no, it doesn't work that way most chaos armor has demon blessings and most Legion armor has power of the machine spirits so it would reject a heretic this is covered in fluff, the only way to convert the armor is if the wearer of a legion armor fell to chaos or it was made for chaos, not saying scrapping isn't a thing the minitours have stolen many power armours from other legions

What the hell fluff are you reading? Chaos regularly corrupts machine spirits. Just because it was worn by a member of the original Legions doesn't mean it's suddenly un-wearable by the Chaos corrupted.

Most Chaos armour does not have daemon blessings either - where are you getting that from?

Have you heard of the Horus Heresy? Fully half of the Legions fells to Chaos, yet continued to wear the same armour. They didn't all suddenly find a set of daemon-forged armour in their armouriums once they swore fealthy to Horus.

Just because they are traitor marines, doesn't automatically mean their armour becomes part daemon. At all. This is just made up by you.

What about the Iron Warriors? They allied with Chaos and are certainly warped, but they never embraced it like other Legions. They will still wear original marks, as will many other traitor marines albeit they may be ornamented with horns etc.

None of the fluff corroborates what you're saying. I have literally (excluding any particularly limited edition or out of print) read every book, graphic novel and codex and have never come across what you're claiming.
