At least JPA's in general got nerfed. So if they do bring that new powerfist it will be with nothing else. So all they get to do is tank hunting and that's it.
The Shatterjack has been around for ages, unless it's getting a overhaul that's not new. Currently it has 40% life steal on damage done to vehicles, no extra damage or speed as far as I know.
If you had said the Shatterjack did anything other than hull life steal I was going to go on an absolute tirade about it since the Klaw unique called the Power Konvertah has the same effect. and it would be total bullshit for marines to have yet another unnecessary advantage
I should probably bring this up now that the UAT was updated and JPA's are losing their shit over the nerf they are soon to get. To all JPA mains reading this; I bet you wish you chose to get behind my idea of just moving the Powerfist to Ground Assaults, bet that would have been better than the nerf you're getting to basically you entire builds, on top of a slowed down Powerfist. But hey, whatever.
That was a horrible idea though. For starters, PFJPA is lore accurate, so while gameplay concessions are a thing, there's nothing there to support this change. Next is the fact that the problem with JPAs is solely in how much of an advantage flight grants in melee against other infantry, so taking away the JPAs fist isn't solving the primary problem with JPA's. Finally, the fist being strong against infantry would remain a problem regardless of locking it to GAs so a nerf was coming anyway and all your idea would achieve is arbitrarily remove an item that only compounds a class issue, rather than being it's core, essentially fixing nothing.
I'm 100% fine with the changes they intend to implement. JPA players are not, so far. I was only poking fun at the fact people were against my suggestion that is indeed not lore accurate but was lighter than what's going to be done now. That's all it was.
