My understanding of the org charts librarians, apothecaries, and techmarines first fall under their sections leadership then the company command. They are basically warrant officers so yes they follow orders but are expected to be well free thinkers due to unique perspectives.

They are Advisers within a company. The only ones with leadership is either during special operations or the Chief titles. Best example is Varro Tigurius (since I read some books including him)

When he served straight together with Marneus Calgar he gave his input regards daemons and all that, but only advised, he never took control. Whereas when Tigurius served with the 2nd company on Damnos, he acted more as leader since he was not even in the same area like Sicarius but instead with Sergeants.

Specialists are commonly seen (at least in my book) as advisors, not free-thinkers like you guys simply going and try to contact the first company it's somewhat treason / lack of trust in your dear captain!

I was thinking blood ravens and yes advisors but they report to their chief first the company second or so i thought. Either way yes it shows a lack of trust which there is. Lol. Anyways lets take on this next challenge.
