Alrighty this is pointless trying to explain the time frame available vs development time left.

Anyways, to everyone else, I hope the devs see people are actually unhappy this time, and if PC Gamer's reveal this week is Eldar, cool... but don't bullshit us next time.

Eldar and Orks have been on the back burner for almost 2 years while they have pumped out content for SM and Chaos pretty regularly. They can stop working on the poster buys for 5 minutes to get the other factions into a playable state. Your is playable

  3. working on the xenos will always be work on SM since they will share some mechanics

so we all can be happy and keep the threads clean and friendly
you know what will happen otherwise

*Eyeroll* Two months then, however you feel. We have no idea how the development is working even with the time frame and it's entirely possible the launch will be pushed back, we don't know.

Is it going to be five minutes though? How much time are you asking for a complete halt to get Eldar, Orks, and Tyranids in? Doing all three is not that short, and if it had just been the Eldar then hell i'd agree.

For godsake, I like the Xenos races, I wouldn't be on this forum if I didn't have friends who want to play them, but a complete halt to marine development until all the Xenos are in could seriously cripple the faction.

It's actually released in "summer of 2016" which means that they have time until 21st of September to meat this deadline. Still not that much time left, considering that we still don't have 2 factions and we're not sure how much more time it will take for them.

  6. You have some valid points, like that the core gameplay mechanics that will be used for the Eldar also anyway should be further improved. Like the D-Bash, or the fluidity of melee, or cover mechanics.

But I don't think we need more loadouts for SM/CSM classes.

Anyway we have to keep in mind that their are different resourses for different things. Design is not Animations.
Even if we argue that they should alocate all art/animations to Eldar, because that seems to be where the delay is, even then we have to understand how companys work.

Stuff is outsourced. It's very likely that the guy who made the imperialfist scheme literally COULDN'T work on Eldar related stuff. Just by the nature of dividing work in groups and suppliers, and specializations. EDIT to clarify: For example maybe the guy that made Imperialfists is specialized in Shaders and Textures and Details. When the Models for Eldar are not done yet he can work on the maps lighting he can work on textures for existing stuff. He can make yellow Spacemarines.
He would be of no help making the Eldar animations better.

With all that said, I hope you understand why your comments might be looked upon very unfavorably. In the Thread about Eldar. Where we expected Eldar and we got SM/CSM. I know it's not logical, but it really does feel bad. It's like insult to injury that they showed the subfactions. It's like salt into the wound.
When Brent and Katie seem not very distressed that they can't show Eldar today. When we all have a happy little Twitch about SM/CSM again and can gush over our Bananamarines. When the Twitch doesn't really go into that we don't have Eldar today. (I know Katie disclosed it before the Stream), but during the Stream it looked like, yep, those 2 pictures are what were expected and we should be happy.

I can also tell you right now, that if this announcment would have been about anything SM/CSM related, even something way smaller then finally models ingame, we would right now have 5 angry Threads in the Generaldisscusion, and 5 angry Threads in the Founderslounge. I see none about this. We would have the Twitchchat spamming Emotes or angry comments for 10 minutes.

We are here in our 1 little Thread on the Subject that started as hype and was once again dissapointing.
It's even sad to see how small the Eldar community on this board is after 2 Years.
    I hope you understand.

Until we have something tangible - playable - it should.

You won't even be able to balance multiple factions properly until you have multiple factions in the game.

Assault Marines could be weak vs Traitors right now, but strong against Eldar/Orks - and you would have zero idea.

Think of a multi-faction game like Poker. When you have multiple people at the game, being cautious can be prudent until you are confident you have a strong hand, and a decent guess at everyone elses hand.

The moment Poker drops to the 1v1 - the last two people at the table - you want to be hyper-aggressive, the balance of the game changes, and a card which may have had multiple positive/negative effects around the board before - is now binary: good for someone, bad for someone else.

The same is true for Dawn of War, or any multi-faction game. Balancing two races in isolation doesn't work, you need to have a good understanding of the bigger picture - because units which may be plainly weak against one faction, may be extremely strong versus another - and in the big picture you don't just need every unit being equal (homogenization of classes, ask any MMO'r how they feel about that) - you need each faction to have both strengths and weaknesses against other factions: above the class vs. class level.

Raptors might be of questionable use in a world of sporadically grenade-dropping / dive-rolling Tactical Marines - they might be overpowered in a world of predictably strutting Dark Reapers - or swarms of F2P Boyz where the impact force alone might be far more effective than mowing them with a Tactical's bolter or running dry when the Nob comes around the corner.

There are 2 circumstances that will stop me being mad 1) Is that we don't have the Eldar previews delayed due to PC gamer and 2) If the later happens we atleast get founder server access that week.

You hyped the event up so much that it was at the front of my mind all week. Then you gave usconcept art that we'd pretty much already seen just in 2d non textured forms.

Considering the amount of time the devs have used to somewhat balance what we already got, then it is starting to seem a bit... hurried(?)... to try and get both Eldar and Orkz out and ready before the Beta, especially since the game is supposed to launch this summer (e.g. September at its latest).
But I guess we will just have to wait and see, I really expected the Eldar to be playable (at least on the Founder's Server) this month, but alas it was not meant to be.

No, I don't think we need more loadouts when we've barely nailed the mechanics of what we have. Unfavorably looked upon? I can deal with that, I know what happened to you guys sucks, it sucks a lot and it shouldn't of happened. I just don't think it's justifiable to my arguments strawmanned though and reacted strongly because of it, all intelligent discourse breaks down when we start talking to each other like children.

Yes and no I think, the reason is that the marines are really broken at the moment, yes we can shoot, chop, and run but how our basic functionalities even work beyond that is a mystery to us. I worry about the scenario where we're balanced to a tiny extent in the post Xenos phase, but because we didn't get mechanical tune ups along the way what results is that core issues we have right now(Like how ridiculously unviable having multiple raptors on the field is.) will persist, because that's not even really a Me vs Enemy Faction issue balance wise, it just plain doesn't work.

I don't want a lot of support, I just want enough support that our classes at least do what they are supposed to do.
