the first move on the workers and everyone else follows suit." With that said, Mariah, using the cover of the crates, began to move closer to one of the workers, trying to see where would be a good point to attack. After waiting a few moments, Mariah saw her opportunity, and quickly jumped out at the worker trying to knock him out as quickly and quietly as possible...with any luck that is.
@Maleth Ebba's eyes lit up both figuratively and literally as she followed the Druchii. She prepared to summon the wind of Aqshy to vanquish her newly found enemies. She wasn't inexperienced in the ways of war and combat but she was no expert either, she kept her vision sharp and her mind open as the tattoos on her body started to glow and ripple, changing shape and reforming into new characters and symbols only to dissolve once more. Once her enemy was in sight she let loose a fireball with her free hand into the assembled guards in front of the orc. The fireball hurtled forward and burned with an unnatural heat and passion that was characteristic of Aqshy. It struck down one guard and dispersed the rest, she then summoned the flaming sword of Rhuin into her left hand as she discarded her staff and drew her broadsword. She then laughed at the top of her lungs as she charged forward into the fray, the red wind overtaking her.
Nodding to Mariah and after waiting for her to make the first move, the Saurian moved as well to a different worker as he tried to use the cannons for concealment, the only things large enough to hide him. It wasn't exactly the best scenario for the Lizardman to sneak, where it would have been more fitting in a jungle, or if he was a skink for their smaller stature. Using the blunt pommel of his Macuahuitl to knock out the chosen worker, hoping to not accidentally kill the man with his strength. They were just workers after all, not the guards or actual enemies.
Tugg was actually not in the bests of moods right now, sure they where to get more gold, and now they might also fight somethings, but they had just left a feast behind and he had not had his fair share of all the present food, so now he had to do all this sneeking around work, though he was quickly spotted because of his sheer size and complete lack of commitment to being hidden, though the guard men haddent seen that he indeed was not Gog yet. "Yes Gog is here" Tugg said cleverly not telling his actual name, though such a clever ruse could only last for so long, and Tugg quickly saw that it dident need to, as the Khelandria had stabbed one of the guards in the back, thinking that this was indeed the time to kill the other stealhthely, Tugg used that he had been aproaching the guard house, and guessed that the humans expression could only be surprise, as he instead of being greeted by the local ogre guard instead was greeted by the hammer side of Tuggs cleaver flattening him to the ground.
Ebba Kaulbach ran forward in an attempt to get into melee range, laughing hysterically and yelling at the top of her lungs, half to intimidate the enemy and half out of excitement. She attacked the first guard she could get to with her flaming sword in an attempt to breach his defenses and allow a killing blow from her broadsword, predicting that the enemies attention will be on the sword of Rhuin because of its flaming nature. (OOC: Ebba will attempt to use the Flaming Sword of Rhuin to get rid of their shields and defenses then deliver the killing blow with her broadsword. She will make sure to keep her back to the door and have an escape plan in case she is wounded. If she does get wounded she will attempt to fall back and shoot fireballs to cover her escape.)
<Group I - Diversion> @matt23 @BuriasDempsey @TuskatheDaemonKilla @Maleth @Virgil_Corbec (@Casavay I'll keep on tagging you if that's ok, just to keep you informed on what's going on ) The big Orc had no trouble cutting through first two guards as they died most ingloriously. However, after seeing what happened with their friends the eight remaining ones created an actual formation around the entrance to the warehouse, shields in front and halberds poised to strike from the second line. It didn't look as a good prospect to charge into and for a moment, it would seem that they had no intention of answering Tuska's taunt and attacking him, they just stood there not moving. Then two things happened. First, the guard line started moving towards the Black Orc when a fireball came out of nowhere, flying over Tuska's head and nearly hitting him in the process. It crashed straight into the enemy line and killed one of the guards outright, his body completely disappearing and turning into a pile of ash on the stone below. Second thing that Tuska saw was a laughing burning woman running past him and straight into the melee, both her features and her blade set on fire. Ebba managed to get in the gripes with the enemy first, her mad charge bringing her straight into the jaws of the enemy. Thankfully for her, the initial shock of her fireball was enough to surprise the enemy for the guards simply didn't expect an Orc attacking them on this night, yet alone the Greenskin being in the company of a Bright Wizard. She slashed with her broadsword, the magically-infused blade cutting through one guard's shield as if it was paper and wounding the man behind it, but not killing him for the flame around her blade began flickering out - her first spell draining her of most of her power at the moment and requiring of her a moment to recuperate. One of the guards from the second row saw the opportunity and stabbed forward with his halberd, slicing Ebba's shoulder and pushing her slightly back as the blood began flowing from the wound. At the same time, one of the guards, apparently understanding that they were in a tight spot, tried to make a break for it and run into the warehouse to summon reinforcements. Sadly, Alozia was anticipating such move and before he got to the door a projectile made of pure blackness hit him in the back, blowing off most of his torso and creating such a wound as if the man was hit by a cannonball. Suffice to say, the guard fell on the ground and didn't move after it. OOC @TuskatheDaemonKilla you can kill 1 guard with your next post, @Virgil_Corbec you can also kill 1 guard with your next post (preferably the one you wounded who lost his shield ), @Maleth you can kill 2 of them with your next post. Outside the warehouse: Friendlies: Tuska, Alozia, Ebba (Captain York + 15 soldiers) Enemies: 6 Guards (4 armed with swords+shields, 2 with halberds) At the same time as the attack went outside, right before the workers could really pay a proper attention to the commotion, the infiltrators got them. With a combination of fist and weapon punches, the workers were quickly dropped, all of