I want to visit them as well. On topic: If that is so, we definitely don't need normal jumping in the game. Rolls for the Rolls God.
Last time i recall it being asked was in a video where it basically ended up with the team asking something along the lines of "do you really want to see a Space Marine skipping along". Id assume its still not planned.
Are you sure that you could jump with all the different classes? Or was it just the SM Assaults and CM Raptors with the Jump Packs that you could "jump" with?
Fair enough then if they can design the maps so that jump is totally redundant. I just imagine scenarios in which I am standing on one platform and there is another platform a couple of feet away, and rather than being able to hop across a couple of steps I will have to run all the way downstairs and then back up another set of stairs. If there is a function to vault onto/over terrain, perhaps the default motion of this function in the absence of any obstacles is the character hopping forward a couple of paces so that we can cover such minor jumps?
maybe they should take some inspiration of assassins creed with the auto jump when running to the edge of a platform
Hopefully your character won't just auto-vault over/onto any waist-high objects you run towards with the intention of using as cover. If they make a key to use for vaulting to prevent such occurrences, they could make that key the jump command. To prevent people from space jumping everywhere, make it a chargeable action that resets if you don't jump within a certain amount of time after building a full charge. If not sprinting, if you just press the key you just make a slight hop(I.E. a foot or two), as any REAL person would in the event they didn't crouch to build up some momentum for a higher jump. If you charge for a higher/max-height jump then your movement speed gets decreased as your leg strength is preparing for vertical movement, not horizontal. If sprinting, a press makes a further jump than if not. Charging takes less time because of your momentum but you also have less time to execute the charged jump before it cancels. If all ledges get counted to act as vault-able cover, with this you could sprint and jump towards a window, vaulting the edge to get inside so long as you get high enough to do so. In this instance, the vault/jump is making me think of the Battlefield series, only with being able to charge the jump to account for the fact these are SUPER-Humans in POWER Armor, rugged Orks and graceful Space Elves, all of which(Except for Orks, maybe, with their stub legs) surely can jump higher than normal people.
sorry but in the 40th millennium humanity have forgotten how to jump while Eldar are to arrogant to jump and orks just crush any obstacle which they can't go over to be honest I think we shouldn't make things to complicaded here
I heard Brent said they intended to make Eldar very agile, even do backflip from the wall. How when there is no jumping? I don't know.
The following statement is a joke. If you can't take a joke well... I feel sorry for you. If you get upset over the following joke or think that I am saying is true feel free to look at the ceiling cause the word gullible is written in invisible ink: Only Eldar get to jump everyone else is either too dumb in the case of Orks or just too heavy in all that armor in the case of Chaos and Mon'Keigh.
