hmm... 10 minute cooldown which is reduced by X amount related to the amount of experience received from objectives?` Or something related to the nature of the class. Apoths get it from healing etc.
Right now Veteran is the only ace in the hole a player has in a match. Until we see what Terminator equivalents and Elite classes bring to the table Veteran classes are the big cheese. It should be punishing to lose your Veteran during a match. The decision to deploy a Veteran shouldn't be taken lightly. If you go all in as your first spawn to try and secure an objective, dying in the process, then that is your decision. Allowing players to get a do-over because they got "cheated" out of their god mode trip cheapens the value of the Veteran. Now, I'm not saying I would hate to see veterans with a cooldown in the future. Say perhaps...when we see what Terminators and Elites bring to the table. Depending on the mechanics involved with the deployment of those mega classes having to spawn in multiple Veterans might be the only response a team will have for dealing with the situation. It's all kinda up in the air right now though.
I don't overestimate them I just know what usually happens with new stuff added in and how long it takes them to adjust it to where it should be. They will be overtuned for the next few months after they are released.
Well they set their bar with veterans with the last upgrade for them. I'll give some credit we will probably be looking at a 50/50 chance of UP trash or OP mess.
I think a 10 min cool down wouldn't be bad. Would take the sting out of those times you decide to pull out the Vet and you get turned into road hash by a team mate by accident, or spawn out of an apc that was parked in a bad spot and you plunge to your death in lava, ect ect.
It is already planned. In the future, you will get Veteran and Elite lives from boxes bought with Requisition. There will still be a limited amount of lives you can get into a match, but from what I understand it should be possible to get more than one life. The system is still up in the air, though, but that's how devs planned to implement it a month ago.
