What dis git said, shootas are made for close quaters. Dont engage the other races in the open. The shoota, will inaccurate, can mow down enemies if you aim for the head in close range. Most of the time you will hip fire to beat marines 1v1 and aim downsights just to have some medium range accuracy. But yes get all the 1k box items then all 5k etc The Rodeo shoota drops in the 5k and is one of our best weapons. an umodded shoota with an extra 200rpm on the base shoota. I think its a little too strong acrtually for its point cost
Find just one other person you can play with and melee gets a lot easier. The game gets better the more squad oriented you are. Apart from that everything that's helpful has been said.
If you are not a slugga boy or stormboy. Use the equivalent to the krak grenade. Pop it on his shield and run. It takes practice, but it is effective. We had to learn that trick back in early access when the Shield Bros were completely OP.
Spot on I know where I went wrong too , I was D bashing then standing there with the other guy dazed , I should have just rolled out and shot , I was trying to melee hit but was frozen

Depending on your choice of barrel if you are indeed using a gun that can have its barrel changed out you would eather shoot from the hip (Muzzle break at med to close range, better at close range) or shoot down the iron sight (Heavy Barrel higher accuracy, but has vertical recoil) so its better to shoot towards the chest/neck area allowing the natural recoil to jump to the head providing hotshots without to much resistance missed head shots will hit the chest area allowing SOME dmg, insted off flying off the top of the head providing NO dmg. Other options such as the RODEO SHOOTAH dose not need this. If using the Rodeo Shootah, use its massive RPM *compared to the normal shootahs* to your advantage. its accuracy is vary low compared to. so the best coarse of action is shoot toward the chest, and as you close the distance, aim for the head. BUT ALWAYS CLOSE THE DISTANCE! the Rodeo Shootah can take down enemies from med, even long range! Just manually burst your gun, use a few shots and wait a second until you repeat the action. NUMBEH TU: GUNZ VSZ GUNZ! Ork Shootah boyz have one advantage over shootahs from other races. RPM (Rounds per Minute) OUR GUNZ ARE DAH FAZTEST! Even a rodeo shootah will out do an Eldar's shuriken catapult. This means get in close and personal with our guns and hold down that trigger. Think of the shootahs as more of SMGs then Assault Rifles (The Big shootah is more like the assault rifle) So play accordingly,m use corners narrow passageways and advantage points (boxes walls lower/higher elevation) and ALWAYS keep moving. And you'll out do most if not all opposing tactical classes. NUHMBEH FRI: GUNZ VSZ RIGHT MOUZE BUTTON! *Melee* Run. Run your little orky butt off.... There is such a little chance for you to win in a 1v1 against most melee classes. D-bash and do a light attack? HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAAA, no the devs put an end to that because the melee users cried their little asses off because people could combat their right mouse spam. Even with a D-bash and a stun you can barely get away from them because their auto baby targeting for pansy wussies and massive lunging spam light attacks will catch up with you in a heart beat they don't even need to use (WASD) So until the devs stop greasing the squeaky wheel. your only real chance at surviving a melee onslaught is to run, or D-bash till an ally helps you. If you see an assault running to your direction, you MAY be able to shoot them down before they get close enough. Shield bro SMs? LOL just run because their shields will eat every round you throw at them. If running doesn't work due to 90% of melee users are extremely persistent on braking their mouses right mouse button over your head, and pretending that they are good at a game. They will tail you till the end of the match. But you can use their lack of skill against them! The only button meleers know how to use at all is right mouse button... sometimes shift.. sometimes their sticky man sweat gets their finger stuck on the right mouse button causing them to do a power attack every now and then. But thats it!!! So jump up on top of a box and laugh your ass off as you watch 5 melee jack asses spam right mouse button against the side of the box while you shoot them in the head!
