Ok its been since Steam release I have been playing this game and I have lvl 4 Space Wolf and Craftworld Ulthwe Eldar But I would like to point out that there ae unnecessary obstacles in this game. Finding out some of those was difficult. Why I have to move predefined class and re-equip it? Isnt it clumsy? Ooops, so CRT are only for real money? Justve spent 10 000 on first gun... Why equip have some point value and what it means? What are all those stats? What is Toughness, Penetration, Armor, Heat, Spreat... how does it work? Why there are more values behind slash? Why some weapons doesnt have any stas visible and melta weapons has no damage stat? Are they unimportant or unfinished? Why are othe players yelling at me and are rude? I take C point! So we lost A point... why does it matter? Chest include weapons that cost several times more othervise? Most expensive chest could include basic equip but if I get it from lower chest Ill prevent it? Ok I palyed some games and bought a chest with mod decrease spread in exchange of accuracy? So it increase accuracy in exchange of accuracy? I think that explaining this in-game would have noticeable positive impact. In fact, I would expect that from fully realeased game taht is not Beta. Rather not to have some content then more content but with confusion.
Depending on the weapon, spread vs accuracy changes the weapons mechanics. (also are you sure it was spread and not recoil?) Spread is helpful with suppressing with some heavy guns which can be a great tactic for harassing people on balconies. Spread vs accuracy say on a bolt gun determines if you want to use it as a mid to low range dakka dakka gun or more for a longer ranged sniping bolter.
1) First games you are supposed to play with pre-sets, which are stronger then what you can build out of the gate. It could be told in a better way, yes. 2) RTC will be earned in game, possibily starting this month. 3) Think of equipment points. You have a limit of 1000 points and you can use them for a mix of wargear of your preference-you can go tank mode, you can go full offense with good weapon and mods, you can have utility in form of extra dodges or nades, but you can't have it all at once. 4) Toughness is what armor is in your normal RPG game. Penetration is rather self explanatory, it negates toughness. Armor is self regenerating part of health. Heat is for melta weapons, which deal no damage, but stack a debuff that expires quickly, the longer you stay on target, the more damage you deal, heat defines how effective these weapons are. Spread is how fast your cone of fire will bloom. Values behind / regard different distances. All are important. 5) Probably because you play Loyalist Space Marines, they make up for 50% of all community and are cancerous to play with, blaming frequent loses on anything and everything but themselves. Also, depending on how map goes, its sometimes better to sit on the point that wasn't captured yet then to take back captured one if you have a choice, because capturing point for the first time gives extra time for attackers, making it easier to win for them. 6) From my observation, each chest got different contents, so they should not overlap, however the best way to get them is to start with cheapest and buy the stuff until you can't any more, then move on to more expensive one and so on. You can find unique weapons with unique stats in the lootboxes. 7) Mods are rather badly explained and implemented, just use the mod and check it for yourself if its worth the points. Most people prefer mods increasing accuracy, I personally go for mods that decrease horizontal recoil.
This game does a terrible job of explaining the mechanics to new players. I can't answer all of your questions but: 5. It's got nothing to do with the playerbase. All defenders ever have to do on any map is run down the timer before the attackers have either captured all points or have acquired enough influence by holding points. Games start with a short timer and the first time you capture a point the timer gets increased. If a game has only 2 or so minutes left but the influence bar at the top is nearly full then any unconquered points are vital. In your example recapturing C would do very little to stem the influence bar but losing A could give the attackers another 5 minutes meaning they are guaranteed to win. In the situation I described the best strategy is to get as many people to defend A for those few minutes as possible and when half the team rush off to capture a point that can't change the outcome it leaves the unconquered point vulnerable. And remember, the attackers know that the unconquered point is their only way to win so they will throw everything at it whilst half the team is away attacking C. If you're on the receiving end of rage for that then it's not acceptable but a lot of the frustration comes from people being suspicious of your motives. Did you go for C because you're a new player who didn't understand or did you go for C to bulk out your XP at the cost of screwing over the team and losing the match? I'm sure in your case it was the first one but it's the Internet and people will always jump to the most negative conclusion
Im not so sure. There is not a clue for new player that only uncaptured points gives attacker the time bonus. I know those things now but thanks you post answers. My point was that new player probably havent watch all dev videos and read all the forum to find out and should not be made to. Those informations shoudl be all avaliable in game (and not as loading tips) P.S. I though that heat is how the weapon gets overheated. Im still clueless what the accuracy, recoil, spread means... what is exactly their efect. Does it mean that 2° is a cone where the shot randomly lands and the spread 0.022/0.05 means that the whole cone will rotate 0.022° vertically and 0.05° horizontaly? Or it is how shots are distributed inside the cone? Which one is "accuracy" the modes mentioned?
Ah, right! There are 2 kinds of heat, one is basically weapon overheating, another one is the actual debuff. The heat statistic is still unclear as its unreadable for basic heavy weapons without calculator.
Haha wow, this is exactly how I thought someone new to the game would feel about the game. They really need to make things clearer already. Could someone tag Christine?
i think he understands all this now i think hes saying why isnt it explained in game like in the garrison ... why doesn't it take you to the garrison and guide you through a tutorial .... imagine for a second your average CoD zombie walking into this game unprepared muttering Fraaaaaaaaaagggggssssss while tyring to figure it out .... its certainly not intuitive to the non WH40K savvy or the primarily TPS player .... and its a good thing to charm out of genre players into your genre even if we have to deal with them being noobs a bit longer ... more fans is always a good thing for the long term growth of a game, and no tutorial or "welcome to the game" explanation can lower that number. the fact that even you had to break down and explain the difference between the 2 types of heat means you know thats not something properly explained albeit on a subconscious level.