them knocked out and not a single soul dead. The start was good however then it went to hell. "Carl, hey Carl? What the..." the man overseeing the work who was up until then close to the guards and curious to hear as to what was happening outside turned around and saw that his workers were simply nowhere to be seen. Then, with his good eye and the fact that he knew just about everything there is to know about items in this warehouse, spotted something scaly that wasn't supposed to be here. Of course, what he spotted was Xiuhcoatl's huge form and without a question, he pulled out his pistol and opened fire. The bullet missed the Lizardman, however sadly it found target in one of the friendly soldiers behind him, piercing the man's neck and dropping him on the ground, suffocating as the blood poured freely out of the deadly wound. In return, Derrick let loose his arrow which found mark in overseer's chest who toppled over like a tree and allowing the ex-artillery sergeant to avenge his fallen comrade. Those four guards present now turned their attention towards the until then hidden newcomers and charged them, brandishing their short swords and axes. OOC @matt23 @BuriasDempsey both of you can kill 2 enemies with your next post. Inside the warehouse: Friendlies: Mariah, Xiuhcoatl, Derrick + 3 soldiers Enemies: 4 guards, 6 workers (incapacitated) <Group II - Infiltration> @Jorimel @Grall_Stonefist @DeranVendar+ (Constantine) First guard died silently, Witch Elf's dagger finding sweet spot beneath the man's armpit and annihilating his heart. Second guard followed his comrade's soul into the Gardens of Morr quickly as Tugg flattened him without much issue with his giant cleaver-hammer, leaving only a smear on the ground. Harold moved in afterwards, taking care of the bodies by hiding them in a nearby bush and out of sight, before the group entered the small guardhouse itself. The place was, like it looked from the outside, nothing special. A simple guardhouse consisting out of three side wings (open chambers without doors between) and the center ground. To the left there was a small armory with couple of weapon racks filled with spare swords, spears and shields. To the right they saw a row of bunk beds, ten in total, and couple of smaller pieces of furniture that probably served as some sort of sleeping quarters. In front of them there was a large wooden desk and a chair, empty now of course, which alongside a number of papers with the Baron's seal upon them and couple of maps pinned on the walls behind looked as some sort of their target's "office". Finally, in the center of the guardhouse there was a small sparring ring filled with sand and with a couple of training dummies on one side and a bucket filled with water on the other. All in all, quite a lovely place. The only illumination came from the outside but as the darkness crept in that would also soon completely disappear, leaving them to work in the shadows and place their trap as they see fit. OOC place is empty. Feel free to discuss if you want to use some special tactics etc on how to create the ambush. Your target, the Leader of the Baron's men, is arriving with my next post. And remember, the goal is to capture him <Group III - Tournament> @Keidivh Nodding and without a word, the Knight Panther turned on his heels and led Kristoff deeper into the underbelly of the arena into one of many side chambers where the rest of the combatants or other types of servants waited for their turn to work. But when they entered one of the smaller chambers with couple of makeshift wooden beds placed in two rows around the edges of the place did the Knight stop and point to a person lying on the second bed closest to the entrance. "I am sorry for your loss." At first, Kristoff couldn't really see what was this man talking about but upon closer inspection of the body on the bed he saw familiar markings of honor written in stylized Bretonnian letter as well as the familiar sword lying next to the body. It was definitely Pierre, which also became apparent couple of moments later when the Wolf Priest inspected his friend's face, the one half that was still attached - the other one was smashed into a pulp, possibly being the cause of the death, by some sort of a heavy object. "Your friend died in the arena shortly before you entered it," the Knight Panther broke the silence with his grave voice, "He was killed by one who calls himself "the Sentinel". A towering person in dark armor, acting as a personal guard to Baron von Beringer as well as being a man me and Lord Schwarzhelm came to investigate under the suspicion of heresy. Sadly, the tournament started before we could begin our proper investigation so we decided to wait for it to end before making our move and I'm afraid the blood of your friend's death is on our hands as well." He stopped there, not wanting to intrude upon possible grief that Kristoff might show in the next couple of moments and giving him as much time as he needed before continuing.
Ebba cursed at her wounding and using the flaming sword of Rhuin she attempted to slice through the halberds haft and attack the disarmed man with her broadsword.
Seeing that subterfuge was out of the question, and that his own presence had caused the death of one of the old veterans, the Saurian raised his own weapons in response and charged at the assaulting guards with intent to meet them head on. Slamming into one that tried to run him with a sword with his shield, Xiucoatl simply raised a talons tipped foot and brought it swiftly down on the dazed man's neck, snapping it. The other swung at him with an axe, burying it harmlessly into his shield, earning him a Macuahuitl to the face which pulverized while cleaving through like a ripe melon fruit.
The Wolf Priest was silent for some time as he stared at the broken form of Pierre. It was strange seeing him in such a way. It wasn't long ago they were drinking ale together, praying to their patrons for favor as they entered the arena. It seems this Lady is a fickle mistress. A sigh escaped the burly northerners lips as knelt down next to the Bretonnian, placing a cloth over his brutalized face. "I'm sorry I was not at your side when you fell Brettonian. I knew you only for a short time, but you were a good man, an honorable one. Rest easy at the side of your Lady, I'll see to it your remains are returned." This wouldn't stand. Damn the mission, a heretic took one of their own, and he would ensure that this debt was paid. "I shall see you avenged." A grim look set on his face, Kristoff took up Pierre's mighty sword, inspecting it closely. It was finely made. He would severe this "Sentinels" head with it. "You wish to cleanse your hands of my friends blood Panther? Then help me end the life of this Heretic."
