In case of guardian weapon teams, bright lance is the most-used one. I have a half-completed squad of 10, and I have made the platform to have one.

It is a pretty solid choice, but not extremely reliable to do something every turn. The guardians are good objective sitters too, ofc, and if they have a weapon platform, they can actually do something when at the backfield. And anyone who moves closer to take out the brightlance will meet a hail of 20 shuriken shots, which should be enough to scare off even terminators.

I have a guardian squad with a platform in the battleforce. Apparently it's not fluffy for Alaitoc too have many guardians so I'll probably just have the one squad. I am considering getting Iliac since he's really not super powerful compared to many named HQs. I could beef up my rangers and use that AP2 rifle to pick off all the terminators I have to fight.

Alaitoc guardians are no less fluffy than others.

Craftworlds to which guardians wouldn't be too fluffy are just Biel-Tan, while it is most fluffy for guardians at Iyanden, Ulthwé and Saim-Hann (on jetbikes). But for Alaitoc, no reason not to field guardians because of fluff.

Illic is fun. I don't see him too much, but he is definitely the most fluffy addition you could get for an Alaitoc-force. He is a pretty good for a guaranteed kill per turn, which isn't that much. But him with a group of pathfinders, you can annihilate every special weapon in a tactical marine or guardsman squad. What better way to make an opponent mad than to say "yeah, you still have all your bolter guys. But no melta, sorry!"

Thought I read somewhere that they don't field them often. Can't find it in the codex though.

Yea, Illic sounds like my kind of guy. I'll get him. Would it be unwise to also get a warlock or farseer? I'm not sure what point cost I'm building up to at this point. Probably 1250 or less.

If you can be bothered to cast powers then Farseers can be a huge help especially if you only take powers from the Codex as you'll get 4 powers.

Also for AA use 20 guardians with 2 missile plateforms, its costly but it holds up against most flyers with flak missiles and for armor krak missiles

So I am extremely happy! I found a hobby shop about 20-25 minutes away from me, in another city. Its supposed to have all kinds of tabletop stuff, including Warhammer fantasy/40k, and the prices are supposed to be great also! I am going over there on Friday with the Wife, excited to see what I can find :D.

Always a good feeling. When I moved to Australia, it found me a little while to find a good store.
Is it a GW store, or a private store?

It's a private store, Gamer's Path. They have a GW store thats about an hour from me, don't feel like driving there lol.
