Should Nobz(ork players who have bought the game)be able to wield a shoota as a pistol

Yep, the models aren't always representative, but I get your point.

Personally, for game balance I'm in favour of the big shoota being 1 handed as in this game it's probably going to be an Ork stormbolter equivalent.

I don't see why holding a rifle in one hand should be a problem. First of all, orks care little for accuracy, so the possible loss of stability is moot. Second, they're orks, which means they're incredibly strong. Hell, ork boyz hold big shootas (or atleast certain variants) with one hand.

So certainly a nob can do it while holding a power klaw/choppa in the other hand. However, big shootas for nobz should be more expensive than for boyz.

its simple if they've got something in their other hand make it super inaccurate. Its not like they wouldn't do it, but they wouldn't be hitting much.

  4. stormbolter is 2 handed as well unless you are a terminator

That's a debatable point, it's always been the case on the TT that champions and above could take Stormbolters and a close combat weapon. I suppose you could argue that they sheath the stormbolter and pull the close combat weapon but that doesn't work when they have powerfists or single lightningclaws.

Add to that boltguns themselves are supposed to be twohanded (all gun variants are, pistols being one handed) but lots of people seem to be under the impression that they must be single handed weapons.

Ork boyz are standard troops, Nobz are champions so it's still a question mark.
  6. OK I think all rifles should be 2 handed for all basic classes (it does not really make a difference since melee attacks doest not require an animation before you can do melee after shooting)
and all elite/hero can take them 1 handed if they are not to big

I like this idea though it would require some balancing like bad for ork aim bad

Good and bad racial aiming for weapons can easily be balanced by the size of the targeting reticle.

Assume that every shot you make lands in the targeting reticle that is on your screen, the more accurate your faction is at aiming the smaller the reticle (scopes on guns can reduce it further), a fullstop being the most accurate possible, those (like Orkz) who have bad aim but high rates of fire get a circle for a targeting reticle meaning they would have to get closer to ensure that the targeting reticle isn't wider than the target.
