Should the powerfist be unique to Ground Assaults?

Every single one of the ork animations varied from 0.5s to 2s slower. Accounting for lag that's an eternity and very easily withing many weapon TTK windows.

Lunging farther is infinitely less useful than attacking almost twice as often to cover the same distance while also doing the same damage per right?

This also doesn't cover the fact that because marines skate instead of the ork start/stop marines can auto turn 2-3 times better as well.

I did some quick math based on the time in the video and the number of attacks for the basic moves:

    Fast
    Marine 0:00-0:05 5 hits 1.0s per attack
    Ork 0:08-0:15 5 hits 1.4s per attack **40% slower**
    Heavy
    Ork 0:32-0:47 4 hits 3.75s per attack **66% slower**
    Marine 0:16-0:25 4 hits 2.25s per attack

Assuming my math is correct how is it fair that these weapons both have the exact same stats damage/pen/etc wise?

Power Fists basically have 50% more DPS than the Klaw. If they want the speed to be the same, fist damage should go down by at least that much compensate for the increased speed.

Also the heavy attack is so slow it can actually be interrupted by a Dbash stun because it takes too long to charge the klaw heavy attack, so there's that too

The lunge distance is also meaningless against marines since grav guns are a thing and they invalidate all melee, doubly so power klaws because the attack speed all but guarantees if the marine has one he'll get to use it

The only target an Ork should be able heavy melee hit with a klaw is an unaware one, at which point lunge distance is pointless.

Don't even get me started on why the klaw SLAM attack is slower...

  2. No, not quite. If the perception of the majority is that something is OP, you'll see it all over the place. Sometimes they are correct. Sometimes they are wrong. You'll still see it all over the place either way unless the perception changes.

    Rakka Frakka

How do you know it was me?

Except in this case JPA is incredibly strong. They top the games almost every time. Only thing I see beat them are Sorcerers and Apoths from time to time.

It might not have been - I just remember a fellow ork kicking off about FistJpa and put two and two together. Were you vocal?

You can put your dispute to rest, as you may have noticed that to travel further than the Space Marine, the Ork performed one less attack. The lunge is much further.

I was mistaken, the Power Fist does quick attack somewhat faster than the Power Klaw, about 40% faster as Fissiccisst has pointed out.

I agree that I should have left a second of the marines standard move speed in, but it is still very, very clear that the Ork is moving a lot faster while charging his attack than the Marine is. Switch between 1:20 and 1:44. If you can't see the difference I don't know what to tell you.

    No problem.

I agree with you, the slower speed of the Klaw does make it inferior to the Power Fist, although I would point out that in a melee fight there are only really two impacts from the speed. First is that you cannot realistically power attack, this is a major issue. Second is that it is easier to be caught out by a dbash as you spend longer in your animation before you clang with the dbash giving you less time to evade, this is a lesser issue but still an issue.

The DPS of the weapon will only factor into killing tanks as both the Klaw and Fist can only land the same number of attacks in the same openings in combat, such as after a successful dbash, and while the difference in DPS on tanks does matter it doesn't impact melee combat.

Currently I feel that the Klaw outperforms the Fist when used as an ambush weapon as you can close distance quicker and catch people out who are not expecting you to lunge as far as you do. Meanwhile the Fist outperforms the Klaw at general combat and tank hunting. Obviously this is not okay.

I would disagree on the slam attacks though, they both appear to be very similar in speed to me.

Nah I don't talk much ingame, I usually take my complaints directly to the forums as I suggest everyone does. Like I said a bit earlier I did see quite a few people complaining about it and leaving.

What was the orks name? I might have actually been in the same game. Was it Ugrob Backbreaker(or Ugrub or Urgab, can't remember exactly)? That's one I remember who started raging out about it. He was I think like level 2 though, which means a new player. He left pretty quickly to, "Go play overwatch instead of this shit imba game" paraphrasing of course.

This is definitely an issue that annoys a lot more people than the few who have posted here. People are vocal about it but not always in the forums.
  7. I only play JPA+PF out of love for a miniature that I painted, not for some broken meta or whatever. Please don't hate me.

Nobody hates you because you do it, I don't hate other people who do it.

I do hold a grudge against the Devs for not noticing it and fixing it faster. Nerfing JPA's is something that needs to be done and soon.

I remember when launch rolled around. Eldar cheesed a tank up onto some rocks near B for Torias and sat up there shooting us the whole match. Finally spent 5 minutes climbing up there with my fist and shield. punched them right into the ravine. It'd have been faster with a pack, aye, but there's something to be said for the element of surprise. Fists for ground only.
