Yep it does look just plain silly without the rod. I suppose devs could take the easy way out and retcon them to be one of those things the Imperium forgot the purpose of and just keep on building them around promethium refineries as they've always been there? Kinda like devs have already done the assumption of oil facility = pumpjacks.
