Problem # 1, you parked the damn truck Problem #2 So after the first four got killed on their way, you still didn't move your parked truck So do Rhinos and Predators. Only Eldar seem immune to the tyranny of the rocky outcropping I agree they should deal more damage if they are close range, no argument there I can, but 5-6 shots at 3s each would be 15-18 seconds, not 26. Which one of us can't comprehend numbers? Same in a Rhino or Pred. Again, I agree that upping the AV damage on the rokkit or klaw is reasonable. I'm saying don't advocate a melta nerf, because they have been pigeonholed into strictly a close range AV weapon.Nerfing them makes them completely useless Yes you get a bunch of XP for killing a tank. You also get XP for every time you run someone over. Every time you ram a vehicle if someone else finishes it off you get assist XP. If you finish it of you get the full XP for killing it. If a gunner in your vehicle kills someone you get driver assist XP. You get commendations for getting the most vehicle kills. Can those number be changed? Sure. But you can still rack up and help with an overall victory (which also give you Req/XP) by knowing how to drive your vehicle effectively and avoid situations like parking your truck near a point you know the enemy is heading towards I can, and I say you have advantages in other areas compared to us. That is the definition of asymmetrical balance I'm not, I recognize that there are some imbalances that do need to be corrected. Just don't nerf something that is doing it's job as it was meant to. Give the Orks some better AV, or make another area of theirs better. Although you have us beat in toughness and anti-infantry ranged and melee are on par with us (if not better), and you get to WAAAAGH where we get an unnoticeable squad bonus if we are standing pretty much on top of our squad leader, so I'm not sure giving you another advantage would really keep balance.
They should add a currents metter (voltmeter or what ever). If in green shoot is safe if in orange 50/50. Red - you gonna get burn!
The weapon itself has cooldown time, outside of chargeup time. You'd know that, had you used the weapon. WAARGGHH is practically useless and triggers on defense maps with limited to no lives where you would prefer to have a downed state. The speed bonus is barely there. And waargh only triggers at the end of a round. We have either already won by that point or we are losing. Problem # 1, you cannot be in constant motion when you risk running over your team. Problem # 2 team is not killing melta runner and I can't shoot into team. By the time I switch slot to move he has already planted a melta charge. I can't even move out because team is in the way. You can't do that as an ork. Our super stickbombs don't stick or just don't do damage. Simply put you can park your vehicle much more safely when playing against orks, as compared to playing against anyone else. Because you simply know you have more time to react. I can only imagine how bad things will be on the vehicle map.
Yeah orks should be balanced to the tabletop standards and never hit anything with shooting. Also they should be half as tough but 2.5 times as many so I can have my power fantasy lived out while I walk over squads of orks solo. Totally logical. You know we could balance eldar in a similar fasion. To represent that they are scarce and a dying race, we can limit their respawns to 240 seconds per death. Also they can have 50 tickets per fortress defense. Sound good?
Isn't Cobra superheavy though? Though TBH, there's not a lot of heavier tanks for Eldar either, so they may have to go that high if they're adding Land Raider/Battlewagons, as Eldar vehicles are supposed to be glass cannony like them.
Tell you what, I'll spend a day driving the Ork vehicles around and see how it goes. If handling is that bad on them I'll agree with you, but while driving there Rhino turns about as well as a thrown brick, and I've had relatively good results from just running the Rhino around. As far as problem 2, You said 5 guys came in trying to suicide you. if that is true unless they all came in once you had time to move. Teammates should absolutely not be comfortable standing directly in front or behind a vehicle. Because everyone parks them like that, no one, not even the other races, thinks to be mindful of their own vehicles. That is just as important as not firing/nading into melee, but everyone ignores it because that's how the vehicles are being used.
