I saw we were posting Rhinos in uncomfortable positions so I dug through my Screenshots folder for 4th degree Warp-fuckery.
It seems a pointless effort to try to make other people here understand how infuriating playing against certain "features" of their faction can be. Nobody besides your own faction wants to hear why you lose against them. All of this is a mess. Half of what we think are race features are likely unintentional development screw ups. Every single race in this game has some sort of broken class, weapon, vehicle, RTS item, etc, etc, and the list goes on. We are all acting like we are a bunch of big shots when we win, or unjustly handicapped if we lose. The fact is, hardly anyone here is any better at the game than the next guy, we all just use unfair mechanics against each other and call it fair when its to our advantage. People cry and whine about unbalanced equipment in this game and then turn around and whine and cry when someone else whines and cries. Then they whine and cry about all the new whining and crying that is happening around them. Why cant we put personal pride aside and just talk game mechanics. This game is tossed together like kitchen scraps in a house salad. Why are we spending so much time measuring each others genitalia. I dont get why people spend so much time defending or building up their faction, as if we dont all already know what's messed up for each and every faction. Its all messed up.
Every faction and class can break the melee combat system. JPA / Raptors / Stormboyz move faster than any Eldar. And btw this problem occurs also against standard marine ground units. Some say it's because of latency. If that's true then there is no short run solution: we lack players to fill only European servers or only American servers. The problem here is not Eldars, the problem is melee system requires perfect timing but at the same time the game is pushing players on a server located on another continent.
I'll tell you what stops me playing as Eldar at the moment. The cost of their Cosmetic Armour is mental. I got my character slot and name set, checked the shop and W.T.F?! HOW MUCH?! The pricing is as bad as buying the figures from Games Workshop and painting them yourself. Thanks, but no thanks. I'll wait until they sort Eldar armour costs, if they ever do.
Not to mention I'm pretty sure attack speeds have been normalised, so Eldar don't attack any faster than any other Faction. It seems no matter how many times this is stated, or proven in gameplay footage, people will continue to hold the belief that Eldar attack more quickly. To the best of my understanding, they don't. Even when they did, the difference was negligible. You could only actually see the difference with the naked eye after about three attacks. Given you don't tend to get three uninterrupted attacks in melee in this game (if you did, your target would be dead), the bonus speed was close to meaningless. It was certainly swallowed up by poor latency.
As its been said already, Eldar are just fucking annoying. Everything about them is designed to be irritating. Its oh so satisfying when you get to hear that hawk thats been sitting on top of the point with a sun rifle scream while you shoot it in its stupid plastic face, but the amount of sheer annoyance he will cause before you get him is enough to make me dread Eldar matches. The actual problems with Eldar are the same they've always been, compounded mostly into two main factors; 1. Shit servers with high ping and comparatively tiny hitboxes with high movement speed, making Eldar seemingly ignore attacks and direct fire too often. 2. Lawn mowers of death. Its stupid that getting bumped at low speeds by an Eldar vehicle is enough to insta-kill anything, and this is abused to no end in nearly all Eldar matches I've been in because of their high mobility which makes anything short of a lascannon next to useless at trying to counter them. In short, the server lag enhances Eldar performance because it does some wonky shit that makes them even harder to hit than they are supposed to be, and *I HATE* YOUR HOVER MOWERS -Edited by Asheru.
