No, you're missing the point. There is an entirely valid argument to give Chaos older marks of armour. There is not a valid argument to provide LSM with corrupted armour. This is because, in the fluff, the original Traitor Legions had access to Crusade and Heresy era wargear as well as the Loyalist Legions. So both factions will have access to this, 40,000 years later. There is no fluff that explains why a Loyalist Marine would "purify" Chaos wargear and use it. THEREFORE, our logic is that the game should allow for maximum visual customisation so long as it is lore friendly. This is, THEREFORE there should be no real reason not to have it.
Sir, with all due respect the only one who is whining here is me, not the gentlemen that commented above. Yes, I'm whining but not about game balance like other posts. I just wanna show the devies that I am willing to pay to have that cosmetic item which is completely harmless to the game balance with string already in game file and fluffwise acceptable. It's a simple thought of demand and supply, a chance for the company to make profit. I'm sorry if that offended you.
True but they(devs) have said numerous times that CSM will get access to older marks of armor and LSM the new ones ,with some marks overlapping ofc.
I would imagine the reason they dont get as "good" marks of armor statistics why is because of the marks of chaos .... if the heretic artificer armor was just as good as loyalists the MoN and artificer would be all anyone wore except very specific reasons ... LSM already have a steep disadvantage in that chaos can access 35 toughness WAY earlier. From a mechanical standpoint i think that is why since they also have ranged healers that can buff defense while healing ... Its entirely debatable it "is better than the loyalists" as it costs less and most of the lower cost items turn out to have better LP efficiency. i would say its primarily a game balance thing .... in summation.
Some things are arguable, fluff wise renegades have indeed more often than not same armour than loyalist because until recently they were loyalist, some have patch armour because as renegade they have no more access to the forge. But in game you only have first founding legion, they became traitors and flee to the eye when the battle for terra was lost. But they flee with their fleet and the dark mechanicum. So their gear is made for them in the unholy forge where you will have to admit loyalist design isn't really liky to appear. Yes it is possible for CSM to scavenge loyalist armour for battle repair, the reverse is just impossible. LSM will never use corrupted gear. What you ask for will maybe be possible far later in game development as faction will grow and maybe renegades will be added.
Dude your comment is off topic, this thread is purely on cosmetic items. Older Marks armor doesn't mean the armor is better, for the nature of Chaos warband they CSM just wear what ever piece they can scavenge from fallen Loyalists or having been keeping them for a long time since the time of Horus, so CSM should have access to cosmetic item representing older marks of armor. I totally agree with you on that CSM should not have access to newer Marks which were developed after the Heresy, which is of course unlikely. But I think them wearing old models, especially Heresy era armor, is something possible. A pict capture of some Iron Warriors at the Drop Site. Maybe, just may be some of these guys have survived until now, for in the Warp time is a meaningless concept and the Drop Site Massacre is just like yesterday to them.
